This story is from todays edition of Swedens biggest newspaper.

Here is some things it mention:

  • It says that he is forced to inhale oxygen between the songs and has an ambulance ready at the concerts.
  • It's the first time GN'R plays in Sweden since 1993 with Axl being the only original member still in the band.
  • At the concert in Budapest, Axl was forced to inhale oxygen between EVERY song to be able to sing and that the band was 3 hours late.
  • A few days later, an ambulance was waiting outside in London in case of emergencies.

Then they mention his demands for the after-party:

After the concert there will be an exclusive after-party at Caf? Opera. Here's the list of demands:

- Unlimited amounts of Jack Daniels and Champagne.
- Black Jack.
- Blonde Swedish fans(girls).
- Prefered if those attending the party is wearing leather.

A little update from Globen: They are setting up the scene now and outside there are alot more people than yesterday. I would say around a 100-150 people. I see many gnr fans here at the hotel.
I'll post later if anything happends.

Jarmo, where are you at right now? And is anyone going to the afterparty at caf? opera?

An ambulance for Axl?? ???

Can inhaling too much oxygen be a bad thing?? ???

I am thinking if he inhales too much oxygen is it similar to scuba diving and diving to the surface too quickly and you get the bends? ???

There is some toyflower on Pitman's keyboards  :D (Maybe he'll throw it to the audience during PC and create the ultimate-GN'R-collectible  :hihi:) Globen isn't even half full yet  :-X

Its more like a night club. But a damn nice one. You can eat there earlier in the evening (bring money), and while you're eating the place turns into a nightclub... The first time we didn't realize this. So after dinner, we went outside and there was a long fucking row with a guest list, so we ran back in...  :hihi:

Is that his 'normal' album?

I was discussing on another forum how rather than solo they should play songs from the individual artists. Tommy could pick any number of tunes off VGH, BBF probably has a couple he could probably play.

Maybe the 'bridges' Richard Fortus spoke of recording around christmas time were actually 5 minute instrumentals between songs? ?:hihi: That way Axl has plenty of rest.

Guys feel sorry for me. I was supposed to go to the show but since I live outside of Stockholm and now have a 40celsius fever I can't barely get out of bed. I had tickets and all ::) But Axl will come back when he's released CD.

hmm... massacre?
nah, I swear I don't lie, people LEFT the Paris show because of that. Bumblefoot was booed, he started shredding and pople were like "WTF? fuck off". Then he stopped and quickly play "Don't Cry". I was there. I saw and heard that. I swear even me I was annoyed.?This is the first tie in my entire life I heard the audiance booing at a show. Wow, I mean, something must be wrong when 15.000 people are booing you, don't you think?? Dizzy and Richard solos were the only ones well received because they were good and musically interesting. The rest of the jams were a waste of time. You know, without joking, after 45 minutes of jam, you really get on nerves. i'm sorry, I prefer to be honnest. As I said, this is not a rehearsal.
My advice: play less longer (2H) but play....songs. Shorter but more intense. Then it will be perfect. Just perfect.

Sounds like another fantastic Guns show!!! Stop complaining about the setlist and the solos. How many people at the shows actually bitch about the setlist being the same? Maybe only a few and those are the people who frequent the boards, or have seen them already on the tour. As for the solos Guns have always had long solos!!!! I think its a good thing for Axl to give each member of the band a chance to be in the spotlight.

Well when people start walking out of a concert because of them then there has to be a problem. And alot of people have said it kills the energy of the concert.

And people keep saying GnR has always had solos, they used to have 1 drum solo and 1 guitar solo, that doesn't even compare to the multi (what up7 or 8 solos at some shows) that they have now.

Don't get me wrong the Paris show was great... when they played songs.

