Title: Theory on the Euro/U.K. tour
Post by: RoCoKiN on July 20, 2006, 12:49:27 PM
I think that alot of the complaining about setlists and guitar solos is a bit uncalled for.  You have to remember that probably 95% (or more) of the audiences at these shows aren't as up to date on who is in Guns N' Roses as we are.   And to throw in a bunch of new songs that people haven't heard of before will kill the momentum for the Guns fan who hasn't heard them before.  This tour is almost like a re-introduction of the band to the fans; and the guitar solos are a bit of an introduction of each guitarist so that the majority of the crowd isn't sitting there scratching their heads wondering who the hell is playing. (Not just breaks for Axl to catch his breath) Without an album out for people to look at the liner notes and see who each guy is, this is really the only way...and let's face it Gun's haven't taken center stage on any magazines or television shows to really have that oppurtunity.  It sucks for us because we know the setlists from all the shows and each guitarist and how they play...but take in to consideration the Gunner fan who forgot about the band along the way and this is the first time seeing them in 10 years in some cases. (or the first time ever) Hopefully the album comes out before the U.S. tour or we are going to see the same things all over again.

No, the tour is about making some money and buying them time.

There are no plans to release an album.

Interesting theory although I think these 95% you're talking about are there to see Axl regardless of who else is there and likely hoping that Slash and Co. will come back.

Unfortunately its true. There is no reason to play nearly all-AFD songs on this tour. They should be playing 13 songs from the album, which was released already, as well as a few of the classics.

The tour is a waste of time. Everything they do is a waste of time until they release some music.

And posting the same posts that have been posted a million times is a waste of time.

When will people like you learn?
