Title: Tour Rumour in South America - Argentina (link to source attached) Post by: Calcy on September 02, 2006, 06:08:01 AM Just saw this as I was going through an Iron Maiden fansite, maybe not true but thought I's share it with you.
GN'R and Maiden on the same festival bill = heaven! Shame I'm too far away! Rumour is that they're playing River Plate stadium in January with Seb Bach supporting. Assume there's more than one day as if Axl didn't want to support Maiden in '89 he probably doesn't want to now! If this has already been posted, or is in the wrong section, sorry! http://www.maidenfans.com/index.php?ACT=module&name=rwnews&cid=2 http://www.10musica.com/interior/noticia.php?idx=2878 (ORIGINAL SOURCE BUT NEEDS TRANSLATION) Title: Re: Tour Rumour in South America - Argentina (link to source attached) Post by: Voodoochild on September 02, 2006, 08:56:11 AM Yeah, there's a strong rumour out there.
Richard already said several times to people on my brazilian board that the band will play here in Brasil in January. I think this is almost done deal. When exactly is this Quilmes Rock Festival? Quilmes is a beer, that every year organize rock festival like this, but if the rumours of maiden guns n roses and metallica are true, it will be the greatest festival ;D Title: Re: Tour Rumour in South America - Argentina (link to source attached) Post by: nesquick on September 02, 2006, 03:23:54 PM River Plate Stadium? it would be great (solo show of course)! :D

Title: Re: Tour Rumour in South America - Argentina (link to source attached) Post by: nesquick on September 02, 2006, 04:12:49 PM Hopefully Rose and Dickinson can patch things up.? :-* I would prefer a GN'R solo show (the killers as opening act for exemple). No hard feeling against iron maiden, but GN'R sold more records than maiden and don't need them at all. They can do it by themselves. :) Title: Re: Tour Rumour in South America - Argentina (link to source attached) Post by: hRob on September 02, 2006, 04:25:54 PM Hopefully Rose and Dickinson can patch things up.? :-* I would prefer a GN'R solo show (the killers as opening act for exemple). No hard feeling against iron maiden, but GN'R sold more records than maiden and don't need them at all. They can do it by themselves. :) Is this really true? I can't believe that GNR with 3 real albums sold more than Iron Maiden with their enormous cataloque. Title: Re: Tour Rumour in South America - Argentina (link to source attached) Post by: PJ on September 02, 2006, 04:28:45 PM i think gnr now cant fill all then stadium..
im a big new bands supporter and i say that gnr concerts in south america are overrated lol.. everybody here has a very very negative opinion of gnr and axl... general people dont even know the band is still playing shows.. The difference is that maiden just sold records in the strictly metal circle, they never went really popular in the mainstream culture like Guns N' Roses, GN'R music and audience are much more larger and diversified. GN'R touched more people. I lead an argentinian GNR forum, and there are a lot of very big fans of this new lineup. Just a few people have that very negative opinion, and its people that would go to that concert anyway. There are a lot of fans in argentina. Some people know the actual lineup, some people dont, but in both cases, that people would go to the concert. GNR played four time in Buenos Aires, the four times at the biggest football stadium in Argentina. GNR has the potential and the history to do a show at an stadium here. Your wishes are not the reality. GN'R touched more people. Yes, GNR might have touched more people, BUT Maiden did not only sell records in the strictly metal circle. Maybe they aren't as popular as GNR, but that doesn't mean GNR has sold more than Maiden... Like someone said, I highly doubt they did. Maiden put out 24 albums (including their live ones), and GNR has only 7 (including Live Era and GH). Hopefully Rose and Dickinson can patch things up. :-* Yeah... That would be a dream come true, seeing both of them live in the same day. Title: Re: Tour Rumour in South America - Argentina (link to source attached) Post by: Pingouirose on September 02, 2006, 05:09:17 PM Iron maiden rock ! Their last album is very good and it would be a great explosive show if there were GN'R with them