I would wager that people did not leave the show during the solos, but simply went to the restroom and to get a drink. ?It's a nice break, and allows people and the band to recharge. ?Your posts are very predictable, and most of the time you use a realistic observation (people walking off), to make a false statement (they were leaving--ah BS--they went to get a drink, as they were all there for Nighttrain and Paradise City as seen on the boots). ?Nesquick, you said the Paris show was going to be 1/10th full because GNR did not market. ?The show was sold out by the time the band hit the stage. ?20,000 people were there. ?I thought it was going to be empty! ?Remember saying that everyday for a month?

I believe, that all bands have good shows, and bad. ? But, most of the bad show posts (I am NOT talking about you Nesquick), come from people with a few posts, and always follow the same talking point formula: ?"boring solos killed the show, Axl's voice was blown out, show started late, new songs sucked (with usually songs that were not played on the given date posted), and the band was booed off the stage. ?When, using talking points more prolifically than Karl Rove, it becomes apparent that the review is completely bullshit.

If the band just played 10 songs a night would you say the same thing " just be fucking happy GNR is on fucking tour!" Alot of bands go on tour, hell that's what a band is ment to do, it doesn't mean you can't be critical of it.

I'm new here, but have been a fan since 1987 and last saw GnR perform in 1988. ?When and if they tour the US, I don't care what they play, how long they play and how many solos they do, I just want to see them play! ?It's all about Axl, think about the Stones without Mick, Zeppelin without Plant, the Who without Daltrey...Sorry if I'm showing my age, but without Axl, there is no GnR, so we deal with the solos, the breaks, whatever. ?Just enjoy the shows and be glad that Axl is BACK!

No. no. In France, people don't leave the arena to take a drink it's not in our habbits. When you are in the arena, you stay until the end of the show.
So people left because of 2 things:
- They had to take the metro because after 0.30 am, it's over. No metro anymore. Some people left around midnight because they lived very far from Bercy.
- The solos and jams bored them so they left.

What's wrong with beeing honnest? It's not beeing negative, this is the way it happened. Nothing more, nothing less.
I don't say anything more than what happened.

If you feel you are being honest, I don't doubt you.  Use your Illusions, let them take you where they may.  I could have written what your review was going to state before the show started.  They went to get another beer.  Very simple.  What, thirty people left for the metro, thirty people left because they were too drunk, thirty people left because they are too shallow to listen to anything but that which they already have heard.  That is standard for any concert, for any band.  The Paris show rocked, and 19, 910 people stayed to see it through to the end!

We were 15.000 at Bercy, not 20.000.
The arena holds 17.000 people, it was (almost) sold-out.

Damn Newsman, you posted the exact same sentence I was about to post after reading his post! If you have to hit the bathroom or grab a drink, when is the best time to do it? A solo, so you don't miss any songs. I've done the same thing myself.

Meh, I guess it just wouldn't be a GNR concert thread without the same ol' comments about the setlist,  the solos, the start time, etc. If Axl needs a little bit more time to sing like that, or if he wants each band member to get a little spotlight, I could not possibly care less.

Whatever the case, I think you get the point. ?I really don't think there was a mass exodus. ?It's odd, the constant negative spin. ?I know Albert Camus was French, but I did not know he was still alive?

Oh well, all existentialist comments aside, how was the Stockholm show???

I find it funny a handful of people leave a gnr show and the newsmen talk about it like its a huge thing. That happenes ALL the time but they dont talk about the thousands of other people that stayed. Its like at download how all the emo kids left and people were like oh no this isnt good all these people leaving the gnr show, then you watch PC from the pro shot and ?you seem all the people there and you cannot even tell anyone left.

Would you leave a concert just because there were too many solos for your preference? Driving however long it takes thru traffic to the concert, the nightmare of parking, etc. After waiting hours in line to get into the venue, then a while longer for the band to take the stage, then say fuck this, I don't like their set list & walk off? Bullshit!

I am home! :D I can write something about the show for ya!

