Title: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: jimb0 on May 27, 2006, 11:10:57 PM Terrible Mixing. But Axl seemed spot on. I'm not an Axl ball hanger but those were a lot better than NYC.
And if you just want to say it's all the bands fault for the terrible sound guys you are really being closed minded. Listen closely to rio, and to the entire sound in an expensive pair of recording head phones. You can hear that it is damn good, they just had some bafoon doing levels. Sorry for this post but you know it's truuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm not one of them. But was it just me or did Axl have a certain rasp and enthusiasm on IRS that he didn't do in NYC? He sung it clean there. And tonight it seemed he went all out even though he was "soft" in the mix.
Rio doesn't sound perfect over more expensive equipment, but if you listen closely you can hear a lot more than you thought you could As for Better. It wasn't "the Best" but I feel his voice wasn't over strained as in NYC but he did a good job of "taming" it. But hopefully we'll get a DVD in the end after the tours with good Levels. Too bad we didn't get Twat or CD. Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: Christos AG on May 28, 2006, 12:11:11 AM As I?ve said in so many threads, there was probably a fuckup with the live stream.
The sound there was amazing. And Better was AMAZING too. Title: better Post by: mrgnrdvd on May 28, 2006, 12:14:24 AM better was awesome but at about 2 minute mark,
pittman fucks it up listen to that part?? what is the awful noise http://downloads.thenewguns.com/rio/16-better-rir2006-thenewgunsdotcom.mp3 Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: MR W,AXL ROSE on May 28, 2006, 12:14:36 AM As I?ve said in so many threads, there was probably a fuckup with the live stream. did the live show sound different in parts than others or was that just the AOL feed, just to clear this upThe sound there was amazing. And Better was AMAZING too. Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: agropolus on May 28, 2006, 12:16:38 AM The portuguese guys at the radio broadcast said the sound in the venue was great but the sound they were getting for the live feed was terrible, they were apologizing for it all the time.
But I was impressed with IRS, in the end the fucked up audio mix made me hear some things in the song I had not noticed before, the keyboards in IRS are so amazing and Axl hit every freaking note of it, it was amazing. I already liked IRS, but now I'm sure the studio version will be 100000 better than the demo we have Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: agropolus on May 28, 2006, 12:17:23 AM As I?ve said in so many threads, there was probably a fuckup with the live stream. did the live show sound different in parts than others or was that just the AOL feed, just to clear this upThe sound there was amazing. And Better was AMAZING too. Yeah, that happened to me too, guess it was the screwed up sound mix Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: Christos AG on May 28, 2006, 12:18:56 AM The sound was great at all times.
No problems at all. The only problem there was, was Tommy?s bass in the WTTJ, that?s why he broke it... Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: agropolus on May 28, 2006, 12:20:59 AM The sound was great at all times. No problems at all. You guys were lucky, in RIR 3 the sound was shitty (both in the venue and in the broadcast) Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: warrocks on May 28, 2006, 12:22:02 AM he broke it??? :o you mean in front of all?
Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: ShotgunBlues1978 on May 28, 2006, 02:35:30 AM Axl sounded amazing on IRS at Hammerstein, I can't judge the Rio show because I wasn't there and the audio we have his vocals are drowned out in parts, but at Hammerstein he was right on for that song
Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: Christos AG on May 31, 2006, 06:45:51 PM he broke it??? :o you mean in front of all? Yeah, I thought they showed that on TV... Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: Axlfreek on May 31, 2006, 07:36:53 PM better from rir5 sounded completely awful in my opinion.
Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: jameslofton29 on May 31, 2006, 07:59:35 PM And Better was AMAZING too. Really?? :o :o I am really looking forward to September when I can hear this myself. You're right. Not only did the live stream suck, but the boots aren't doing these new songs justice either. I have yet to hear Better sound good, or IRS.Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: Back Off Bitch on May 31, 2006, 08:02:34 PM better from rir5 sounded completely awful in my opinion. Right before the end, it sounded great... They upped his mic and he sounded great... Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: badapple81 on May 31, 2006, 08:04:27 PM Yep - just listen to Nightrain , sounds great. Axl did not sound bad, it was the stream. You can just hear how amazing Axl's voice is now throughout.
Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: ElNonoPololo on May 31, 2006, 08:37:38 PM better from rir5 sounded completely awful in my opinion. Right before the end, it sounded great... They upped his mic and he sounded great... I think the screaming part in the middle (" I never wanted you to be...") was great, but the falsetto at the beginning was almost painful... Still, the band pulled the song off pretty well. Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: cobalt on May 31, 2006, 09:23:06 PM Axl's voice in Better at RiR sounds terrible IMHO, whiny, weak, and nasally.
Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: Bostonrose on May 31, 2006, 09:27:55 PM what you people don't seem to understand is that the mixing doesn't hide the fact that his voice sucked.
If his volume was too loud, or to low...that is still the way he sounded oh forget it you people are like sheep Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: brock on May 31, 2006, 11:09:29 PM better from rir5 sounded completely awful in my opinion. i agree 100%, i watched it again on youtube and its painful, just a mess. Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: Top-Hatted One on June 01, 2006, 02:02:31 AM Axl sounded a lot better in Madrid singing Better

Title: Re: Rio = Best vocal renditions of Better/Irs Post by: daviebuckethead on June 01, 2006, 05:43:50 AM the bootleg i hasd of better @RIR was as fast as fuck, i posted about this yesterday, but somehow now that someone else has posted it seems relevant ::)
..... back on topic, i thought irs sounded good, better was good but axl was trying very hard to catch up with the band who were playing it almost double speed!! but maybe there is something wrong with the bootleg i have? |
