Title: Hopefully CITR will be played at the Dublin-Gig
Post by: ibelieveinaxl on June 05, 2006, 10:55:58 AM
It would make sense if Brian May is gonna be there. That can be awesome.

How do you know Brian May is gonna be there?
If he'd be anywhere it'd be Hammersmith surely.

Although if he is, I'm really excited!!

That would be great but hasn't Axl said that they don't even know if CITR will be on CD at this point ?
Then it would meke sense if they stick on the new material that is going to be released this fall - late fall ;D

But I'd die to see Axl & Brian may on the same stage, playing that very song

Just curious, where did this speculation on what songs will be on CD come from? It seems people are pretty confident CITR wont be on CD, but I dont recall ever reading anything that stated that. I always just thought it was an assumption, since it was a song recorded with Brian May and no other reason (which dosnt even really make any sense).

I mailed Fortus for a while ago and asked him if he knew something about if Brian May would play with them at Hammersmith.

His answer was like this:

"Wow!  Really?!  Great!  THanks.
richard"

Hmmm...

Like i've said before I think the rest of the leaks were intentional apart from this song, so I don't think he'll play it.

And Axl said on the radio interview that he wasn't sure if it's going to be on CD, And he said Brian May was only on the Demo of the song, so he probably won't be on the final version.

And the current songs he's playing (Madagascar, IRS, Better, TWAT, The Blues, Chinese Democracy) all have a very positive chance of being on the album so he's playing them. And since CITR doesn't have a strong chance on CD then I can't see him playing it live, to an audience who unless listen to the demo are (maybe) never going to hear the song.

Hmmm...

That sounds made up, why would he respond so clueless like that?

Axl said it when he guested during Eddie Trunk's radio show, a few weeks ago : ok:

That would be awesome if they played CITR with Brian May! ?But if there isn't a strong chance it will be on CD, it's probably doubtful that we'll see this happen. ?I just hope the song does end up on CD (or the next album). ?It would be a shame not to hear a studio version of this song - is CITR the next Crash Diet? ? :-\ ?

Backstage after MSG 2002 he said Catcher in the Rye wouldn't be on the first album. That's the first time anyone reported that they were planning ahead for 2 or 3 albums of material.

Yeah... Can you imagine seeing Bach, May and Axl on the same night?

Mmm interesting. Maybe you should look through the music on offer in HMV, Virgin or anywhere. There are far worse bands than Queen. In fact, its a tougher job finding a better band then a worse band.
Axl has a lot of respect for Brian May and especially Queen, so if he had a chance to feature him in a show I think he would.

Someone asked May if the rumors were true, he said to the emailer, it has been discussed

Like its been said...GnR really should start adding this song to their setlist...

When Axl actually first wheeled out the piano at the Hammerstein, I initially was hoping it was Catcher he would end up playing but not mean't to be I guess... :-\

And even though we've only heard Brian playing on the track, I really think if GnR played the song live even without Brian, Robin would totally own the song...
 : ok:

Id be very surprised if they start playing this. From what we've heard, its not in the final 13 (which is farcical given the atrocious Madagascar is)
