I've debated this a lot. ?I'm going to buy a copy no matter what - that's a given. ?So is it such a bad thing to download it if it's available earlier? ?It's not like I'm costing the band anything.

I think by virtue of being on this board it's safe to say we're all going to buy the album. I think the question that Frozen Inferno is asking, is if we'll wait till it comes out to listen to it, or if we'll download it and listen to it before the albums released.

Just the songs that were leaked. I'd be too curious about how they song as final product to wait. The rest of the album I'd wait to hear when I've got the cd in my hands.

Hell yeah. Still buy it the second stores open on its opening day though.

I probably won't DL it.  I might DL an ass quality rip and the first impression will be ruined.  BUT if no release date is anounced... then it will be a debate.

It's a good question, I have wondered about this myself. As others have said, if it's only a week or two before the release date, I think I will wait. I mean it wouldn't be that hard to do, right?  :nervous:

I have definitely decided that having waited so very long to be able to walk into a record store and buy this thing, I will probably do it 2 or 3 times. Twice for sure, and that is something I don't think I've ever done before.

I would just like the option to download it or not.  Then make a decision from there.

Whether I download or not, I am absolutely buying the album itself.  I want the artwork, I want the booklet, I want the CD in my hands.  To me, downloading is a chance to preview material and ensure that I want to buy the full album.  Having said that, I'd like to be surprised by new tunes on the disc.  I'm well beyond the point of questioning whether or not I'll buy the album.  On release day, it's mine.

I would not want to download it.  When it is released, I will want to look though all of the stuff that comes with it while listening to it, or before listening to it.  I don't do that with any other band or cd....but GNR is different in my book ;)   : ok:

thats a tough call. i would want to wait until the cd comes out, but if i had the chance to download it first, i probably would. even if i downloaded it i would still buy it when it came out. i got a chance to burn a copy of the velvet revolver cd a month before it came out and i still went and bought the cd the day it came out.

Considering I think the new demos/leaks suck, I will most definitely download it and it looks like I won't buy it when it comes out either....

Im planning to buy at least 3 CD's from Mexico City and if i can buy another editions from other countries like the states i will =)

After that i will download it and burn it for the parties my cd's always get scratched at the parties LOL

i don't know if i would or not.  i don't normally d/l music, i'm not into listening to music on the computer.  i'd rather have a disc that i can take wherever.  and when i do download something, i can never find it to listen to it again.  plus i like the liner notes and the pictures and all that stuff that comes along with the disc.  i would want to hear it, it would be killing me.....i'd be thinking about downloading it, i would want to, but i probably wouldn't. 

i will download the album but not listen to it unless the album falls through and doesnt come out

anything to help the record sales numbers go up! i think as we are all GNR fans we should buy the album.  id hate for some fag like usher to outsell chinese democracy in its first week

i wouldn't want to download it but that would mean i will have to stay off this board because there will be people who did and will start threads with lyrics and discussions. so if i'll keep off the board and it will leak within 2 weeks earlier that an official release date i think i'll wait.

Not a chance! Talk about ruining the wait by having to download it! I will be waiting for the proper day itself to actually have this baby in my hands instead of some downloaded version! I have always refused to download the leaks as well, I want to hear it properly!! Mike

If axl can get out of the fucking clubs actually sit down, master the album and set a relesase date.... then no fucking way i'll download it. But he can't get it together and give us a press release that actually says something more profound than 'Swedish security forced me in to pleading guilty so i could continue the tour' then fuck off dude i'm downloading. It might be only way to ever here the new music.

actually, i have met some really awesome people, some assholes too, struck up some lively conversations, and staved off alot of boredom while waiting on it.  it's probably kept me out of a lot of trouble and saved me tons of money :smoking:

It would be a tough decision, but I'd probably download it first. Grab a listen of the songs and then buy two CD's, one to open and stuff and one to leave in the packaging.

I'll buy 4 copies of it. One to take with me everywhere, one for the car to stay there, and two (Normal + Japanese ?) that will remain unopened, straight in the collection.

I'll buy it with eyes closed, just for studio versions of CD, The Blues, Maddy, Twat, IRS.
