 Let's pretend Guns n Roses is coming to your City. What is the highest amount you would pay per ticket? Please be realistic and pick an amount that you can actually afford. In this day of high ticket prices I'm kind of wondering what the price would have to be before people just started saying it's not worth it.

?750 for any of the above if it meant going back stage and meeting the band including Axl

For the current band, i spent about 200 bucks round trip I figure to goto New York for the first night Hammerstein show. That's about my limit now that I have seen them a few times.

Were we to ever get a reunion show, whatever cost it took to be there.

If its the original lineup, there would be no price range.  I would pay $1,000 if I had to.

For the current lineup, even though I like them alot, $200.

Well before we had the presale for the NY shows I paid a fucking ticket broker 200 U.S for one ticket. Add on the cost of the flight, and hostel.

If it was for a stadium show 200 and under... probably up to 300. if it was in 3000 under 500, and a club... 800 and under...

This is granted it was in my home town. I can't see myself not seeing gnr if I was in the same city, regardless of the cost. I doubt the cost would get higher than I would pay.

Well I blew $600 going to 5/15 between 4 tickets and drinks, shirts at the show. Lots of drinks might I add. The beer and shot special for 10 bucks adds up quick. Tickets were ?$365.00 for all 4

i spent around ?600 to go to portugal in 2004 to see guns at rock in rio and they never even played! thats probably the most i'd pay. Unless i was rich, then i would go see them all over the world regardless of price.

well airfare and lodging included i spent almost $800.00 to fly over to see them in Dublin, so I'd say for a concert in my area id pay pretty high, especially if i was guaranteed front row.

These shows maybe the last of which Axl ever chooses to do ever again, so to me, money really doesn't matter.

I'd probably pay another 180 to see them at Hammerstein again.  Probably up to $500 if there was a reunion.

On a side note, it's amazing how much concerts are nowadays.  Back in '92, I was in the 4th row for the Faith No More, Metallica/Gn'R show, and the ticket was 30 bucks.  Amazing!

Well, the fact that I've spent all my money to go and see them in Madrid, Lisbon, Nuremberg (which didn't happen but my money is still out of my pocket...) and the last 2 London shows, says a lot on how much I'd pay to see this band.

Also, keep in mind that I haven't gone anywhere on vacation since 2004 (when I went to the US for almost a month) and this summer was supposed to be the one... But then GNR announced their European tour so...  ;D

I spent about the same going to Portugal in 04 for RIR4. Right now i'd pay upwards of $500 to see them and I'd pay $1000 + to meet them backstage

I paid $250 when they came to Vegas last....and my trip to L.A. is gonna run around $600 for a guess....It all depends on how much I have, otherwise, If they come around, and i got the cash, I'm there, no matter what the price.

Can't really put a figure on a single concert because it would depend on where, when and if it was something out of the ordinary.  However, as a general answer, I'd say I'd probably spend just a little bit more than I could afford.  ;D  The NY and European shows I'm attending have cost me something in the region of ?3,500 if you include tickets, travel, accommodation, merchandise and other incidentals - all worth it though (well apart from getting a bottle on the head at Donington   :rant:  ).

i got to see gnr and metallica at the RDS for free compliments of a mate who works the company that put up the stage, got him a bottle of vodka for 22 euro, not bad for a weekend of gigs

shows cost too much as they are. I paid ?40 for Hammersmith, but factor in the fact it ended late, and thus cabs home, or travel, or a hotel, and it gets really expensive. I think Overall Hammersmith cost me about ?150 including those. You have to look at the total cost of the show, not just the ticket price.

As long as people pay silly prices, they'll charge silly prices, you have no one to blame but yourselves.

um...if i went to see them in philly(again), i'd pay $0 U.S.

because the answer varies depending on:
lineup and venue

if it was the original lineup for a one off show a small venue like the Hammerstein, I would pay an awfull lot

but if it was the current lineup at a arena or stadium or smaller venue I would probably pay up to $150-200

I paid 150 in LV (so 300 for the two of us, plus gas and hotel.) Actually I paid about 300 bucks for 3rd row at the Mandalay bay show that was canceled, so that does not count (I got a refund.)

I was actually thinking about this the other day. If they come to Florida and I somebody had front row tickets, I may pay upwards of 1k. Maybe................   :P

I wouldn't pay more than ?40 for a ticket - which is why I won't be seeing them when they play in the UK. Over ?50 for one ticket is ridicolous.

Another factor would be the setlist.  I saw 3 of the shows in NY.  I paid face-value for only one of them.  But here's the thing:  If they came back to NYC in the fall for another 4 shows, I'd probably pay alot for the first show again, but if they played the same setlist as this time around, I'd probably sell the tickets for the other shows I had.

I have paid ?400 for tickets but it wasnt just GNR, it was for the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert.  Would pay as much again (depending on venue and good seats) old or new members as long as Axl was there.

now that i am thinking about it... in the end of July both you and me... we will have pay a litte fortune just to see GNR palying 4 concerts... and we paid and these tickets for Munich too   :nervous: at least we know where we are going for Christmas  :beer:

I paid approximately ?750 euro to go and stay in Dublin. For a concert ticket as such, I would pay up to ?300 for something special, up to ? 150 for a "normal" stadium gig. If I can make a weekend out of it, like I did in Dublin, I think I would go up to ?1000 :'(

first of all let me say that I respect you for a 'strong' opinion... you are the only person on this board that doesn't make me pissed when saying hired Guns... but they are not.

