Hi everyone,

First, if this shouldn't be in this section or shouldn't be its own thread I do apologize.? I just want to let everyone know that I live in Las Vegas and if you have any questions please feel free to ask me.? For those of you on a budget, I would recommend staying at the Comfort Inn. It is directly across the street from the Hard Rock.

Sept 15th - $109.00
Sept 16th - $109.00
Sept 17th - $89.00

You may find cheaper rooms but they probably won't be as close.? If you stay at the Comfort Inn you will not have to take a cab anywhere.?

Also, I work for MGM MIRAGE which owns most of the large hotels on the strip like the Bellagio, Mirage, TI, Mandalay Bay etc.. If you want, I can look into a group rate but that would have to be organized by one of the moderators of this site.?

Lastly, i have a friend that works at the Frontier. He can get really good rates too, again if someone wants to but together an organized group with confirmed bookings I would be more than willing to help.

Thanks man. Is this joint decent? Even I have my standards. I dont want some motel 6 or roach motel. The embasy I think is about the same price. How is the place man? I think I will stay 2 nights. The 15th and 16th. Double occupency. One bed...yea thats right...I said it.

I've looked into it, and the best choice hotel IMO is Palace Station Hotel And Casino. Its 4.6 miles from Hard Rock, and its a decent hotel... and its very cheap... I'm flying up saturday morning very early and leaving monday afternoon..... for saturday and sunday at the hotel, costs 170 bucks. (120 for sat, 50 for sunday). Thats insanely cheap. Comfort Inn is average. It's pretty clean. ?Howard Stern made some of his staff stay there last time they were in Vegas and they didn't seem to complain too much. ?Embassy wouldn't be too bad either. ?It's just down the street as well. ?Only advantage Comfort Inn has over it is that you can walk to Hard rock in about 3 seconds and the best German Beer house in the world is right across the street as well. ?

If anyone wants to meet up for some pre-parties I would say Rainbow Room or Hofbrauhaus. ?Hofbrauhaus is huge, would be a perfect meet up place. ?Fantastic beer too!

No problem, Palace Station is not as close as it sounds.  4.6 miles is a long way in this town haha.  It is definitely a cab ride and it's in a pretty ghetto part of town.  Comfort inn isn't in a bad spot, there is quite a few things to do around it, and Hard Rock is 3 seconds away.

This is SORT of off topic, but I live in Miami and am looking for a flight to Vegas... and am wondering... would a Saturday morning 6AM flight be cutting it too close? I just don't want to pay for that extra night (120 more bucks) so maybe I'll get a middle of the night flight and arrive in the morning and check in? What do you guys think?

what time would you get to Vegas?  The Airport is 5 minutes from the Strip and about 10-15 minutes to the Hard Rock.  Guns probably won't go on until like 11p or so, so you should be fine if you get in before 6pm or 7pm.  Hell you could probably get in at 10p and be ok lol.

Well it says Duration: 7 Hours 21 minutes. And theres one place where we have to change planes. I didn't think it takes that long but i trust Expedia... Also, the time difference is confusing... 11pm there is actually 2am here.... so i guess that means i'll be ok... Looks like I'll be taking that flight.....

It's 350 bucks for a roundtrip ticket, so that's pretty damn good..

Youll be fine. Im suprised there arent any direct Miami/LVS flights. The Vegas airport is basically ontop of the damn strip anyway so you can get there at 10pm and youd probably get there before Axl.

There are a few, but none that fit my timeframe. I tried the Ft. Lauderdale airport also because its smaller, and cheaper flights.. But again, none that really fit my timeframe :(

I am still deciding on where to go.

Amerisuites is a great hotel, ive stayed there many times and the rooms have fridges and couches and microwaves and they are big enough to have mini gatherings.


PRE PARTY needs to be in the Hofbrau House!!! they have giant beers and its a huge hall so big groups are no problem!!!

Hey, Terribles Hotel Casino is kind of right there to (looks right next to Comfort Inn. The reviews were decent on trip advisor. Rooms are 109 for Friday and even less for Saturday.

Terribles is a local chain here.  They have quite a few hotels.  They are nice.  Nothing fancy.  They should hace a casino in the hotel if you are into gambling. CI, Embassy and those types of hotels won't have a casino.

Alright. I made reservations at the Terribles. Hope I can get the 2 tickets for the 16th. I will check in on the 15th and check out the 17th. Oh man... I hope I get the tickets!

For the pre-party, I would say the Rainbow....I've been there many, many times, you can find me there almost every Friday after work, lol. Great food...drinks aren't that horribly priced (cheaper than the Hard Rock anyway).....great tunes, great atmosphere, right across the street from the Hard Rock, and , most importantly.....It's the fucking Rainbow!

the rainbow in vegas is a PALE, PALE imitation of the original. in my opinion its just ok, the food isn't bad though..

