Just heard on the local radio here in Ottawa , Ontario, Canada from the radio guy that Axl says CD will be out early 2007.

Just passing on the info.

Hummm, which will turn into sring of of 07' then fall of 07'... And it continues.

Also, If he doesnt say anything about the CD in the upcoming shows, I doubt it will be out this year? :crying:

Also, One of my friends was told me that he hasnt released the CD yet, because if it flops, no one will want to go see GNR. They want to make as much money as possble on this US tour B4 the release of the CD. It kinda makes sense in a F'd up way...

Unless the DJ has spoken directly with Axl, there couldn't possibly be any truth to this, as all other press says 'this year'

yea right. Axl says 2006 at the VMA's, but he's telling a local canadian radio station, that it's 2007..

This is total bullshit, Axl said publicly twice CD will be out this year, now some radio station in Canada is saying next year.  However, like a post before Early turns into spring, spring turns into summer, summer turns into fall.  I remember when Nov. 04 was the date, then Dizzy said Feb 05 was the fall back ... so you never know, but Axl said this year, so we'll see.

also you have the charlette press release saying end of this month

Maybe Axl operates on the Chinese calender, so when he says the album will come out later "this" year. . .

I wouldn't read much into it, and like the poster said "don't shoot the messenger". DJ's have to talk about a variety of bands (Pearl jam, Tom Petty, GnR, Metallica, VR, Auditoslave, Staind etc) they don't know more than all the fans on the messege boards of those bands.  He probably heard they are to be out with an album soon, myb got it mixed up with a few others, Metallica, VR etc.. After all, it's not like he had an official date he could read from. (Other than what Axl said) And he probably didn't watch the VMA's or read these websites to know he even said anything about it. It's not like this made CNN or Newsweek.

Yes, stay on topic is good advise... So my two cents goes like this:  often times, DJ's go by second and third hand information... If they don't source their reference, whatever they say is meaningless...  Who knows where they heard "early '07" but my bet is it's a misunderstanding of sorts...

more likely pluto's calendar since a year over there lasts 270 earth years...
and axl has been saying "this year" for 10 years now.

I would think the record company would know when the Album is coming out b4 a radio station would...  "The album will be out soon"- We've heard that one b4.

The forthcoming album should be called Pluto the Planet  :hihi:

Actually, what we've heard is "I dunno know if soon is the word".

Not sure why it's hard for people to remember that part. But even if they'd been saying "soon" for the last 8 years, we've only been told "this year" by Axl recently.

It'll be out by the end of the year.

there is so much hype now for the cd...that  i can't see it doing anything but flopping... even if its good...people are losing interest...
he will have to release someting right after to resurect himself...

If it is truly coming out this year (and I guess we have to believe that it is based on Axl's insistance that it is), then I just don't understand the lack of promotion.  He doesn't even mention the album at the tour stops.  It's mind boggling.  And worst, it cast doubt on whether or not the album is truly that close.  I have yet to see anyone here give one good reason or explanation as to why there is no promotion or mention of the album at these tour stops.

Well, papers = what the general public hear. And if the general public keep hearing about this BS, the band will never be a success. Thats why this GNR band will never be the band most of us hope to be...

And, where do we get our info from thats so much more reliable then the papers?

Maybe because it's not going to be this year at all. I remeber axl (during the illusion tour) saying this song will be on our next record or we have 2 record coming out. do you hear that this time? That's not a good sign. You would think no promotion = no success. That is how the business of selling things work.
