FOOT GUITAR version 2.0 ...designed by YOU ! !

So, the ol' "Foot Guitar" suffered some damage during the European GnR tour - busted wood, damaged wings... I spoke to the good folks at Vigier Guitars ( www.vigierguitars.com ) and we've decided it's time to create the "Foot Guitar version 2.0" - something new, something cool, something designed by YOU!

If you'd like to be the designer of the Foot Guitar v2, send your designs, drawings, photos, ideas to Footguitarv2@vigierguitars.com. Patrice Vigier and I will choose the guitar's design from all submissions, and the guitar will be unveiled in 2007.

Looking forward to seeing what y'all come up with!

I'm interested.. altough I don't have any kind of idea for it. I hope the winner is someone who can design a better guitar than the old version :hihi:

.this sounds interesting.. do you supposed he has another foot design in mind, something like an up date of what he already had, or do you think he is looking for something 100% different? :peace:

..also, i'm no guitar expert. But, should i design something, what's the techincal side of a guitart - how many knobs should it have, how many strings, do guitars come in different lengths to suit the user? - as you can see, i don't know sh*t about guitarts other than Buckethead has a red and white one and Slash has a gold one among many  ;D

Having said that...I just don't think that guitar has a place in GnR. It's very gimmicky. It's weird enough seeing someone playing with the guitar at waist level and not below. Chalk it up to years of seeing Jimmy Page and Slash slinging guitars low but even with a Les Paul Ron looks a bit square. At least the dude can play like a motherfucker.  : ok:

He should have it the way it was but a bit sleeker and cooler looking. Maybe black and silver stripes with chrome pick ups and an ebony fretboard with a bumblebee pattern inlay.

having just taken a look at the old one (guitar) i think i have an idea that could work for the new one. All i need to do now is realise the image in visual form, and that could take some doing. Maybe Ron is looking for the idea opposed to a fancy piece of art work, so i think i could suceed in that area. Heres to trying.. if and when i finished the master design and i post it off and i don't become the victor, then i'll post it here on HTDGTH  ;D

ron sure is a fucking nice boy, i agree tha the foot guitar should'nt be around on the gnr shows. don't no why maybe i'm just olfashion.

That's one hell of a guitar...  Can't really say I'm a fan of feet though..

And I heard Slash left because Axl didn't like his hair. Also heard that BH quit because Axl told him to get rid of the mask and the bucket. And apparently, Duff, Matt and Adler were too blond for GNR...

Well....any thoughts. I am currently workin on one. I should have it up soon!

it's not easy designing a new shape guitar. If you take into account the basics that have to be in place and also take into account that the guitar has to be use-able, it does not leave much room for design. After a few scribles, the only good thing i came up with was the shape of the end of the guitar where the strings can be tuned (what ever that part is called  :peace:)

Does anyone know when the "closing date" is?

Can't exactly remember where I saw it, but I'm sure I've seen Ron saying something like: "No, no closing date, but the sooner the better."

I have an actual different design concept for the guitar coming from the standpoint of a player very familiar with equipment but I don't have any skills in creating a picture for the design, what's everyone using (program) ? Or is anyone interested in submitting a collaboration efforet, I'll tell you the design and you just do the drawing and artwork on the guitar part....?

i just drew it on paper and scanned it and emailed it....
