why can i never eat all the food they give me

i ask for a meal for one the amount i get could feed two easily maybe three

1 large container of egg fried rice
1 large container of chow mein
6 Large Pork Balls
Tub of Sweet and Sour
Big bag of Prawn Crackers

why do they do this i never understood it

That's what I loved about living near Chinatown in Boston.  I could get an entire day's (or two days sometimes) food at a Vietnamese restaurant there for $6.

Ahhh, Chinese food.  We'll do that once every other month or so.  You really don't want to consume too much of that stuff...it's really not good for you (the good tasting stuff that is).

Gimme a quart of shrimp lo-mein, the dinner special of General Tso's chicken with pork-fried rice, and a pint of won-ton soup and we're set for 2 full meals.   :peace:

P.S.  This thread takes me back a few years here at HTGTH...I still remember one of the marketing suggestions for Chinese Democracy put forth by a member here being something like selling the album at Chinese restaurants.  :hihi:  Or, selling the album with fortune cookies or some shit like that.  :hihi:

I should have mentioned, the large portions...marketing. ?There's a reason Chinese restaurants are so popular in the United States. ?Most 3rd world nations struggle for scraps, and we gorge. ?Sad, I guess it's human nature. ?It tastes great, it's cheap by ways of the dollar...however, if you overdo it, the stuff isn't such a great deal. ?Coronary bypass surgery aint cheap, and just think of all the potentially fatal risks associated with obesity. ?

Only ever heard of chicken balls myself.  I like a bit of kung po personally  :drool:

What's with the crispy beef strips?  They're lush but only seem to be skin/fat of some sort.  And they're not crispy.  I love a chinky now and then but to be honest I don't think more than one a fortnight is a good idea, sometimes I just over eat and feel bad the next day!

food is sacred in china.. so when there plentiful amounts of it.. they serve huge doses!

i live in a richer part of paris, with mostly old snobby people
and there is this street, where there is like 3 cheap japanese.chinese restoraurants
and they are always EMPTY !

it makes me sad
i always see the perfectly aligned tables, eveyrthing clean, and the boss waiting, behind the counter, just waiting and waiting.

makes me sad.
i wanna go there and eat, but the food looks so disgusting, and without customers i dont know how he can maintain food quality

For an easy to budget price, you get as much Lemon Chicken, General Tao's Chicken, Chicken Balls, etc, plus free refills and even ice cream when your nearly all full : ok:

Because we're all idiots. I always order too much. I figure that, when I'm hungry, you know, really hungry, I assume that I could eat everything. You know, everything. In the world. So I just order it all. There are only two ways I can feel after a meal; like I haven't had enough, or sick.

I can honestly say that I've never fucked a mother. But I appreciate the title nonetheless.

When it comes to Chinese food, I prefer governor's chicken (or General Gau's/Tso's), hot and sour soup, a couple shrimp egg rolls, and pepper steak.

Japanese: Gimme sushi.  Mackerel, tuna, shrimp, salmon, and clam nigiri, as well as some rolls-- Boston roll (tuna, lettuce, spicy mayo), New York roll (salmon skin, cucumber, and radish sprouts), and Philly roll (salmon and cream cheese).

Vietnamese: Phở!  I goddamn love Phở!  Gimme some Phở T?i Nạm Gầu, a couple Gỏi cuốn, and G? Xả.  A B?nh M? with fried egg, carrot, cilantro, and onion with a little soy sauce is good too every now and then.

Thai: Gotta have my pad thai, tom kha with chicken and shrimp, and chicken satay.

I lived off Asian food while in college.  There was a Thai place near my band's practice place and my college was 2 blocks from Chinatown.  I used to walk through Chinatown every day on my way to class my junior year.  Found myself buying a lot of sushi, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and even some Malaysian.  I really miss it here in Texas, especially the Thai food.

Finally getting some Thai food tonight for the first time in nearly a year!
