They're obviously basing their info off the buzz that's generating.? That same buzz that only hopes CD is really coming this time.

Well, no matter what this album has gone through, the fall release date stands for me unless we hear otherwise.

Just got an email back from my friend in PR and Marketing for that retail record chain.

As of yet, they have nothing.  They've heard nothing.  They're expecting nothing.

I'll bet Metacritics are just taking Axl's words from the Trunk interview and projecting rather than having any "offiial" word.

You know the funniest thing?

I still have My Favorite Pillow on a "mix" CD of various MP3's I have in my car.

And I fire it up every so often...it's pretty catchy.

Though I think Ghost Town Road died a blazingly spectacular death.....

yeah this website is just posting on what they heard from axl, no reliability, besides even after amazon had CD up proved to be nothing, so until we see it thats when it will be released

Not to be pessimistic but more of a realest here. I'm not going to hold my breath for a 2006 release, mainly due to the fact that a final tracklist has not been selected yet, which means album sequencing and mastering hasn't took place. The album artwork probably won't have been done yet either. These things can take a long time for normal bands never mind Axl 'perfectionist' Rose! Plus he's on tour for most of this year so he might struggle to find the time to do the tasks mentioned above.

I'm really hoping for this year but i'm guessing mid 2007. Hoping to be proved wrong ?: ok:

Doug Goldstein gave me a rough copy back in 2000. the music is 100% done and the vocals are 80% finished :rofl:

This site is mimicing what other sites are doing and word of mouth.

Nothing is official.

Means nothing.

Ill put more stock in what Axl says regarding a release, more so than I would Metacritics...

So far this time around axl has done everything he has said he was going to do.  I really have a feeling this is the time.  I really believe this is it.

Look at the list of other CDs on the list... some of them have question marks and most of the "season 200X" listings are based purely on word of mouth and passing comments by the artists.

Also, as a site that collects album reviews, I don't think they really care if they are wrong or not.  This just shows that they've read about Axl's "music this year" and Fall comments so they threw it on there.

I have been on Metacritics site for a couple of years and the interesting thing about that site is that I haven't recalled them putting any info regarding CD on their site.  Even when BTM came out proclaiming Nov. 04, Metacritic did not mention that on the site.  So it's a bit interesting to me.

The fact that a tracklist hasn't been decided upon does not, in any way, mean that the songs are not finished.

Axl could have 50 totally finished songs, for all we know,  but has yet to decide which order they go in.

I supose your right, he could have 50 mastered and complete tracks (But unlikely), however album sequencing alone can be a nightmare if your a perfectionist. I'm sure choosing which songs are going on the CD and the order of them will be a lengthy process for Axl.

My Favorite Pillow showed me that its not as fun trashing someones song when they're actually reading you do it... That was a bit uncomfortable :hihi:

Anytime there is a rumored release date one of these websites post it.

That's my favorite part. "Fall 2006 -seriously". That page does not look reliable though.

axl is more relaxed, more personable and more visible than he has been in years - it really points to the fact that he is in a good place - cant help but think 2006 is it for CD.  didnt he make a comment about not knowing what to do with himself once the Uk/Europe tour had ended.  surely a perfectionist would have been back under cover twiddling with tracks and sequencing - not presenting at VMA's and partying around Ol' London Town??

When there is an actual official release date, we will know it.  In the meantime, any release dates listed (like this one) are mere speculation in the same sense that we are all speculating it will be released this fall.

To all the people who keep saying Metacritic is not "reliable" - it's one of the most reliable entertainment sites on the 'net. It takes ratings from professional critics and, unlike RottenTomatoes, does not accept ratings from Internet critics. You have to be a paid professional to qualify for the site.
