Matt is a gimp but he has improved in VR - he used to look ridiculous. His playing isnt bad at all on Contraband. Sounded like an emotionless robot on UYI.

I believe if matt was given free expression the illusions would have been way better drumming wise.
With that said. AFD is brillant drum wise. Steve was amazing with his parts. So steve takes the cake. Even though given the right atmosphere I think matt would have ripped it up... but he didn't.... so steve gets it!! Title: Re: Favorite drummer---matt or steven? Post by: Poof! on July 09, 2006, 05:40:52 AM I'm gonna deviate a little bit from the options given and say that I wish Josh Freese would've stayed with GN'R all along. But between Sorum and Adler, as far as drumming goes (personality-wise, they are both fucking donkeys), what Adler lacks in in finesse and technique he made up for with passion and punk rock drumming, and while Sorum lacks passion and the punk rock aspect, he has plenty of technique and finesse to make up for that.
