Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Hey, I got to speak to Robin briefly at Donington yesterday. It was really weird, I was sat with my mate on the hill near the main stage watching Funeral For A Friend and Robin just randomly walked past! He said he was checking out the stage and trying to find his guitar tech and was looking forward to the show. He seemed to want to get away though, probably had somewhere to be as it was less than an hour before GN'R came on. It seemed weird that only me and my mate recognized him as he walked through a crowd waiting to see GN'R.
Anyway, here's a pic, I look scuzzy because I'd been there all weekend and hadn't had a proper wash in 4 days

i was stood there for most of the afternoon, but about an hour before gnr came on i went for a piss, something to eat and a beer and then got to the front for the action. i managed to get to the barriers and shook axl's hand as he went walkabout at the front.

Robin's Finlandia made the news here in Finland in couple of places, for example our only decent rock radio, so many people coming to the shows are even expecting to hear it. Robin could ask Sakari Kuosmanen to join him on stage to sing it! (He's a dude who is frequently asked to sing Finlandia in sports events and such places, kind of like as an alternative to our national anthem. And no, I'm not serious.)

I was on that disabled viewing platform right behind you, sat next to the guy you can see but blocked out of view by Robin!

I had just clocked someone in a htgth tshirt and was thinking I should go over and say hi.  I decided against it cos I had front row on the disabled platform and didn't wanna give it up.  Then I saw them chatting to someone...it was only when he turned and walked away that I realised it was Finck!

I was absolutely gutted! 

Don't worry about being dirty...it was Download, we all were!  There is no way you can remain pristine after 4 days sitting on what feels like the surface of the sun, in the dust of a racetrack.  It was cool though :D