The show started swith Welcome to the jungle! haha And Axl wored a leather jacked full open so we could see all of his body :P Dizzy Reed played the whole song SOS by ABBA as a solo and the crowd sang along! Awesome! The crowd was quite boring but sang alot! It was hard to hear Axl sing sometimes so that was annoying, I quit singing to hear Axl better.. Everything was awesome! Axl also took on a cap that someone throwed up on staged and was cool and happy like hell! :D

The best 3 best songs in my opinion were Madagascar, Welcome to the jungle and Nightrain!

Great review!? huh :D

Axl throwed out the microfon and the whistle during Paradice and Nightrain had the longer intro with Axl singing Loaded like a freit train, flying like an airplane, felling like a spacebrain one more time tonight two times! Superb!

I'm home too! After standing in line for 20 hours, it was awesome to hear the intro to Jungle! But the opening acts sucked... The only postive thing I have to say about both bands, is Avenged Sevenfolds drummer, who has this really weird, but cool style. That's it. :-\

Guns were great! Axl was in a really good mood, smiled a lot and joked around. I definitely don't agree with Agno about the crowd being boring. We rocked! And yes, we did sing A LOT, but you could still hear Axl well and clear. Where did you stand/sit?, Agno?

I honestly don't think Robin had his best day, today.. He was good, but nothing special. Richard, on the other hand, was great! He totally connected with the audience (he waved at me when I shouted his namn!), played wonderful and looked very professional.

During Patience, a lot of things were thrown onstage, and Axl happily picked up every one of them. Except a bracelet that he obviously wasn't going to wear, so Tommy asked for it instead, and put it on his own wrist. Pretty funny actually! :hihi:

There are a million other things to say about this great gig, but I'm gonna let someone else tell them, 'cause I need to sleep...

I stood in front of of the middle almost as near the stage as it was possible.. I was in the crowed and I rocked! :D But the people around me just stood their on their own spots and only screamed... Not in the beggining but after the half show, everybody seemed to be dead. Where did you stand?

Their were also some people who only was there for the opening suck acts and they made me angry like hell!  And people around me whouted "Paradice City!".. I wanted more songs before the end song, did they want it to end or didn't they know that that song is the last song? :D

The crowed wasn't that bad but everything with them wasnt great :P

Yeee home from the show! Had an Jarmo sighting in the pub straight across from entrance 4 but he got away before I could say hi!. The consert started just about 22.00 which was a perfect time. Whole show rocked and all solos were short, beutiful and entertaining, especially as mentioned before the surprising SOS and epriciated by the crowd. Axl was spot on, amazing both vocaly and as a entertainer. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand. The rest of the band...there musical performance were flawless but they didn't have that much carisma. Did Tommy move? At all? I think I had a pretty good view from were I was sitting/dancing/shouting. But seems to me Axl carried the whole show as far as energetic performance is concerned. Anyway, the encore was the shit!!! Chinese Democracy, IRS, Patience, Paradise City
Well now it's off to Roskilde maybe see some of you fucker there

I've been home for awhile now..The show was fuckin awesome,I couldn't believe that i was seeing Axl Rose when I heard the opening to jungle! The SOS solo was awesome, with the crowd singing along, and we did sing along to Don't cry :) Someone threw up one of these Jack Daniels Guns N Roses shirts, and the crowd went nuts when he held it up in
front of him ?:hihi: I was almost front row,it was maybe three people in front of me,and I couldn't move!It was hard to jump up and down beacuse of it,so I think alot of people thought that the floor wasn't in to it at all,but we were ?:)
Sometimes you couldn't hear Axl because of the crowd, and he thought that we were very loud :hihi:
And I don't know why aftonbladet wrote about voice problems,I thought that he sang everything perfect, but then again,I couldn't hear him all the time :P
And it was hot as hell..God..Everybody was soaked in sweat and water..