I thought the Hofbrau House was way better and had way bigger beers too :)

I am staying at the Alexis park resort which is right across the street from the Hard Rock and all 3 nights are less than one at the Hard Rock. :hihi:

One thing I've learned about Vegas is you're never in your room unless you're sleeping or getting laid  :smoking:

One of the best strategies if you're looking to save money is, as phreakofnature has already said to just stay at a normal hotel like the Comfort Inn or Best Western at least on Friday and Saturday nights.  You can stay right where all the action is and pay a lot less.  If you want to gamble you can literally walk 30 seconds and be at a casino

After much scouring of the web,I booked my trip through Orbitz, I got 3 nights at MGM Grand plus airfare from West Palm Beach, FL? $496 per person.? Great deal!!!? I am soooo psyched for this trip.? I swear its destiny that these shows were scheduled during my last week of vacation!!!! ;D

Not bad at all, my bf and I got a deal from Fri. to Mon. from NY including nonstop airfare from Newark and hotel right across the street from the venue for around $860 total on Expedia : ok:

I have never been to Vegas so I have no idea where to go.  So anyone planning a get together let me know so I can stop in and say hi to my fellow gunners!  I am staying right across the street from the HR at the Comfort Inn, got the best package deal for there. ;D

I was just there last week at the Venetian to see PHANTOM OF THE OPERA! My favorite things in Vegas were THE SECRET GARDEN at the Mirage, beautiful white lions and tigers and just walking around all the hotels! Great shopping at THE FORUM in Caesar's Palace, the Bellagio is beautiful as is the Venetian. The rollercoaster at NEWYORKNEWYORK was pretty scarey but fun.

Also make sure to wear comfortable shoes! If you don't have comfortable shoes you will be miserable! Trust me on this!

Hey Annie, Honestly...you don't have to worry about getting close. I 've been to many shows at the Joint, and it's so small you can snake your way up front whenever you want. And, even if you settle for the VERY BACK...lol, which I know you won't, and I won't either, it's still VERY close.

I always go in at the last minute, I do not like lines......

And the Rainbow looks good to me, fitting for the event..

I was there 5 years ago and i was in front but it's kind of a blur as to rember the venue. I was in mezz 1 at Hammerstein which was awesome. There was a small picture of me in Rolling stone magazine right under axl's microphone at that concert. they had the same picture in japanese Burrn magazine and I could really see that it was me!

But...the Rainbow does seem more appropriate. It would be cool if we can all work something out. Im not sure how we would know who is who from here, from anyone else. But fuck...lets work something out. Pre-party would really make the evening that much cooler. Sharing the experience with fans and friends from here would be real cool and meeting up before the big show sounds fun. I'm in.

I probably won?t be going to the show, but I might meet up with everyone beforehand.  Maybe, might be to traumatic that I won't be able to go haha.  To many bills this month, can't afford the extra $150 for the show.  Maybe I can save up before show time and get one off someone who has an extra ticket.

I'm heading out of Newark on Friday morn, and flying back Monday morn. We'll be staying in the New York, New York (got friends that work there that got us a GREAT deal). It's a big farther away from the Hard Rock than the other hotels, but I think it'll be fine.

So i think we should have the pre party in two places.. starting maybe about 4 at the Hofbrau and then an hour or whatever later we can go to the Rainbow real quick to get some food and then go to wait in line if anyone wants to. 

what do you guys think?

usually the line doesn't matter too much because you can get close to the front pretty easily, last time i didn't wait too long as i recall....

Just a little note, we did that in Dublin. Some of us went to a pub in the city center and then moved to one closer to the venue where we met more board members.

See you there. I'm staying at New York New York also.  I've got the casino rate of $99.00.  I think the place kind of sucks, but every time I go to vegas, I sleep by the pool anyway after staying out all night. 

Count me in! I 'd rather have people to hang out with then stand in line all day since I am so small so that i don't get crushed in the pit! We also :hihi: have to find a way to hit the band's post party! And if there  is an acoustic show too!

Hey any other old school fans going to the Saturday show? No disrespect (ANd still cant wait to see you all there), but I am wondering. Any of you going see the old band live and were fans from back in the day?

I am only 23, however, my first concert ever was Gn'R in 1993. I was 9, and I started listening to them when i was like 6. So although at the time I didn't know what the hell Mr. Brownstone was about or anything like that, I thought it sounded awesome, and Gn'R is all I ever listened too.

I guess I am an "old school" fan since I first saw them in 1988 when I was 14 and have seen them on every tour since then but this will be the 1st time I am traveling clear across the country from NY to see them! :yes:

Really? I was just freaked by seeing all the traffic around me, I was fine as long as my eyes were closed. I normally love rollercoasters.

The coaster on the Stratoshpere isn't thetre anymore....the other rides are, but not that, besides, the only cool thing about it was that it was on top of the stratosphere....other than that it was weak...A cool coaster is on the state line, at Buffalo Bills...thats worth the money....on the pre party thing...The Raonbow doesnt even open till 5....I will be there around 6....I have friends from out of town coming in, so im not gonna waste my time at the other place, im sure they wouldnt be to intrested, but anyways, I hope everyone coming here has a great time!! i most likely wont run into you, but the shows will be a blast!! I put my mask on around 11:00 and usually asleep by 11:30 right after watching the WBYU sermon.

I'm setup here in the New York, New York and it's amazing. I have an amazing fucking view of the Airport and mountains, along with half of the strip. Only downer is that they charge $11 USD a day for broadband internet :(. Right now I'm using a Verizon Wireless Broadband Card thing I stole from my moms work, but it's total shit.

But, I hope everyone ends up with good hotels!
