Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I noticed that there are no shows booked for August at all. So maybe they are gonna take August to finish up the album, set the release date, put out a single, and then get back out on the road in September. Thats what it looks like to me.

That sounds good to me, hopefully that's the plan.

it would make sense to do that but we are not talking about a band that does things that make sense most of the time

or the will do some shows in asia

Maybe come home regroup, hang out around town, make the press go crazy by showing up in clubs. So far they've been setting up for a great return.. Dropping that cd would be a good idea.. Especially before touring the US...

I kinda thought that MIGHT be the plan. I mean, if the record is coming out in the Fall and Axl has said that the majority of the music and vocals are done then surely GNR would have to back in to the studio before the US tour to finish everything up?

They've been years finishing up the album, what makes you think they'll get in done in August?

Maybe its been mixed / mastered right now in time for when they return. Or its done and its purely a timing thing.

yeah I agree. Axl will probably be working with the mixing and mastering, but Im guessing all the others work is done.

i personally believe the album is done and ready to go... it just hasn't been announced yet.  i mean, what did Axl play in that club recently... surely not demos?

anyway, maybe GNR will play some Japanese festivals in august? maybe even some Australian dates before heading back to the US... who knows.

Put CD out end of august then do US tour starting in NYC or thats what i think would happen. Then go do the show they announced in Ca.

I'm willing to make a wager with anyone that there will be no release prior to the LA show in September.  I would guess first or second Tuesday in November myself.

i wont take you're bet because you're probably right--but i would put the date closer to October. I also think they will be in Japan in August.

Yeah August would be nice but even Axl himself said December, and he hasn't been known to underestimate.  So I wouldn't count on it.

And when did Axl say December? The only thing I know he has said is "Fall".

For the sake of the fans, and the band, I really hope the album is released this year. The legal case has been dismissed, the band are together Axl is sane and the general concensus is that we like some, if not all, of the new material. There are no more excuses.

In reply to the original post August does seem like the time for the band to wrap the album up. My slight niggling concern is what if they decide when they get back to the studio that they want Ron to re record BHs parts on the songs either because they think he'll sound better or they just want him on the tracks instead because he's in the band and BH is not. Sounds ok on the face of it but this is no ordinary band what should maybe take 10 days max studio time could suddenly see another delay to CD and whilst I'd much rather have Ron on the album than BH, I'd rather have CD with BH than no CD but that Ron is recording and will be finished 'soon'.

I SURE hope they don't have Ron re-record BH's parts. Then the album wont be out until '08 for crying out loud. There will be President Clinton before the new GN'R!

From what we are led to believe they still have some songs off the third album to finish recording so I'm sure Ron will have his chance to contribute. I don't think he's in the band under the impression he will be recording with them, they are probably just seeing how he fits in.

If the band were trying to get Buckethead back, I would say there's a good chance he'll feature on the album(s).

It's kinda do or die time...Axl said Fall so one would think yes they would finish it up...really I am surprised it's not done already or am I :-X ? You know that atleast us on the forums are going to hold him to the Fall release that he said from his own mouth so, even tho this band is 100% unpredictable...you know come Sept. we are all going to like little kids on Christmas eve waiting for Santa to come and give us that present we have been asking for, for so long.

Axl said late fall. Fall ends on December 20th, if I'm not mistaken, so December sounds right.


I just hope Axl got mixed a bit regarding what's left to do such as more studio time for songs that'll come later, on the record after CD. Otherwise, No way he can finish a record AND tour the US AND put out that record within 4 months (Aug-Dec).

If the album came out in '07, that'd be ok, AS LONG AS WE GET A RELEASE DATE!

I think a fall US tour is a good sign though, as it'd be retarted to tour the US again w/o the new album.

So touring the states again in the fall with the album slated to come out sometime in 2007 is a good sign? bwrbwr.

If the album comes out in '07, I doubt there would be a fall tour this year.

But Axl already said there is gonna be a US tour this year, and he also said the the album would "absolutely" be out this year too. So I say August is gonna be when he finishes his vocals, if there not done. Then its gonna be mixed and mastered. I believe that all the music is already recorded for Chinese Democracy. Axl just needs to finish vocals, if they're not done, like I said above. Then they'll focus on finishing the music and stuff for the 2nd and 3rd albums next year.


So I predict a single in time for the US tour (September), and then the album gets dropped in October or November.