About old GNR. There were 3 people I respected while they were a band: Axl, Izzy and Slash. Duff, Steven, Gilby, Matt were just not something I digged. Izzy has left, Slash has left... So there is Axl. And the new guys. The only difference now is there are 8 people I respect. They are all (in my opinion) better musicisians and greater personalities then the old GNR. There is no one that I would like to see more in GNR then the current guys.

Don't blame me for that. I respect you for your opinion and you don't need to respect me, but just don't blame me for seeing it differently.

It's not that I don't respect your opinion, but shit I am so into the original yet I would pay to see the new even if it was for axl, and I have several times... Just to hear someone on gnr fan board say they'd have to be payed to see the original band just sounds crazy.. Regardless of who you like or dislike today exists only because of yesterday.... I am the kind of person who loves GNR enough that I flew from USA to Portugal for RIR and brought my two girls and husband, approximately 12,000 for whole trip, now ask me (Do I Love Uncle Axl?)  Well!! thats a big fat YES!!!!!!!! :love: :love: :love: :love:

It was ok to have brought the family, they are awesome and fully support me and my love for GNR, and also there was more to the trip than just RIR, we all had the chance to experience another country, and was beautiful, such a different culture from our own, something we will all never forget.. :) :)

I went to Lisbon and then to London, Dublin and Donington. I could've stayed at home, read the reviews and downloaded the bootlegs just like you, but I didn't. I'm glad I went because it's something I'll never forget.

I got to see four amazing shows, meet a lot of cool people and had one hell of a time.

I spent over a thousand and live neatr hammerstein :hihi: Had the greatest time more meeting everyone then the actual shows..

I spent close to a grand to see them at Donnington (ticket, camping stuff ,petrol: we ended up leaving on the friday and returned on the Sunday....that's two extra trips).....now that may not seem alot compared to some of the amounts people have spent but on a carers salary (?280 per month) that's nothing short of amazing....add that to the Sheffield and Birmingham gigs I'm going to.....my GNR wallet seems very annorexic at the moment!!!!!...and I'm over a ?100 over drawn.....

$75 tops - which after the bullshit TicketBastard fees is almost $100 anyway, so...

I'm passing up Aerosmith's fall tour with Motley Crue because the greedy fucks want $125 per ticket for reserved seating, which is bullshit.

It might vary by market, but I know that $125 is the asking price at the Tweeter Center in Camden and somewhere else that I can't remember offhand.

what i always say to people who look at me funny or tell me im crazy when i tell them about the trip is that you can't really put a price on your passions.

for me, guns is, without a doubt one of the things im most passionate about, and I got to see them abroad during what i would say is a pretty amazing comeback tour all things considered---and the show was the best one of my life. plus, i got just enough of a tease of traveling Dublin that I likely be back there next year with some friends for a longer stay---so i got that out of it too.

no regrets on this end...and i will probably be paying top dollar for front row seats for the US fall tour : ok:

Personally, I've been foregoing asking for birthday and Christmas gifts the past 5 years, or at least just asking for small stuff...knowing that eventually these days would come! 

I'll never forget the awesome time I had May 12th at Harry's and the Hammerstein!  If the band is nearby, and you choose not to go, you're really missing out.  Guns fans are great to hang out with...and the chicks are super hot!!!

I bought two tickets for face - one for the 17th throught the presale, then one for the 15th from a guy on mygnr - and then I bought a ticket for the 14th for $100 from a scalper outside my hotel  : ok:

Ticketmaster are charging ?40 for the London show on the 29th. With booking fee and postage added, I think it pushes it to just over ?50. Then there's the ?20 it'd cost me on the train.
Plus I'm too scared to go on my own, and no one will come with me.

What's with the negativity?  There has to be a pre-show gathering going on.  The GNR fans I met in NY City were all incredibly nice.  I'm sure they're just as cool across the pond.  Have you asked here at the site if there's anyone in your area going to the show?  There are always going to be excuses not to go.  You only live once...plus, this is Axl, see him while ya can man.   :peace: 

I hope no one would ever expect to meet and/or hang out with Axl at the concert (or a lot of lead singers for that matter - Scott Weiland...).? However I have gone to some concerts in the states here with this company:? iloveallaccess.com.? Very similar packages to that one on eBay.? Here's a few:? Sheryl Crow (I know, I know - some of you will think this is gay but I'm secure with my manhood thank you) - got to meet her.? Velvet Revolver - about 20 of us were allowed in to the entire soundcheck (cooler than it sounds).? Plus all the other shit - cool stuff given out via lottery ticket that you recieve when you show up, unique shirts, etc.? AT VR, with your lottery ticket you got a chance to mee the whole band.  Definitely worth it!

one thing I have always regretted was not going through with the HOB GNR return show.  My brother and I were seriously getting ready to go, but it was going to cost about $800 each I think and I was only a sophomore in college at the time.  Would have been amazing, but oh well. 

But that comeback show only happened once, so now I would say that I would probably pay about $150 per ticket.  And that would be for a VERY small show (smaller than Hammerstein).  For the old band I would seriously have no problem throwing down closer to $500 for a ticket.  I also can honestly say that I would travel anywhere to see a show by the old band if it were a one off show.  Money would not be an issue at that point.
