Misleading title. Makes it sound like it's an actual rumor as opposed to total speculation and "what if?" talk.

I tried to watch the VMA's last year and it totally sucked.  They need something to get some life into it.  But if it's anything like last years I wouldn't want GNR to be a part of it.  I think P-Diddy hosted and it was a gangster's paradise.  Just terrible.

If the album comes out around the time of the show, why not?

You don't have to answer it, read the original question---> "what are the odds?".  They are supposed to return to the USA in September and I think it would be cool if they could make an appearance.  I'm not saying they will. but there's nothing wrong in hoping it may happen.  Shit half of this board is made up with these type of threads ::)

Ever since the MTV awards left NYC  it has sucked  big time.   It has always sucked but atleast it was watchable  now it is a total mess.  In needs to return to Radio Music hall where it belongs,  I don't like it being in Miami now.

Its not happening. Not without an album out. MTV already did that with him in 2002. He had his chance at a huge buzz with no album. They aren't falling for it again. If there's a single or a CD release date set in stone, maybe it will happen.

It's strange the manner in which certain members of this community decide which threads are deemed "worthy" and which are not. The lack of consistency makes it even more strange. Is there a magic eight-ball involved?

To answer your question, cybercurves, anything can happen. It would be some good exposure as far as promoting a US fall tour.

i read somewhere that the vma's weren't gonna be in miami again, cause the ratings slipped the past two years....and its way too early to start this speculation, but yeah the timing is perfect cause gn'r will be back in the us, and about to hopefully start a us tour and have a new single.

VMA's this year are on August 28th in NYC.  Seems like a perfect time for GnR to drop by and make themselves seen by the general public again  :beer:

August seems like the off month between the European and inevitable US tour, maybe we'll even have a single and a release date by then  :smoking:
