you cant just do an exercise once or twice and expect to be faster. try learnig some scales and run through them. start slow and hit every note then try a little faster, hit every note. just keep doing that, it will help speed and accuracy. but it will take time. You feel the strings better => your accuracy improves => you can pick faster without making mistakes. :yes: In fact, speed is an effect of accuracy, if you're damn sloppy when playing slowly, you'll not be able to play fast. Light picks are for n00bs. Once you have tried a heavier pick, you don't want to play with light ones. Increase the thickness gradually, don't jump from, let's say 0.5 mm to 1.0. Try 0.7 or something to let your picking hand get used. Slash uses Dunlop Tortex 1.14 mm (so do I). Title: Re: need to build up my picking speed!
