Title: Keys to getting backstage.... Post by: mraxlrisin19 on September 15, 2006, 06:02:27 PM Has anyone gotten any luck getting backstage at any of the gigs or meeting some of the guys? Id love some tips lol. I got my ticket to tampa, ready to showoff my 8 yr old GNR tattoo on my right are at the show and would a chance to see the band seperate from playing. Any tips fellas?

Post by: nonlinear on September 15, 2006, 06:07:48 PM 'getting backstage' isn't really all it's cracked up to be. all you'll find is a bunch of overweight roadies working. security will also be a bitch. Plus, bands don't 'hang out' backstage really, especially in these smaller venues (they are usually in a bus or at hotel and just ride to and from venue).
I've met a lot of bands, and i don't have any connections or anything, just a regular fan. if you're trying to meet the band, i would suggest 1) finding a venue with a stage door that the band has to exit to get to their bus (usually smaller venues are like this, but you won't see this at your major collesium or anything) 2) after the show, RUN to this stage door so that you're in the first row of people. there will probablly be about 20-30 other freaks like yourself waiting there, and usually there will be a fence holding the crowd back. you want to be in the first row so that if the band stops, you're right there and not just a hand holding a ticket stub and sharipe. 3) wait there until the band comes out, and hope that they stop and talk with you.
