Here Today... Gone To Hell!

ok i been trying and it's just not clicking..reviews so  far have been great for the new lineup and even though Axl sounds hell of a lot better than in 02 i still dont think he sounds that good, and this new lineup i just dont know, i felt a lot more strongly about it when they had Buckethead but I guess even he got tired of waiting around..i just dont see this band as Guns N' Roses and i just wish Axl would just change the name..i dont think this deserves to be GN'R...and i have no problem with them playing GN'R songs i mean Robert Plant pretty much plays all Zeppelin songs but even in all his greatness he doesnt go around calling himself Led Zeppelin just change the name Axl..dont worry your album is so anticpated it will sell no matter what name on it...you dont need the GN'R name..GN'R was something that was more than great. I know im gonna get herassed terribley and i accept that...but i do love the Guns N' Roses and trust me i love Axl but sorry i dont agree with what he is doing.

If you don't agree then don't follow it. Its a bit late to change the name now, especially all that he has been through.

I'm sick of endless pointless threads like this one. This is a guns n roses fan forum, if you haven't accepted the new guns n roses after 7 years then you probably never will so either get over it or beat yourself in the dead horse section.

I for one am trying to be a supportive fan and build excitment for whats to come.... not constantly saying the same old shit about how this isn't gnr... whether you like or not it is.

The new band is great, ironically it's Axl's pale imitation of his former self and his stale setlists that are letting the side down at the moment.

I diagree that his setlists are stale and thousands of screaming people would disagree too.   Sure if you keep track such as us and see the same songs over and over again then yes to some it would seem stale.....doncha think cuz it's cuz we know or are going to know the setlist for every concert he is gonna do?   I mean hell if we tracked other bands it would be the same thing.   The beauty of it is..is that the set list will change IMO when the album comes out.

see im not saying the new band isnt great but GN'R was more than great and this band isnt gn'r and this next part for scabbie and crash diet... maybe wether u like it or not its not how does one man make up guns n roses? Paul McCartney call himself the Beatles, does Robert Plant call himself Led Zeppelin, did Billy Corgan call himself the Smashing Pumpkins even after he wrote bout 97% of there songs NOPE only Axl would do sumtin like that and dont get pissed at me i like the new songs and i odnt get why you think it would be to late to change the name after all he been through u mean his what maybe 25 shows in the past 10 years??? im sorry its not guns n roses its Axl Rose and the album should be called....Axl Rose:Chinese Democracy...Axl wasnt the whole band i dont see how u can think its right and be honest i lost a lot of respect for him after his pathetic insults about Slash, Matt, Duff and even worse Scott Weiland who had never even mention Axl's name in a negative way until those immature disrespectful comments and we all know who they came from.

You just have to look at it this way and alot of people on this board don't.

If Scott Weiland, Slash, Duff, and Matt played all GNR songs except for 5 songs, at the most, and called themselves Guns N' Roses, would it be GNR? 


Nope, just a GNR cover band with orignal members.


Just like until this band puts out an album and plays a set with 90% of their own material, they are just a cover band with the greatest frontman ever.

btw, thats no disrespect to the new guys (except for Finck who I think is horribly overrated) b/c I love the new songs, but they aren't GNR.

I've seen the new band... the fucking rock. The new songs are great. Should axl have just went his own way and  left the gnr legacy as was.... maybe? Did he... no. He sees it differently than you. But whether or not you like it its his band and its called gnr. If you don't like it you'll have plenty of time to get use to it because he is not going to see you tired post and go "yes i've been wrong... this isn't gnr thank you to neuby87 for showing me the light... no one had ever said that before"

The fact is keeping the gnr name is a great business move, and in his opinion everyone left not him so why should he change the name.

God this is such and old arguement.   Axl isn't like all those other guys..he is Axl...he marches by his own tune and does things his own way no matter what anybody has to say about it.    I have had mixed feelings on the name myself...but this is it kids...so it's either accept it or don't.

Yes they are. GN'R never broke up and Axl (and Dizzy) are the only members of the old line up who didn't leave. And this topic has beaten over and over and over again so Im not going into it.

If you don't think GNR broke up, you're fucking crazy.  Axl may have never left but we all know he forced everyone out.  I love Axl, he is the greatest frontman to ever live.  I'm just not a blind follower like most of the posters on HTGTH have become.   I can love his music and still be objective. People should try it sometime

Why do people who have had absolutely zero creative input into the band think they can dictate to Axl, who owns the name, what he should or shouldn't call his band. And moreover, why the fuck do people care so much what the name of the band is? If Slash, Izzy, Duff or even Tracii want to whine about it, then fair enough but everyone else should go look up the difference between customer (which you are) and shareholder (which you aren't).

Well this is it...this is GNR now...GNR of old is in that place in our hearts and minds and unless a reunion is to happen this is the GNR that is here and now.  Don't get me wrong me as much as 99% of the members here...love and have always loved GNR of old but this what it is now and IMO Axl is rocking the fucking house...and thousands of screaming fans can't be wrong. 

and all i hear is this repeated " see the band for what it is" i odnt know how that defends anything i am seeing it for what it is....and whatever it is its not GN'R...Wanna Be's except Axl actually i wont say that cause Tommy and Robin are cool but the rest and including Dizzy are just lame..remember the rest of the band didnt even consider him a member back in the day..all he shoulda been was a touring keyboardist cause Axl could have done all the piano work in studio by himself afterall he was a way better piano player than Dizzy

And as usual if you say antyhing against the new band, the thread is locked/delted/moved....

i know its a shame that people cant handle opinions against Axl and his wrong doing but what can ya do...funny how one guy can just kinda make you lose respect for him and make you go for VR all the way..maybe cause they formed a different band and went on with there careers and didnt try to makie sumitn that is impossible to live up to
