Title: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: slashisvr on August 01, 2006, 09:51:42 AM Dizzy would have been on AFD provided he didnt break his arm or something, do you think AFD would of sounded better or worse?
personally i think it would have been worse, i love the AFD album and wouldnt have changed any of it, in the Illusions albums some of the songs would have sounded better without dizzy IMO any thoughts? Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: Genesis on August 01, 2006, 10:32:14 AM Prolly would have been the worst thing to happen to mankind... I can just hear it now, WTTJ on keyboards. Yuck. :P
Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: Tomorrows on August 01, 2006, 12:28:59 PM Yea. It would have sucked badly. Nothing against the guy, theres just no place for him on that album.

Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: mikegiuliana on August 02, 2006, 03:20:51 AM I know he knew them because they were next door in the recording studio from eachother.. true he broke his arm, but afd is a masterpiece and is best left the way it was.. I think they wouldn't have looked as tough with a keyboard player, plus axl might had thrown softer shit in if dizzy was around
Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: Tomorrows on August 02, 2006, 04:04:00 AM So if he was going to be a member early on do you think its true that bringing him in for UYI caused a lot of tension in the band?
Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: JeDr on August 02, 2006, 05:52:00 AM Didn't the new band do a re-recording of AFD? If so and if we ever hear it, then we'll know :-) In that case, even Pitman would be on it, hehe.
Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: liesin on August 02, 2006, 05:57:04 AM dizzy is really amazing but no one touches afd!!!

Post by: Bridge on August 02, 2006, 10:46:19 AM having Dizzy on AFD would make those songs sound like shit, the same way the songs on UYI suffered with Dizzy's work. Except for "Estranged", "So Fine", and "November Rain", and maybe one other, the songs on UYI didn't need keyboards, and the keyboards sounded way out of place on the rest of them.
Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: Neemo on August 02, 2006, 11:58:17 AM they prolly woulda sounded more like Roth era VH :hihi: and i don't hink he was meant to be in GnR then where did you get that info from :-\
@ Bridge...I don't think Dizzy was on the UYI records  at least he says that on the making of DC vid :peace: Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: jimmythegent on August 02, 2006, 08:50:00 PM i dont think he was particularly in the loop at that stage ... but anyway
no, no and no again. Appetite does not need his pianos /and or bongo drums Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: AdZ on August 02, 2006, 08:53:50 PM It already has congas..
Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: chad_er33 on August 04, 2006, 07:00:46 PM dizzy would have been better off with bon jovi in those days :hihi:

Post by: tHeElEcTrIcSiNtAr on August 05, 2006, 11:00:47 AM A few of the songs on Appetite have bongos and percussion. : ok:
Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: GNVR on August 05, 2006, 05:02:21 PM No good. I'm glad he wasn't on the album...
Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: liesin on August 07, 2006, 07:11:25 AM there's a lot of bs 'bout dizzy's work on UYI, give the man some cred! I totally dig his work on UYI, can't imagine those songs withouy piano.

Appetite does not need his pianos /and or bongo drums Listen closely to Mr Brownstone. i think he meant the extra bongos... you know, like he just plonks along with the drums live when hes not doin keys. Title: Re: if dizzy was on AFD?? Post by: tomass74 on August 08, 2006, 10:43:32 AM I think UYI would have been better without Dizzy also...