Wow..I can't believe that I have seen Guns N' Roses!It was fuckin unreal!Great show!

and i hope we get some pics from the afterparty :hihi:

Ok, he was but not fucking fast enough :hihi: I mean to really grab the crowd, you could imdeitaly see a nosedive in crowd energy when Axl wasn't there. But he's the star of the show as we all now. As I said nothing more to wish for on the musical front. But maybe a little more energy from the others. Anyhow fantastic show overall :peace:

Just came home, and it was an awesome show! Just missed Rocket Queen I think. (and surprises!)
Axl and the Band was very happy, laughed a lot. They had maybe 4 jams. very cool show, axl, bumbe and fortus rocked the most. But Robin was just so cool in Jungle with a hat + sunglasses.

It was quite fun that in the beginning of Axl's solo/November Rain that someone called him the king and then some other dude called him the queen. He stopped playing and laughed and then continued with his playing.
And his comments about mutual band respect or something, that anyone?s opinion count was priceless

All those solos and jams every fucking 3 songs are really annoying. It seems it will never stop :-X
This is a torture Live onstage, it's really, really boring...
Play songs!

I'm not sure 'torture' is quite the word? ::)

hmm... massacre?
nah, I swear I don't lie, people LEFT the Paris show because of that.

I'm sure the breaks allow Axl to catch some oxygen and maintain his awesome voice throughout the whole show. I'll take some solos to hear that  : ok:

Just got home.

All I can say right now is: AMAZING. If they don't get great reviews in the papers today, then something's wrong with this world.
Axl was great, laughing and smiling a lot. His voice was GREAT!

I'm very tired, so I'm just going to do a small review.

THE BAND:

Axl - 9/10.
He nailed this one. Was in a great mood, the crowd loved him. He really enjoyed it.

Tommy - 6/10.
He was actually a bit quiet tonight. Didn't move around that much.

Robin - 8/10.
Great as usual. His solo/intro to SCOM was not that good, but after that he was great.

Richard - 8/10.
A true rocker. Great solo, lot of energy.

Ron - 9/10.
Imo, Ron was the best guitarist tonight. His energy was great and he seems to be very confident. Ran around like crazy all over the stage.

Dizzy - 7/10.
His solo was well recieved. Other than that, I didn't watch him that much.

Chris - ?
Well. I'm sure he does lots of things we don't really hear or see, but I didn't watch him more than once or twice.

Frank - 6/10.
As Axl said; he's living his dream right now. I was so into the show, that I didn't watch him much. But I couldn't hear any big mistakes. Seems to be a solid drummer.

THE SONGS:

Best songs of the night: Madagascar (BRILLIANT!), YCBM, PC.

SMALL THINGS:

The opening acts (Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold) wasn't booed. BFMV did ok, and A7X probably got some new fans. The crowd enjoyed them both.

Richard and Robin really seems to like doing the "Beautiful" solo. Robin tried to kiss Richards forehead :)

That's all for now...have to get some sleep :)

My Swedish is not very good despite having that as an official language in this country too, but if I understood Aftonbladet's short review of last night's concert correctly, it's all about the reviewer complaining that he didn't see Slash or hear Duff fucking up the intro to SCOM, so he didn't enjoy the concert. I didn't notice very much about the concert itself, or about the players who actually were there (except that Bumblefoot has a funny name). He didn't like the new songs either. I get the feeling he might have liked them if Izzy had written them or Slash had been there to play them.

Review in Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet: the concert is rated 2 out of 5.

Picture caption: ITS BEEN 13 YEARS Axl Rose on stage in Sweden. The voice holds up, the bombs blast - at at times its sounds very good. But, its really only Axl left - with a cover band.

This is not Guns N? Roses.
This is something completely different.
But if you close your eyes it sometimes sounds ? good.

