Tell us what you would do with a time machine.  

When you travel back in time where would you go?  Would you want to change anything or just be a fly on the wall and watch everything happen?

I would probably go to all of the best concerts that ever took place.  Imagine, being at Woodstock....   :beer:

Id go back to the Sunset Strip circa 1980-1990. Kick arse bands all over the place, and in club venues!

I would head back to LA in 1980...spend a few years learning how to play drums then arrive just in time to meet a Mr Bailey and a Mr Isbell.....

I'd go back in time into the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s repeatedly to catch all the great bands I missed.

Then I go to May 30th 2004 in Lisbon and watch Gn'R perform.

Then I'd go back to the past couple of years and tell me self not to have sex with certain girls, because they're EVIL.

And then my life would be perfect.

I would stay at my current age and travel back to 1985 and LA. I would go to every GN'R/Hollywood Rose gig and learn to know the guys. I would tell them: Damn, youre good, I think your band will have big success in the future...

I'd go back about 2000 years and kick jesus in the balls.

I'd go back to ancient greece, and talk to the philoshophers, and tell them how we think now, i'll talk about electricty, i'll talk about relativity....
i'll them about derivatives, integers, sinus and cosinus waves.
I'll tell them all the math stuff i can remember.
i'll tell them about how atheist people are now.
i'll try to change things.
I'll show Socrates a book of his ideas before he actually think them.

I'd go back 2000 years ago too, and tell everybody to avoid jesus and any other liar at this time.  ;D

and then when im back here now, i'll see how it goes.
maybe we'll have a Cow on the cross in the churches, i dunno .....

1. I'd go to the 50's, 60's, 70's I would see all these great artists and bands, hippie movement, woodstock, Jimi Hendrix, the doors, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and find them before they will become stars..



2.I would go back to the 80's, would find Axl, put up the band with him and rest of the guys (three guitarists, mini me, Izzy, Slash) introduce my songs to them that I've done like WTTJ, Estranged, Coma, It's so easy and so on....while I would gave them 4 albums (Illusions, Appetite, Lies) worth of material, they would do at the same time new record.. so in the end of 80's we would have about my 4 albums ready + about one or two albums new material from the guys

So lemme see...if I had a time machine...
- I would go to Ancient Greece to debate with the philosophers.
- I would go to Ancient Rome and partake in an orgy.  :beer:
- I would go to Jerusalem, 37 CE to find out what Jesus is really like (hey, c'mon, it's a perfectly good question).
- I would go to a Carribbean island in 1492 when Columbus is getting there...maybe say something like, "Hey, beat it, bud, the English got here first!"  He probably won't notice the Canadian accent...
- I would go to the Deep South in the 1800s and protest against slavery.
- I would go to the Reichstag in 1933, kick Hitler in the balls as hard as I can, and then go back into the time machine.
- I would go back to the 1950s, and go to a school for the day, seeing what the reaction is among the crew-cutted kids when they confuse my hair for a mop.
- I would go back to the 1960s and hang with the Beatles, go to Woodstock, engage in some free love, and so on.
- And of course, I would go back to the 1980s Sunset Strip.  Actually, I might just abuse my power of time travel by tracking down Slash, Izzy, Duff, and Steven, showing them songs I "wrote" like "Welcome To The Jungle" and "Sweet Child O' Mine", suggest we form a band, and I would be the singer, doing my best squawking vocals.  In essence, becoming Axl.  Unethical, yes.  A lot of fun, hell yeah

I thought about it a bit more. And after some careful thought, I'd still go back in time and have sex (one more time) with as many of my ex's as I could.

That's about it.

It sounds to me like most of you people don't know that a time machine has existed for hundreds of years.  I was born in 1770, which fucking blew, so I had them send me to the present time.  When I arrived here, it wasn't quite as exciting as I thought it would be.  But the unfortunate thing about time travel, is that you can never go back.  It sucks.  So if you guys have any questions about the 1700's, feel free to ask me.  They were fucking boring times, but some of you might find it interesting. :smoking: :smoking:

If I had a time machine , I'd go  back in the 60's and 70's  because those times seemed to have fucking kicked ass. And I would go back to the days when Gn'R  were still together , I'd bring my Gn'R behind the music tape(vcrs were around back then) and play it for Axl to influence him to save the band's future . Also I'd go back in time before Mtv came out and do everything I could to stop it from coming on tv and ruin music.

91-93 Many cool stuff happened there. Not only GN'R rule.

Good call on the dinosaurs, it'd be a shame to miss out on them.  They arecool like giant squid, because they actually existed.  Real life monsters!  I'd love to go back and watch then eat other dinosaurs! :D

This is a little off topic - sorry - but theres a stage show here comming to Australia by the people who made the TV series "Walking with Dinosaurs" and it features FULL SIZE robot dinosaurs in their day to day life and "battling for supremecy". I got so excited when i read the add that I shelled out $100 for an A-reserve seat....hahahah...then i wonder why i can't get laid (see copious ranting in other threads).

Anyway...so yeah....another cool thing to do would be to go into the future and bring home some cool toys...you know...playstation 7...that kinda thing!

It would go back like 1450 years ago and in arabia to see Muhammad (pbuh) and see how he and the other muslims struggled until peace was restored.

There's a marked difference between (and I paraphrase), "the Bible is fiction," and, "I don't believe in the Bible." So take it easy on the eye rolling there, you half-cocked little harpy, my post was at least twice as sound as both of yours combined... ::)

Travelling back in time is stupid because no matter how much you try not to change things, just being there will change the future irreperably and it'll be further from what it was the further back you go because of chaos theory (aka the butterfly effect).

First I'd travel a few centuries into the future and bring back all cool technology and CD (as well as any other future Guns material and stuff of other bands I like).

Then, I'd travel into the far, far future to after our sun went supernova and see if we as a civillization (if we're still around) progressed far enough to live independent of this solar system. Then go even further to the end of the Universe to see if we became independent of the Universe itself.

No way could you survive that far into the future.  It'd be a suicide mission.
