Title: Checking the type of motherboard installed on your pc
Post by: Izzy on July 26, 2006, 06:11:06 PM
Is there a quick and easy way (i.e without dismantling the machine) to check the type/spec/make etc of the motherboard installed on your computer?

I've managed to misplace the documentation that came with the model...

best was is to actually take the side cover off the tower and read the model # right off the board....dont forget the revision number. it's usually located by the PCI slot or by the processor sometimes a sticker on the chipset...last resort is to dl a program like cpuz or something

ie - a7v8x v2.0 (where v2.0 is the revision)

On some motherboards it writes on the screen the first seconds after you start or restart the PC...and then you press PAUSE and look