There is no wild hair under a top hat to the right of Axl Rose.
We never get to hear Duff McKagan mess up the intro to ?Sweet child o?mine?.
No Gilby or Izzy trying to look as is if someone has conserved Johnny Thunders in formaldehyde?
If you can accept that everything is replaced by ? for example ? a guitarist called Bumblefoot, you have no major hang ups about the show.
You have to accept the situation
You have to be able to accept that this version of Guns N? Roses practically is like the Rolling Stones with?..erm?.Mick Jagger?..an?.let?s see now?no other original members?at all.
Then all?s good.
The pyro is so powerful it burns the skin.
Axl Rose seems sharp, focused and the voice holds up through the show. And at times the nostalgia sounds very good ? despite that the three guitarists in this seven-man-band play at least four solos too many.
The introduction with ?Welcome to the jungle? and ?It?s so easy? and ?Live and let die? is surprisingly strong and grand.
Unrefined numetal
But, personally, I have difficulty with Axl mixing the apocalyptic sleaze of the original band with unrefined numetal. In my world, Guns N? Roses were much more than competent shows and Axl?s ego. And, it is no wonder why the album ?Chinese democracy? is a 137 years late. The new songs are just not good enough. Guns N? Roses split-up in the early 90s. That?s it. The brand name has since been reduced to a cover band with great resources. At one time, Axl Rose was greater than a free religion. Today, he is an ok joke. ?

Aftonbladet...I wouldn't really consider them unbiased. Like Skeba said, that guy already knew what he was gonna write in his review before going to the show. They do that a lot at Aftonbladet. Sadly, it's a very common Swedish mentality (and yes, I am Swedish).
Fear change. Kill it. Bury it. Or at least try.

I spoke to three people who went to the show, and they were blown away. Even the one person who didn't expect anything spectacular and initially didn't want to go said that Axl was better than ever.

Absofuckinglutely :) It was pure magic. The journalists came to Globen with their reviews already written. They just can't let go of the fact that this is a new band. They have to mention and compare with the old. Pathetic.

This to is just pure ignorance. On one hand they state that Axls voice holds up and that the show sounds very good. Then they say that its only Axl with a cover band. This is just a kick in the teeth to some seriously talented musicians. If they sound as good as they do then give them the credit they deserve. Axl has moved on, the proper fans have moved on, even Izzy has accepted things and moved on by playing with the new band. Why cant half arsed journalists do the same? I can imagine if the old band were still together they would still find something to moan about. Guns N Roses have evolved in a big way now and Axl is taking the music forwards. These journalists just piss us proper fans off. Mike

I hate it when people accept Pitman as a full fledged member. He is, I know, but I refuse to accept it. His influence on Axl is responsible for the musical direction he's chosen in the late nineties. He's responsible for making Axl think OMG and Silkworms were a good idea. Who cares if he wrote some nice synth parts... Even if he wrote The Best Song In The Worldtm for GnR, he would still be in debt for making Axl put out abominations like the aforementioned songs, effectively making him the lauging stock of the whole rock loving world.

Whats this, "the blame it on Pittman hour"? Jesus.

Anyway, good to see they did another tops show. All this travelling must be blowing Ron's mind!

Is this Frank's second show?

I hate dumb little innacuracies that just show up people's ignorance. There are even some people on this board who make the same mistake. Guns N' Roses is currently an EIGHT (that's 8 ) piece band, dammit!

1 AXL
2 TOMMY
3 RICHARD
4 BRAIN
5 RON
6 ROBIN
7 CHRIS
8 DIZZY

He probably ment the BAND, not including Axl which is, seven.

Yeah, ok... might have not come off like that, but it was kinda an explanation as to why people tend to count only 7 members... Dizzy is usually credited on 'keyboards' whilest pitman is credited for 'programming'.

I stood in the front, to the left. I had huge speakers right above me, so maybe that's why I could hear him better than you did...
The bad thing about the audience, was the "Axl" chants a few people started after every song. What about the rest of the band? I can agree Axl deserves one or two chants, but after every song?? That's just disrespectful to the the others...

Yeah, I heard about them, or saw them actually. They had been there since friday! To see BFMV! ::)

I just woke up, it's almost 3 pm here now ;D
I can't believe I saw Guns yesterday!! IT'S FUCKIN UNREAL!! :o

I was there.
Jumping and screaming in falsetto in the stand.

