Title: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: kockstar999 on June 07, 2006, 02:47:44 AM METALLICA Debut New Song At Berlin Concert - June 6, 2006
METALLICA premiered a brand new song during their headlining appearance Tuesday (June 6) at Waldbuhne in Berlin, Germany. According to several fans that attended the gig, the as-yet-untitled track is about eight minutes long with a "killer main riff" and "lots of double-bass parts." 01. Motorbreath 02. Fuel 03. Wherever I May Roam 04. (Untitled New Song) 05. The Unforgiven 06. Battery 07. Master of Puppets 08. The Thing That Should Not Be 09. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) 10. Disposable Heroes 11. Leper Messiah 12. Orion 13. Damage, Inc. - - - - 14. Sad But True 15. Nothing Else Matters 16. One 17. Enter Sandman - - - - 18. Commando (RAMONES cover; with AVENGED SEVENFOLD on vocals) 19. Seek and Destroy Thats why Metallica are more exciting to watch than new GnR are... They vary up thier sets, debut new songs, play albums in entirety... I know take it to the metallica board or fuck metallica... . but it does show that bands can change thier setlists or play new songs and not get flamed for it as most of you seem to think GnR would be flamed if they busted out a new song that nobody knows.. blah blah blah and all that shit that everyone wants to hear AFD and nobody would like the new songs or whatever the fuck some of you use to defend the same setlist show after fucking show... Metallica at least has the balls to try new shit.. not get a new band and play old covers... hell even Steven Adler can do that shit... Flame away... Title: Re: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: YouCouldBeMine on June 07, 2006, 02:53:00 AM you've got a point.
but hetfield sucks. Title: Re: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: Tomorrows on June 07, 2006, 02:57:05 AM At least GnR are going on stage (as oppose to a year or two ago).
But yeah, youve got a point. That said, I care more if GnR played a new song than if Metallica previewed a whole new album. Title: Re: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: RichardNixon on June 07, 2006, 02:57:33 AM I agree that GN'R should mix things up, play new songs, play more UYI songs.
That said, If GN'R ever released "St. Anger" I would no longer be a fan. Title: Re: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: Skeba on June 07, 2006, 03:01:30 AM That's true. But what about the people that haven't heard the blues, or madagascar, or IRS, or Better?
Those are just as new to them as any other _new_ song that none of us have heard. GN'R have been playing a lot of festivals. And for those gigs, to bring out 50% material that's not even on an album, would propably really suck for the casual listener. Sure, at shows that are pure GN'R concerts, it would be more possible for them to play a 'new' song. But at those shows too, over 50% propably haven't heard the leaks, and some of them haven't even heard the live versions of some of the new songs from 2002. I, personally, don't really want any more new songs brought to the setlist. I really want to have some 'surprises' when I buy the record too. I won't mind if they play TWAT in Helsinki on the 5th, but I really don't wish for them to bring another new song to the setlist. Not before CD is out. Didnt axl say in london in 2002 that they were only playing the songs that they werent going to put on the album? those songs they play arent new anymore... 2001 isnt new..2002 isnt new... and if they wont be on the album anyways then why not play something else.. they played one of them on the VMA's... people have heard them... I dont buy that shit that the crowd wont enjoy something new... even just ONE new song or new Cover song would make for a nice suprise for the diehards too... i agree keep the casual fans happy but throw the diehards a bone sometimes too.. I agree there - chucking out one song (even a "new" one) and putting a new one isnt going to kill a concert. Its not going to start a riot or anything. A whole concert of new stuff start to finish would probably go over badly for a lot of people. Wait a minute, why am I even saying this??? It gets said about 100 times a day on this board anyway. They vary up thier sets, debut new songs, play albums in entirety... Metallica doesn't vary their sets that much plus they say the exact same scripted nonsense every concert. Its nice that they played a new tune but really most people haven't heard the Chinese Democracy tunes so playing 5 tunes that 80% of the people haven't heard seems a riskier move to me. Title: Re: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: F*ck Fear on June 07, 2006, 03:59:05 AM PUH LEASE!!!
Metallica are fucking trash now. I would rather go see a bunch of awsome fucking songs that are 20 years old, along with a few new ones I haven't heard live yet then go see those faggot's. Last video I saw of Metallica was last years Download I believe and James sounded like he belonged in Nsync. I've lost way too much respect for that band that will never return. Good job : ok: Title: Re: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: MeanBone on June 07, 2006, 04:57:07 AM metallica are great. love 'em.
Title: Re: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: jazjme on June 07, 2006, 05:39:02 AM This is the most asinine topic ever starrted and my guess by some dumb kid!
FIrst off, and please mods but Im gonna be frank here on this , and being the NYer I am Im just gonna speak as such, so forigive my french! :D :peace: o What kind of fucking moron would even try and compare.I guess the fucking whole world has heard Better and IRS and TWAT, stupid dipshit!. Totally fuckin absurd. ya know people really should get thier damn fucking facts straight and do a bit of reading before posting threads that are so ass backwards to the truth. AND lol., :hihi: for shits sake, how fuckin stupid is this (untitled new track), lol. Jesus fucking CHrist ! IF your so hip and think its so damn cool that a boring band (and yes I watched the show streamed live from rock in am), plays an album fron to back( kinda reminds me of when I saw the band Boston back in 87 and they played the entire Boston 3rd stage album, that just came out at the time from fuckng front to back!) I would rather stay home and fucking listen to the damn album, then be subjected to that again! Its not origional and not spontanious, at least at every guns show, they are indeed doin tunes that vastly 75% of those in attendance hacve really not heard and are not up GNR's collective ass sa we diehards are on the net. SO for those who think playing an album from front to back is a cool thing and the said (untitled new tune) great GO get up Metallicas ass!. lol!!! Cause Stupid threads like this just wanna make me go all postal NY on ya ass! Title: Re: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: graabein on June 07, 2006, 05:52:32 AM hi!
my first post!! can't see what all the fuzz i about, so metallica included ONE new song in their setlist. big deal.... GNR will probably play UYI songs in the future, they have always stuck with one setlist for each tour haven't they?? with one or two surprises though.. Title: Re: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: Eternal Flaming Sword of Death... on June 07, 2006, 05:59:56 AM i think i will nominate this one for dumbest thread of the year.....at least the dumbest one that I have seen in a while around here, this would fit in good at another certain forum
anyone agree? Title: Re: Too bad Axl's afraid to try something like this... Post by: jarmo on June 07, 2006, 06:07:43 AM Too bad GN'R isn't doing this, too bad they're not doing that etc etc.
Go listen to Metallica and enjoy what they do. Let the rest of us enjoy the fact that GN'R are on tour and are playing at the fucking Hammersmith Apollo in London tonight! /jarmo |
