Title: Looking for Rock In Rio III (Lossless audio) 15/01/2001...
Post by: Liquid Drum on August 05, 2006, 09:53:57 AM
Hey all.

I'm looking for this - I believe its an audio rip from dvd.

I started d/l a version the other day but that it lossy and I know this must exist in lossless somewhere.

If you have it please share it (maybe a torrent on DIME or something).
If not I'm more than happy to trade for it.

Also a freq analysis would be needed. Open the file in 'Hub audio tools' http://www.nickeh.com/links.html.

Scroll down to find the download. Then open a file and click freq analysis and save the image and post it.

Sorry - I'm just a little bit anal about audio quality,
Cheers,

Simon.

Well, if you are really concerned about audio quality then stray away from DVD audio rips since DVDs store audio in a lossy format. I dont think youll have much trouble with people posting it in FLAC...

I understand that DVD audio is mostly lossy, but a friend told me that RIR normally boradcast their stuff in PCM. Just wondering if such a thing exists.

I was also told that a better dvd rip must exist - the one I have is glitchy.

it's not generally true that DVDs audio is in lossy format - most official DVDs use AC3 (Dolby Digital) or even DTS, that's not lossy. the question is what format is used for bootlegs DVD, I believe AC3 as well, so there's no problem to convert that into FLAC. authors, correct me if I'm wrong

Yup, as Isaid before I understand that. It seems the copy I have is from a crappy version of this dvd (prob high gen, maybe even vhs), I'm after audio from the best dvd source if possible.

Thanks.

P.S. The dvd would be nice also (but I'd trade for that as I can't d/l dvds easily).

I've uploaded that show at DIME a few months ago (straight from the Silvers CD's). It is still alive. You should ask for seeders. It is 899 megabytes (Silvers > Exact Audio Copy > WAV > FLAC Frontend Level 8)

Thank you! Just started to download.

Here's a link to the torrent: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=63842

Please, could somebody seed this for us?  :) There seems to be a few peers but no seeders.  :-\

You're welcome. I do not have the files anymore, I just have the original discs. But be patient cause that torrent turns active every one or two days.   : ok:
