Title: Dizzy Playing Bowie Post by: St.heathen on May 30, 2006, 06:00:40 AM Loved hearing Dizzy's Piano solo at Rock in Rio where he played Bowie's Ziggy Stardust! Totally unexpected. Has that been a regular feature at the new gigs? Shame Axl Didn't join in, i would have loved that. Both Axl And Bowie are Heroes of mine. I think Axl could sing that great!

Title: Re: Dizzy Playing Bowie Post by: estebanf on May 30, 2006, 10:21:05 AM Dizzy used to play ''Ziggy Stardust'' also with the old lineup. Pay attention to several 1993 concerts: he plays the Bowie classic in the middle of the acoustic version of ''Knockin' On Heaven's Door''
Argentina 16.07.93 is the best version ever, just superb Title: Re: Dizzy Playing Bowie Post by: veritas55 on May 30, 2006, 11:08:01 AM I liked what Dizzy did -- but I would have cut it in half (it went on a bit long). Ron's Don't Cry was magical (but his shredding wasn't, IMHO). I liked Robin's solo and the Beautiful thing was great-- and don't know why so many people bitch about that; a good tune is a good tune and they played that thing brilliantly (would be great to see all three guitarists do a solo). (by the way, I think Linda Perry, not Fortus, wrote that tune, although Fortus may have played on it.)
