I think it's a great song but I hate having to cover my ears during that terrible chorus.
You think there's any chance that someone will have the balls to tell Axl that the chorus needs to be changed?

if your talking about the "I would do anything for you" chorus, your dead wrong, respectfully...its a powerful chorus.....i love it....a lot of feeling and emotion.....

Well I thought the chorus sucked the first few times I listened to it but now I think its fucking brillant. Just give it a chance to grow on you.

I absolutely love it, I think this song is the next SCOM. You're wrong to bash their demos.

out of the new songs, this is by far my favorite...i love the chorus...

Like 50 seconds in... "It was along time ago!" or something like that.

i know this is suppose to be like an epic kinda song (from all the hype and november rainish sound), but IMO this is the worst of the new demo's.  I CAN'T STAND this song.  i dont know why, but i really dislike it.   :nervous:

i read maybe 2 weeks ago someone goating the TWAT chorus and i thought 'hey, he's sort of right.. the chrous kind of blows" but after hearing that song a bunch more times... i TOTALLY changed my mind. I love the chorus, love the song, and it doesnt need to be changed at all IMO... and even if it should be changed, its not gonna happen. ;D

I say I don't think Axl gives a rats ass about a few select people's opinion to the point where he feels he has to go and change his song for any single one of you. ?I'm sure Axl knows what he's doing so why not let him do it?

Its the best song ever.. the chorus is the best... the drums are the best.. the guitar solo amazing.. axl's voice is better than morrisons... the keyboard add the needed effects.. the lyrics are amazing.. its the best song ever written.. dont change anything about the song... i cant wait to hear a studio version its gonna be sooo much better than anything ever and change the face of rock n roll... and kick the music scene in the ass... i love TWAT

TWAT is a great song to listen to over and over; classic guns sound. If there is any song that I could hear the old guys doing, it would be this one.

Silkworms was unbelievable live. I think alot of fan opinion rests on the very weak Rio SBs: there are alot of neat effects in the HOB boot that are audible but not as striking as they were in person.

I dunno, to me there isn't really a proper chorus part in that song, sure there's the "there was a time" kinda chanting part, but that doesn't seem like a chorus to me.

I really like the song as it is, I hope it doesn't change.

I really like the song.  I think it is amazing the way it is.  If some changes are made, the intro could use some reworking and maybe make the strings in the background a little stronger, not a lot more, but a little bit.  The chorus you're talking about does disrupt the flow of the song, but I think it helps in building up for the second part.

This site wouldn't be here, Axl would be a nobody and we wouldn't get to hear some of the best music ever written.

Axl a nobody? Maybe, maybe not, we will never know.  But yeah we wouldn't of heard some of the greatest music ever.


TWAT is perfect the way it is now.  I don't see how someone can say this song sucks.

I guess the chorus ("it was a long time for you...") changed a bit on the live version, but I kinda prefer the demo version. Didn't like the song that much at first, now I love it!

When I first heard the song and the chorus came up I thought that it sounded funny, like it didn't fit.. but like others have said it sort of grows on you after a while. The rest of the song is amazing, and like I said give the chorus a chance and it'll grow on you, I don't think Axl would change it because some fans thought it sucked anyway.  : ok:

I really like that heavy riff they added into the chorus at Hammerstein.  I think the chorus is fine. 

The chorus is "It was a wrong time for me, it was a wrong time for you".

The thing is that the first 50 seconds or so is like a intro to the song, then after the "chorus" the real song begins.

The only part that I didn't like in this song, when I first heard it was that "There was a time, didn't wanna know at all..." and so on, which I think is the chorus of the song.

But you know, after a few listen it grew on me. Now I don't see there's anything wrong with this song. It's a perfect song and nothing needs to be changed in it. Can't wait for the album version.

I think the chorus is better in the most recent leak but the guitar is a lot louder.  It really hits harder which makes for a better chorus. 

From what we've heard on the leaks, Axl doesn't seem too attached to the classic verse/chorus/verse structure.  That may be the reason for the feeling amongst some that the choruses are "weak."  They're not meant to be choruses in the classic sense, because the song structure isn't classic.  Think about the more progressive epics GnR's done - Breakdown, Estranged, Coma.... they had a sprawling form that befitted the song content.  I think he's doing a similar thing in TWAT and, to a degree, Better.
