Not sure if this is the right section, nor do I care.

Anyway, did anyone else hear the Matt interview on local Vegas radio today? Apparently VR is playing a gig here tonight, not that I care since I cant' stand that band... But anyway, He basically confirmed what he wrote in his blog about meeting up with Axl in New York.

Also, he said that when they were conversing Axl said. 'I thought you hated me man, that's why I never tried to contact you? funny that Axl would even care what he thought.

Matt also said he would be down for a reunion. He said he doesn't know if he would get "the call" or not if it were to ever happen. He also said that duff and slash would probably be down for it as well. The DJ asked him if Slash and Axl have made amends, Matt said "No comment, the recent reunion rumors caused a riff in VR so I am not going to talk about their status at all"

He also mentioned that there are several multi million dollar deals just sitting out their for them to reunite.

He also went on to say that all lead singers are wacky and if they could handle Axl they could Handle Scott, that's why they picked him as a singer.


Any way, that's it, was interesting.

It would be nice, I think the only way it would happen, is if the current Gn'R lineup went their seperate ways.   That shouldn't happen, and I'm sure Axl is very happy with where he is now.  But who knows.  I don't know the details of anything. 

Status of new VR album?

God only knows.  Remember before Contraband came out, they were all over the place, doing interviews, on fuse, and all sorts of stuff.  We definately weren't lacking news.  Now they've gone under the radar for some odd reason.   There's gotta be something going on that we don't know about yet.

God, the current members have been far to dilligent and loyal to be constantly expected to just be dropped like a concrete block into the ocean by the fanbase...If nothing else, they deserve to have the fruits of their labour heard and judged based on its own merit.

Axl will release CD, tour on it for a while, and then probably assess his options. He is not a retard, and knows that his career payday would be for a reunion. If Pink Floyd and Roger Waters were able to get on the same page, then there is no doubt that at some point we will see Axl and Slash on the same stage again. And much like when Floyd played together at Live 8, we will remember the magic that made us love the band in the first place.....and all that the pettiness robbed the fan base of.

I don't think steve would get the call if there ever was a reunion.... it definitely would be matt. Steve's too much of a fucked up dude.

Exactly - but assuming Adler's still alive when GNR goes into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he's getting inducted along with the rest of the Appetite lineup.

I hope Axl doesn't pull a Debbie Harry and only allow the current lineup of his band to perform at the Hall of Fame ceremony.

Stinson said a year or two ago that he'd step aside if Axl wanted to do a reunion.

And then he'd probably get angry, or something.  I think Steve is interested in a reunion though.

i think every member of the original line-up is interested in a reunion. i mean they rocked the planet. i don't think that a stadium tour can compare to what is happening now.

we'll see them together again but i don't think that time is now.

I don't know, Axl seems to be getting even crazier these days, and I'm not sure how Slash & Co. would react to him.

I don't think that Tommy would have another option actually.

no reunion please! Let the new band release CD and show the world what they can do. The old band was cool but the new guys "now" are Guns N' Roses and i don't want that to change. Slash ,Duff and Matt can go on doing uninsoired rock n'roll with Scott  :confused:

Just because they would be interested in a reunion doesnt mean theyre not serious about VR does it? I mean it could be considered that Axl isnt serious about GNR with all the shit hes pulled.

i can't see a reunion. The new band are behind the new music. It would be so half ass'ed if Slash and Duff arrived on the picture and attempted to learn and perform the new songs  :hihi:

Matt likes every one, he is out to look after no.1, himself. As GnR have proved time and time again, swapping drummers is no big deal, it don't affect the sound too much. If GnR needed a new drummer and Matt was offered the chance, he'd drop VR quicker than you could say...  big black bush  :hihi:

I really dig the new band, but a reunion with old members is bringing back all my hero's in the same band again...yeah, I would prefer to see that!! I think as Matt met Axl, Slash or Duff should also meet Axl someday, have nice talk about the old days, have some beers, few laughs...and the reunion is a fact!!! then how can you even consider a fan of Guns N' Roses? how can you tell that you like this lineup if you take them all as already out of the band. this is called hypocrisy. can you imagine new tracks played by old lineup? I can not. that's why this lineup will prevail - maybe with some little personal changes (who knows), but the core will prevail. after release of Chinese Democracy, they're already going to release next album. so fuck reunion :hihi:

that been said, i dont want them back together, because after hearing the new material, I love the way the band is going, and from seeing the new band Live, im happy with how they play the old songs... i dont see the need in a full time reunion.

If there would be a re-union, no one would give a flying shit about this new band (exept few people on htgth). Sadly that just states how solid the new line-up really is.

I saw VR and the newgnr. I? think the old band (gnr) is just the real deal. better than anything. Keep Fortus though.

the ONLY reason i dont want a full time reunion is because I wouldnt want to see them make a new album and it not be as good as the other stuff.
One of the reasons why the break up of that lineup shud stay broken is because I like the whole "what if they stayed together? how fucking awesome would the music be?". Id rather have that, than the risk of having something shit. (even though it is hard to imagin)

Also I love the music the new guns is making, it is amazing. I love it all. and im happy with the way things are, because they can play the old songs good enough for me to enjoy and not get pissed that the originals aint still together.

So if a reunion was to take place, let it be a short tour, playing the old songs, the way it WAS. And let the New Guns carry on with whats NOW.

It hurts me to say it, but it really is that simple.




i doubt it, one of the reasons slash went was because Axl got a guitarist without asking him and expected him to just go with it.

however, if you were to say that if Axl asked Slash about trying someone like Fortus, then maybe that would have worked... hmmm

I'd wait to see a full transcription rather than what this original poster has written. Look at his post instantly mentionin his distaste for VR. Also it could of been taken out of context or a what if question.

We all worship the original line-up, but it belongs in the past!
NewGNR (I prefer calling them Guns n' Roses) are a great band, I love their hard work and respect them.  They've been touring all this time just to show us what a great band they are and I'm convienced! As soon as CD comes out, they're gonna be huge.

The only reason I'd have suggested Fortus, was as a replacement for Izzy rather than having gotten Paul Huge. Who knows, maybe with Fortus in there, Slash would've stayed?

Not 100% sure don't quote me on this.....but it sounded like the members of VR didn't know what was up with Slash there for a while.  Duff and Scott both talked around it (well Scott tiraded), but it seemed they were uncertain of what was going on.  Probably nothing, just didn't have contact with Slash for a few weeks and then all these rumors pop up.  Then boom all of a sudden Sorum and Axl are in the spotlight.  I'm sure everyone was okay once they all got together and talked it out. 

if everything is ok then why is it not a good subject :P
