Sounds like a load of shit to me. AXL ROSE is considering chopping off his distinctive long red hair, because he is sick of being recognised in the street. Although he has been out of the limelight for years, and always goes out in disguise, the GUNS N' ROSES frontman is stunned he is still spotted by fans. He said it was amazing that how in NY, even with a hat and glasses on, people still recognize him.

His hair was thinning in his 20's then he came back with extra thick flowing hair in 01 at 40? It's all dead horse I know but judging by the way men loose their hair and when your hair is thin in your 20's it's more then likely by 40 it would have been much thinner or balding would occur..
