Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I'm about fifteen months into a twelve month contract and, because I'm an idiot, I haven't upgraded my handset yet. Thing is, I want to change my calling plan as well. I'm on O2 at the moment, and they always seem to have deals flying about that go over my head.

So if there's anybody out there on a quality calling plan, tarrif or whatever, come on,

hook a brother up. Ideally on O2, but I don't mind. I just don't want to be on a shitty contract again. Something along the lines of a thousand anytime minutes and texts for a fiver a month would be alright.

A bit of advice on what the best phone out at the moment is as well wouldn't go a miss.... I don't know too much about those there mobiles.

I can't tell u about any plans, since i'm not from the UK, but as far as mobile phones go, there's only one brand that u should consider - Sony Ericsson. Period. Nothing else comes close in terms of features, quality and price. It's just a matter of which model to choose...  ;)

By the By, I have a W800i. Excellent phone!

On a related note, what exactly are ur mobile plans? This is mine (From Hutch, a subsidiary of Orange):

Outgoing calls - $ 0.08/min.
Incoming calls - Free
SMS - (National/Local) - Free*
SMS - (International) - $ 0.10/message.

* - At a monthly rental of $ 1.3/month.

Ive just been offered 680 mins a month with 1000 texts with Orange.  Im with T Mobile right now but think I will switch...they have really shit phones at the moment.  Got my eye on the N80

Same here... I had their U-Fix plan from April 2005 till yesterday, and it just sucks. Now I'm on pay-as-you-go, which is much better for me. I'm getting another phone though... I really like the new Samsung E900. I'm also thinking about switching to Orange.

As far as pay as you go goes (ha!), I could never go back after having a contract phone. The value for money is so much better, and you get pretty much the best phone on the market for free.....


I actually haven't got a clue. But the package was O2 100, which is one hundred minutes and 100 texts for 25 pounds a month, which was pretty shit, I always ended up going way over.

well i had to switch from o2 P&G as i was forking out over ?120 a month on Gprs Charges so  my only option was to go onto T Mobile Web and Walk basically i pay ?32.50 a month ang get free internet up to 1gig which on a mobile is pretty hard going to get over that and i also get ?80 worth of calls or texts the shit thing was the phone choice as i wanted a N91 or N80 but they were but available so ive got a N70 which is a little better than my 6630 and ive alo got a 1gig memory card for it and it currently holds all the Gnr Albums on it  :hihi:

that's 36 euros ... for 1hour40 mins

here in france we get hum .... 3hours for 40 euros i'd say (and like 20 sms and so one)

w810 is a very cool phone, cause you can turn it on as MP3 player only, and that's handy in planes cause i can use it in flights (i fly once a month, yeah i'm cool)

... As I say, it's a pretty shitty contract. You can do a lot better.

You guys seem to be paying a LOT for ur mobile service. Service is dirt cheap here.  :smoking:

O2 bullied me into not switching over to Orange. They gave me 500 minutes and 300 texts for twenty pounds a month, which is all right I guess. As I say, it's never the best deal but it should sort me out.....

I'm not too sure about it though. It's okay, I guess, but... I don't know. I just feel like I could get a better phone, like there's something better out there, bearing in mind that because the bloke sorted me out when I phoned up I can get any phone for free. I guess I'm just greedy. Not to mention that I'm pretty sure that what I've got is a girls phone.

Hey!, I ordered it over the phone, all right. I was bullied into it. I actually asked about the W810i. Though those phones have been out for ages now, and what I've got is pretty much the same phone but with 3G. I thought that somebody, or something, else would have stepped up by now.

So yeah, I've got about fourteen days to change it, so sort me out. What's the best phone on the market right now? Eh?

not keen on the phone youve got this one is so much better and its free on all the above contracts my friend has one seems easy to use and takes good photos

Nokia N91 looks like the best phone around right now IMO. Dunno if you'll really be able to get it since most contracts make youpay ?150 on top of any monthly tariff (hey at least it's cheaper than the 8800...lol) but if you can i'd go for this. I'm biased since I like Nokias better than everything else, partly because I'm used to the interface, but partly because I've never seen a Nokia phone crash (which happened 3 times to my friend with 3 different K750i's...)

Anyway, even if the phone was shit it's still got 4Gb of storage so you can finally uninstall iTunes from your computer and apple can stop ruining your life.

nokias do crash trust me ive seen loads go especially the early ones, but in saying that i prefer nokia over any other phone maker due to ease of use and the amount of programs available especially the file browsers excellent for hacking programs

Yeah, the minutes that I've got are anytime. I'm not too keen on my phone either, as I said. I did have a butchers at the K800i. The only problem is that it has that little joystick thing again!, which my phone doesn't. It wouldnt stop me getting it, I have just never been a fan of it.

Also, I don't think that phone comes with any memory. Not that mine did, either... But it's still annoying.

Still, I'll probably end up with that phone.


Aye, Aye'm with you. I'm not too keen on the Ericsson interface, it's all far too simple and makes you feel a bit special. It's like the XP of the phone world.

... Yesterday, when I went in the O2 shop for a gander, I think that for the weekend they were doing that phone, and some other one, for free. Just for the weekend.  :-\

Maybe I'm wrong. But I passed it over because I didn't really know much about it. But it's a bit o' a brick though, isnt' it? Still, four gig..........

Aye, it's got a bit of a fat head, but it's not that big, and the screen takes up most of it so it's ok I think. The camera is pretty good for a phone too (20x digital zoom as well i think) and like I said means you can sell/give away/destroy your MP3 player if you want.

Besides, you don't just want a tiny phone cos you'll end up looking like Derek Zoolander...

Actually, that is exactly why I want a tiny phone!

I'm going to check it out properly next time I'm up the town, see what I think. Ask for a demonstration, and then because I'm an arsehole probably get talked into having a 3210.
