Sorry dude, I read Shredder isn't in the movie!!!!  So far I've heard Casey Jones (the guy in the hockey mask) and April O'neil are in it.  And of course, Splinter.

The voices are supposed to be all big name celebs, but no Corey Feldman as Michaelangelo (he did the voice in the first movies).

Believe  me ... the animation is excellent ... lots of pose to pose shit like in the old Warner cartoons.

The quality of the image is great, with the color schemes STRAIGHT out of teh comic books, and the styling too.  Very very cool looking movie.

At first the 'look' bothered me - but now its obvious stylings after the comics lead me to imagine the director is going for a faithful transition of the comics to the big screen - as opposed to some god awful hollywood cash in

In early 2007 we shall see.....

the 2nd movie was soooo bad.  I remember actually liking the 3rd one (of course I was probably 12?) haha.

While a turtles movie will be cool (if there is SOME adult humor/action) can't hollywood come up with something original?  All of these 80s TV shows/cartoons/comic hero movies are nice in a nostaligic way, but it'd be nice to see something a little new.  Was the Matrix (and really only the 1st movie) the last really original thing to come out in terms of action/sci fi movies??

I hope so, the original Eastman & Laird graphic novels were great. I really hope this keeps true to the original story.

i just saw another trailer for this and i cant wait. i jused to love the cartoon on tv when i was a kid and i of course saw all three of the live-action movies. i always adored them and i hope this is good. i saw that Patrick Stewart and Kevin Smith have lended their voices and Sarah Michelle Gellar will be the voice of April.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is a great choice for April.? Patrick Stewart will probably be Splinter which is...close, but not spot on.

Fuck it, the trailer looks shit but that won't stop me watching.? TURTLE POWER!

They should make it the way they did with the others. Fuck this cartoon bullshit.

Oh dear.

Saw it yesterday

Its a kids film, nothing more, nothing less - think any of the latest batch of cgi animal films and you have exactly how this plays out

I dont blame them, after all they are trying to relaunch this to the kids - but its a shame they didnt go with something a bit more adult, if your older than 12 it all seems a bit childish....

The cgi was amazing in some places and just annoying in others - it wasnt very well filmed, it was always difficult to work out what was happening in the fights

This really should have been live action - its difficult to care otherwise

how can hollywood not do remakes all the time when you see how people get all exited when their favorite cartoon gets in movies !!!!

anyway, question:

are the "Teenage" and "Mutant" words really important in the name?

cause in France it's only Ninja Turtles ("Tortues Ninja") they dropped the teenage/mutant thing ....

:)

Butters > the Matrix was actually a HUGE ripoff in the disguise of many many things, so i'd say no, it wasnt an *original*
Apocalypto had some cool action ;=)

Saw it las night.. and I thought it was cool.. ?I mean , it's still a kids movie.. but the animation and story lines are good. I liked the fact that Splinter fights with them.. never seen that b4.
3.5 - 5

p.s  .  In spanish it's the same, The Ninja Turtles..  that's it

I really liked the film. Yeah, it's a kid's movie, but I would be disappointed if they made it "adult." It was a fun, harmless film.

While I realize the Turtles began life as a fairly dark comic, I felt the movie successfully walked a thin line between the more colorful '80s Turtles and the moodier stuff.

The only thing it's missing is Raphael's "DAMN!!" from the first film.

Post by: Izzy on March 25, 2007, 03:29:39 PM
Apparently the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' name was a deliberate attempt to parady everything going at the time the comics were being made

now the full title remains soley to get the audience wondering how after all these years the turtles can still be teenagers.......

Eh, no big deal.

I was 1-2 years too old to get into them when they first came out. By then I had moved on to music ( like this new band called Guns N Roses)

i liked the movie. it wasnt awesome but it wasnt terrible. i found it pretty entertaining and i went in not expecting much. the plot wasnt the greatest but hey, it IS a kids movie. most of all, it was alot of fun. i will say that it could have been better, but it also could have been ALOT worse.

Warner Bros. could shout "cowabunga!" following the victory of TMNT, the latest film incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, at the box-office over the weekend. The film took in an estimated $25.5 million, but analysts noted that the studio had conservatively forecast Sunday's potential take and that the figure could go higher. The computer-animated film topped five other new releases, all of which landed in the top ten. Warner Bros. could also cheer over another strong finish for 300, which dropped to second place with ticket sales of $20.5 million, bringing its gross after three weeks to $162.4 million. (It had reportedly cost about $60 million to make.) Debuting in third place with $14.5 million was Paramount's Shooter, starring Mark Wahlberg. Despite the flood of new films, most had decent openings, with the exception of the inspirational sports (swimming) movie Pride, which failed to make much of a splash with just $4 million in ticket sales. According to box-office trackers Media by Numbers, the top 12 films took in $125.7 million, 29 percent above the figure for the comparable weekend a year ago.