The show was undescribably magnificent.
The coolest thing I 've ever done.

now when I have seen GN'R it feels empty and strange.
Almost fainted during Patience because of the lights.

Pure magic
i stood in line since 12 and i would have stood the double for such a show.
awesomeness the coolest tihing i have ever done.

but it was not many that sang along on the new songs.

Just got home from Stockholm.

They show was BRILLIANT!
I was standing quite near the stage, and the crowd was wild too, as Axl also mentioned.

Even met Jarmo briefly after the show. Cool to meet you man.
Hope you guys found a good place to party afterward. We tried getting a taxi for over an hour and after that we just went to the hotel instead.

I took some photos and video with my cellphone. Quality sucks, so I wont upload anything since there will probably come better quality pics and video soon.

Right now I am thinking about the Oslo show tomorrow. Gonna leave by train tomorrow morning, lets just hope everything works out with the arrest and stuff, and that he wont be in a bad mood and just cancel the show, like he did on "me" in 91.

The show was truly amazing. I stand in the front and when the first notes to WTTJ began I thought that the place should explode. It looked like Axl had a great time, he joked with us and laughed.
Frank was absolutely amazing, so much cred to him. He had a really great time, he had a big smile all the time. It was really cool that Dizzy played some Abba in his solo, that was great. When Bumblefoot played Don't Cry the whole crowd singed with him, that was wonderful. Axl's voice was incredible, all I can say is wow!

I mailed Bumblefoot after the show to thank him. He said that the crowd was one of the best so far at the tour and that he had a great time in Sweden.

In a couple of days I will upload some pics and videos at my website, stay tuned. First I'm going to Oslo for my second Guns N' Roses-concert in my life. =) I hope it will be almost so great as it was yesterday.

Okay, a short review:

First, Axl's voice sounded awful on Better, The Blues and My Michelle. But for the whole concert his voice was better than I expected  :D

Of the new songs, Madagascar and Chinese Democracy sounded fantastic. (Yes, I have heard all the demos and they are great etc. etc.)

I wanted to hear TWAT!  :'(

I could feel the heat from the "flames" up to where my seat was, far from the scene  :hihi:

To sum it all up, a very good concert, 4/5.

well i've read it now.. i maybe do a translation tommorrow it's almost 1.30 in the morning right now.. kinda tired and lazy right now.. but i can say some things about it.. the reporter says that it's hard to find older and die-hard fans that like and respect this new band.. he was dissing axl for changing his clothes so many times.. he says that he hopes that the album will be delayed even longer because he didn't like the new song so he wanted an improvement on them.. too many AFD songs, 8 of the 12 songs from AFD were played.. he says that he thinks that there will be a re-union because the fans wants it and this band does not have o future and that the CD will flop.. (dunno if you say flop in english but anyway)

i may be writing a better translation tommorrow or another swede will maybe do that : ok:

Okay, I tried... Not a very good try, but I tried. It's now 4.30 in the morning and I desperately need some sleep...

A long time since Guns N? Roses reached its peak.

Because of restrictions from the promoters, unacceptable to DN (Daily News) we wont publish a picture. (<-- Haha, I find that very funny!)

Yes, I would like to say that Guns n?Roses (Guns N? Roses dammit! >:() belongs to the classic rock bands. Even if I do it with certain hesitation. Mostly because their production is so small, and still so uneven. Most of their hits are on the debut album ?Appetite for Destruction? from 1987, if you take away those you don?t have much left to build an arena concert on. In The Globe they play 8 of the albums 12 songs, and no one can argue that it was at that time the group reached its peak.

It was a long time ago. Today, Axl Rose is alone from those days Guns N? Roses. Only one other member, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, was there when the group released their latest album, the coverbagatelle (kan man saga s?? N?n som har en b?ttre ?vers?ttning?) from 1993 ?The Spaghetti Incident??. And it?s hard to find someone, even among the die-hards, who has accepted today?s eight piece band as a worthy Guns N? Roses.

