They have a thread there for each of the upcoming concerts, I'm pretty sure we'll get the setlist/info from the shows from here.

No full update yet BUT here are two interesting bits:

They did NOT open with Suckertrain Blues, they opened with something else.

They played Roadhouse Blues.

they opened with Do It For The Kids...

I've heard they played only Contraband stuff and Roadhouse Blues.  That's very, very lame.

I remember some other shit band doing something like this... damn these fuckers...

The House Is Alive could be another. The fans would atleast get to hear it, now when it seems to be AWOL from the Monster House OST.

How does this not look very good for them?  Jesus Christ this is probably a warm-up show....they haven't played a set in a while.  I can't believe how people on this site are quick to judge something over an instant happening.  Just like all the Bumblefoot leaving GNR rumors....you guys are far too quick to start with conspiracy theories.  Calm down and enjoy the show.

Yeah that pretty much sucks, I was expecting a revamped setlist, but with only 1 album what can you do  :(

i hope they plan on doing another big tour.  i would love to see them live again :)

2 years ago this thread would be 7 pages long by now... but with axl being out right now.... nobody seems to care....

I wasn't expectring anything new to be honest.. It's not like this is a major tour.. I ecpect new music when things are set..

Cool - lets hope they swing by Sydney again! Im sure once Libertad is out (which should be very soon) well get all the new stuff.

VR probably don't want a shit load of of bootlegs on the net. The second they played something new it would be on here. Look at GnR, in the long road it's a bad move as people have already half the album already. At least when Libertad comes we'll get a bigger surprise.


But I do agree on one thing, they should at least the "Covers" mixed.  I'm sick of hearing it's so easy and browstone by them. Play something else.

If they had two albums you'd be hearing new music... I'm sure much of their music isn't finished or selected so they aren't playing anything new.. This seems like a warm up set of shows..

since I'm not going to any og these shows I don't care what they play;  went to see them NYE and wanted variation and got none; since then, I resolved not to see them till they had a new album out or I saw a change in the setlist;  since I saw it 3 times

Well this was just a small warm-up show, no new songs played. And it's not like they havent performed in the last 10 years. They just had a huge tour...
Im sure when new songs/album drops there will be a massive intrest in them again.

Even though there's nothing new (aside from Roadhouse Blues) that's a pretty cool setlist they played - 6 kickass cover songs along with the majority of Contraband. And I've read on the VR board that the band was really tight too.

The reason for these shows is probably just to get them gelling together as a band after their break since last year's tour.

Apparently the Contraband songs they played all had extended parts and new added bits and pieces too. Would like to hear some boots from these shows.

I wonder if the monster house song was made for the movie and not something they just created as a song they liked..?? If it was made directly for the moive around a scene or something we might never hear them play it.. It's like that F&Fs playing, it suited that scene but it's not good for vr..

I love how people bitch about the setlist who weren't even there.  I bet the folks there had a great time.  I've seen VR 3X's and each time they delivered.  I can't wait for Slash and crew to return to Philly.  I'd have no problem with a Contraband heavy setlist.

Looks to me like the fellas are trying to get back into playing shape and get the creative juices flowing.

I've seen them 8 times and that 8th time(New Years Eve in NJ) for the first time I was disappointed. I don't know if I'd go see them play the same exact show again...but they won't once the real tour starts so its all good

That would be kinda cool I guess. Honestly though, I know I like to hear songs that I know at a show. Most of the people there do too. New songs don't usually go over too well. The only good thing about this day and age is that we would most likley hear it on the internet.  I thought the setlist was fine... It's just a little warm-up week of shows...  I do still wish they would throw in "Come On Come In" sometimes and "LTA" although they most likely will never play that one.

Not so different when two members from VR were part of AFD lineup. Contraband sounds closer to AFD raw rock than UYI era to me.

of course. If this was 1991 and duff matt and slash were doing something on the side the threads wopuld be huge on a gnr site.. It's now 2006 so more axl fans are running around who blame duff or slash so of course you'll see less activity in a gnr forum for v.. Kind of sad being slash did all those amazing gnr solos

Maybe the point of the VR shows is to test the fan base, and see if they can compete with GNR, I mean GNR after the Euro shows + NYC will have down 38 shows.  Only imagine what its going to be like if the release CD and tour NA
