Title: 2006 Bootlegs in Europe--Recap----DISAPPOINTMENT
Post by: jaypayton on August 01, 2006, 12:36:41 AM
over 30 shows in europe and maybe 4 shows that are considered good to very good quality...no radio broadcasts and no soundboards.....hardly any real clear DAT'S......what happened???

as an example the Chili Peppers just did 2 months in Europe also and there is at least 10 !!  Great soundign shows ranging from soundboards that leaked to crystal clear Dats that destroy budapest and vienna.............i was hoping with all the new technology out there we would have a bunch of great GNR boots but it minds well be 1987 all over again.........Not to be negative but I was relaly looking forward to some crystal clear boots....

Not disappointed at all. Bootlegs are cool but going there is so much better. It's nice to have a souvenir though. I'm glad with what I got from Dublin, Paris and Wembley. I'm waiting for Oslo but if I don't have it that's not a big deal.

I'm very pleased with the Paris DVD, even though it's incomplete, and I really, really want to see a DVD of Dublin! Those were the two best shows I've seen. I heard the aud shot from Rock Am Ring is great (didn't have time to download it). The GN'R community has never been a very sharing community, so I'm actually pretty pleased with what we got from this tour. This ain't the Pearl Jam or U2 community, we just have to deal with it. :)

man you should try the thin lizzy community! The word share isn't in their dictionary.

Indeed. ?I cant understand why people moan about quality or the fact that we arent getting enough boots. ?Its basically easy. ?If you dont like it, then practise the following steps....

1)Go and spend the money for a decent MD Recorder and microphone.

2) Go buy the discs

3) Pay to go and see the concerts, whilst having to smuggle the equipment in (not always that easy).

4) Record the concert under the glare of security, whilst making sure it is recording ok and changing the discs at exactly the right time, checking batteries etc

5) Then transfer it onto computer, whilst making sure the best possible quality is given.
This includes having to get more equipment to transfer it.

6) Then split the tracks and then share to the public.

Still sound easy and simple? ?Believe me it is not.

The best bootleg is the one from the Wembely 30th show. Too bad only 1 new song was played.

People will make threads to complain about just anything.  Jeez.  I personally have seen a ton of boots around for purchase, on torrents, on direct uploads, etc...You just have to know where to look.

And seriously, if you are going to complain about a lack of something why not get out there, spend 1000's of dollars on the equipment, try not to get thrown out of the show for bringing the stuff in, and start filming shows to share?

Gunnershome, I havent released my Wembley gig yet, thanks and credit goes to Anythinggoes for that.  I will release all the shows soon.  All are basivcally on a par with my hammersmith recording.

We will see more stuff getting released, I can count on that but we all needa little 'patience'.

Want better..... You do it.  Thank you to all the bootleggerz who ahve done hard work to get us what we have.  Some one offered 1000 bux on the spot for a pro shot and was turned down... so if you want a soundboard or a proshot go ask bill gates for a loan motherfucker.

Well, im not big trader, but im collecter, i upload and i seed.? ?: ok:? ?So far the shows i have from 2006 are pretty decent, compared to old bootlegs.. remember the quality of canda 92, or texas or tokio 88, lisbon etc... i dont know, as technology is gettin better and cheaper, those 06 shows are great for my personal use, in fact, if i would have to rate them the shows i have, it would be like this:

1- Rock Am Ring (aud shot, 2 DVDs):? I dont know why, but this one its the one that i've liked more, because of the setlist, and how the show develops.
2- Rock in Rio 5? (aud exp. Will's vers):Simply love it, like the description says, quite an experience.
3- France bercy (Will's vers): I dont know, maybe 'cause of the close ups, awesome quality for an audience shot. Also love the way Will makes his menus.
4- The 4 hamerstein show. well, not much to say, but quality still great, thought not great shots on some parts of some DVDs.
5- Grecee (aud shot) Dont know much about this one, but i like even though it was released as VCD, still pretty damn good.
6- Italy Gods of metal (aud shot) have only disk 1. Shot its little far. This one has this "i dont know" that i like.
7- Hammersmith apollo (aud shot) This one was released as mpeg, and incomplete and a little shaky or blurry. Still, almost complete, thats why i like it.
8- And of course, all those clips of polony, download and the vcd BTD made from novarock

Im gettin from dime budapest in DL DVD. This one it seems to be one of the best, but still, lets wait till it gets full seed.

So, in my opinion, not dissapointment, not at all, in fact, im surprised of who quick those bottlegs surfaced. And like i said, i dont know much of video techniques, but digital video its wonderful.  So, for me, again, no dissapointment