On top of everything, the last 12 years been spent on recording an album, ?Chinese Democracy?, which release has been post-poned for so long, it has become a laughingstock in the business. It is planned to hit shelves in the fall, the one who lives will tell. Judging by the five songs they played in The Globe, I hope it takes even longer.

The signs of a has-been are in other words many. But the concert in The Globe sold out quickly and the audience is both young and enthusiastic. Singing along, waving cigarette lighters, throwing souvenirs on stage. Treating him like the big rock star he is, other than the intense eccentric he is as well.

Not that the two sides can be parted. If Axl Rose didn?t have his demons and peculiarities, he would not be the same artist, and the bizarre stream of rumours about his personality has not made peoples interest for him smaller. A few people had probably made their way to The Globe to see the sad remains of a beforehand burned out genius.

But it definitely wasn?t a wreck standing on stage in The Globe late on Monday evening. If anything Axl Rose was surprisingly well preserved, even if his hairstyle, draids in a ponytail, was new. The voice was the same insistent, hoarse welding flame (??) as always. Not always with the same intensity, but that?s a good thing. And the band sounded almost flawless.

You can always claim that six solos, where everyone except one person leaves the stage is five too many. That?s probably Axl Rose?s decision, as are many other things. During each solo he takes the time to change clothes, which gives a strange impression, because he only switches a shirt for another. He even has a clothing change in the middle of the encore.

Such affectations are not his old band mates dealing with. Three of them are nowadays in Velvet Revolver, a competent rock band without mentionable charisma. Others are making insignificant solo careers. No one attracts nearly as much attention as Axl Rose and Guns N? Roses. Even today?s Guns N? Roses.

And the explanation is Axl Rose. His one-of-a-kind voice and unique energy. Even if it is seductively easy to make remarks there is also something impressive about him and his way, that makes all his songs as big as possible.

Especially the ballads, that often seems to grow above all limits. But also the rock songs, which he faces head first and sings whole-heartedly.

Behind him, the band gives him well-needed support, but they stay very anonymous. There are three solo guitarists, very talented, but you still find yourself missing Slash, the guy with the big hair who was what Keith Richards is for Mick Jagger. ?Tr?tobrodern och sparringpartnern. Det m?ste ha med karisma att g?ra.? (<- I?m not even gonna try translating that?) How much pyrotechnics are used, is unimportant.

My guess is that a reunion is coming (he had to say that, had he..? ::)). Just because so many people want it and at the same time Guns N? Roses new direction does not seem to have a bright future. But before that ?Chinese Democracy? must be released and be a minor flop. And Axl Rose must have time to digest it.

while this doesn't happen we'll always hear things like "this is only Axl" "Guns n Roses needs Slash"

yes, "as well" is true.  But I spent 2 whole years harping on the negative eccentricities, but now I'm focusing on the music, the tour and Axk's good mood. I just had to move on lol.

What a show!

We got there a bit late, cause we were drinkin' and all, but we managed to see the last Avenged Sevenfold song. They played 'Bat Country'. Why do I bring this up you may ask. Well, their singer (M. Shadows I think he's called) finished off the song with the "Chi-hild, chiii-hiii-hiiiiiiiiiild" like you've heard Axl do on Live Era. I thought that sounded really good.

Then we had to wait... Atleast they played a couple of decent songs on the speakers... Then suddenly, the lights got turned off and you could hear synth-violins or whatever. Then you could hear an electric guitar...
Oh my God, the place went nuts ----- and then WTTJ started!

The crowd went now even more nuts. Jumping and screaming and pushing! It was crazy!

After Mr. Brownstone, Axl talked about how great the crowd was. It was the loudest or best so far!
He then nailed the screams on LALD.

First new song of the night was Better. Axl introduced Mr. Robin Finck and said that he was the man behind the song! Better was great live!

