I've heard samples from the new album off Nelly. Awesome stuff!

but I just don't like her...never did...don't know why, she's ok...but I just can't stand her  :-\

All I know is she got unbelivably hot.

I've only heard "man eater" and "promiscuous". So far.. I don't like it. I'm a pretty big fan of Nelly's 2 previous albums and was really looking forward to this one. So far, only man eater's a bit weirdly arranged chorus and some other parts have reminded me of her old stuff. I mean the songs that are out now, especially man eater, are pretty good songs, but I guess I've just come to expect 'more' (?) from her. I will give the album a proper chance when it's released, and see if only the singles are like that.

There's nothing frong with her doing this new type of thing. She can do whatever she pleases. But so far it's not really something I see myself listening to unlinke the other albums. Though I do like the fact that she's again trying something new, and wish her all the best.

Just heard a few more songs from the new album... "Say it right", "In Gods Hands", "Te Busque" and "Showtime".

All I can say is that thank god I was wrong on the first impression with the 2 first songs. Especially promiscuous isn't to my taste... yet at least. It seems to be a very versatile record. Some people concider this to be bad when there's really no common nominator to the songs (except for the girl's amazing voice). I don't think it's bad though, since I really enjoy almost every type of music, if it's.. well.. good.

Saying that she's a sell out is so fucking easy just because the new album isn't like her old material, or because she has wears a top in a music video. From the livepictures I've seen, she looks just like the Nelly she looked a few years back.

A sell out? You're unbelieveably original. A true artist 'sticks to his/her guns', and gives the fans exactly what was on the album before the new one, and the one before that one... over and over again. Cause that fucking rocks. If it ain't broken, why fix it!? Why ever try anything new, if you've already found a successful formula of making 'new' music...

yes because shes very original isnt she, we havent heard typical ghetto beat driven songs where the singer wears a way too much make up.

So you're basing your opinion now on the one single, and saying that she's a sell out based on that?

To me she's proven her songwriting capabilities on the first 2 albums already, and can now pretty much do whatever she pleases (as she was before). The fact that she's? (or propably the record company has) chosen that song to be her single, doesn't take anything away from it.

I mean does the fact of having a mainstream sounding song on a CD make a person aoutomatically a sell out?

well i dont think she should go with the in crowd look. i never liked her songs but i respected her highly because she always seemed to be different from the other female artists around at the time.

From what im seeing and hearing shes lost that so shes lost my respect.

and the sell out thing, i call a artist a sell out when they either do "commercially friendly" music or do whats in the trend. Like how AFI went from a form of pop punk to emo.

Sure, if that would be the only thing that was on the album, yes, your definition would be closer to the truth, but if you listen to the other tracks on the forthcoming album, it'll show that Furtado's touch can be heard on the tracks.

The fact that she had Timbaland producing shows, and I wasn't a huge fan of the idea, but it's her cd and I'm no one to critisize her for making that decision.

I've never disliked her or liked her. But I've always though she was damn hot. her new song(Promiscuous Girl) is alright as far as dancey bar songs go. I get alot of requests for it in the bar.

What would Nelly Furtado need to "sell out" for?  She was already successful to a wide audience.  This is probably just the music she wants to make right now.

I watched some of the concert while waiting to see if GN'R would come on the Rock Am Ring stream, I thought the first song was fantastic.  It took some digging but I found out that it was "Say It Right".  I think I preferred it live where the background vocals aren't drowned out (and nothing beats the live guitar)... this song has made me interested to check out more of the CD.