After that we got served SCOM. The place went even more nuts! Axl had to wait some time before he could talk after the song, cause everybody was chearing like a mofo!
Now, everybody who claims that Finck can't play SCOM: Shut the fuck up! He was the best part of that song!
KOHD was next and the crowd was singing with so loud that I thought that there wouldn't be a sing-a-long! But there were... Axl was truly amazing on this song! Pure magic!

The Dizzy played a solo. He played S.O.S. by Abba. That was funny.
On Out Ta Get Me Richard Fortus was on fire. I think I looked more at him than on Axl!

Then there was November Rain time. And just when Axl started playing the intro, but he started laughing. So he stopped and told the crowd why he was laughing: "Someone in the crowd was shouting: Axl, you're the king. Then some other guy shouted: And the queen". Hahahaha. Axl was laughing and having fun.

Maddagascar is a monster live.
Nightrain was amazing! Everybody went crazy! Then the lights got turned on and the band left the stage. But only for like 1/2 a minute.

Then the best song of the night! Chinese Democracy! Who would have thought that it was so great live? Not me. I was completely blown away from the start by Finck. He played a different beginning than I've heard before. This was a better beginning IMO. Oh my God! What a song! Even Pitman was rockin' it!

Then Tommy was out talking to Axl. Then Axl said something like: "The band have decided to play another song. I have nothing to say in this". While he was smiling. IRS was better live than demo. Surprise. Then Axl told us about how patiente we had been and started practising his whistleing. Then we saw an acoustic guitar   Patience was next. Also a sing-a-long by the crowd.

Then it was the last song. Paradise City. The song was a great ending to a great show!

Here's my overall impression on each member of the band:

Richard: He was really energetic and played with lots of intensity. A true rocker.
Finck: Amazing live. He nailed CD and made it a killer song.
Stinson: Was having fun. He wasn't that much on my side of the crowd, so I don't get to see him that much but I noticed him smiling.
Thal: G&R is lucky to have him in the band. He playes his parts extremely well and he runs all over the stage. Looks like he is enjoying it.
Reed: I liked his solo the best. He playes with intensity and looks cool doing it.
Pitman: He was rockin' it way in the back. All the new songs sounded great, so he is doing his job well.
Frank Ferrer: Axl said during the show that Frank had said that he was living the dream... A good drummer substitute. Didn't hear one mistake.
Axl: Truely brilliant! His voice was sharp during the whole show. He really impressed me. He was running around having fun and really enjoying himself. He was amazing!

That's something that almost every band do. Just trying to make the crowd feel special and have a "connection" with them, which leads to a better concert.

Thanks for the video! Did you record it, Wernie?

Too bad you can't really see the look on Axl's face, he looked really impressed!

No, I was standing in the front :D

I'll send a pm instead of filling up space here.

There's gotta be more videos out there somewhere? I'd love to see some more :)

I was there as well, my first concert ever. I tried to spot some HTGTH t-shirts but couldn?t see any. Maybe they all did like me and wore their newly bought concert t-shirts over them. Anyway, I was in the second section on the floor. The crowd was great except for some people that were pushing like crazy trying to get to the front. But they seemed to calm down after uncle Axl told them to take a step back. Everything was perfect, except for that my friend who came along to the concert was inches from catching the mike.

Overall feeling from the concert was that everybody on stage gave everything they had, as well as the crowd. That includes both opening acts as well. Axl sounded really good and the only reason that they are getting bad reviews seems to be because the reviewers can?t let go of the old band and accept the new. I guess they also got a little annoyed that they weren?t allowed to take pictures unless they signed the rights on the pictures to the band.

I really liked that video of KOHD, it gives a better perspective on how many that was there and how loud we were. I would really like to see, and hear, how many that sang along to Don?t cry.

You think the crowd was loud when Ron played DC? I thought it was quiet as hell. Felt like it anyway.

No, I could hear a few near were I was standing sing along during the chorus. But I was hoping that maybe some other part of the crowd was singing along. But maybe they didn't.
