You could have posted them all and said damn slash needs tio drop some pounds, his stomach is bloated.. Axl was heavier at rio, from his face to his overall bodyweight... Also I really hadn't seen axl until rio since 1994 with bruce so he drastically changed...

Slash always had one and I don't think that is anyone's baussines but his.
We all have a little tummy unless one is a hard core body building freak spending hours in the gym every day.
Slash doesn't look any different than he did a year ago and I have many pictures from the VR tour to proove that.

I have to admit I did notice his gut in the first shot, but he looks really good otherwise. And Slash has never had pretty boy-looks to lose, unlike Axl. He may have been somewhat good-looking in his youth, maybe, but for the most part he's always looked like he would smell of fishy cooch, stale cigarettes, and afro sheen. He's sticking to his bad-ass rock 'n' roll look come hell or high water, and I really dig that.

Also saw a pic of Gilby Clarke from the same night. Dude hasn't aged a DAY since his GN'R days.

Well I think what's funny here is that Dave comes on to bash Slash and praise Axl (that was after all, his intention as he has proved), yet if he really wants to fight on looks ...

Axl looks like a tacky vegas pimp these days ... with black man's braids in his fucking ginger hair! LOL!

Slash still looks liek the rocker he always was and will be ... The guitarist we all loved.

But really it was more than a few band angle pics that caused that bashing.

The problem was that axl had basicly been out of the public eye for a long time, and his 2001-2 look was substantially different to his 1993 look. Different clothes, different hair (well in 2002 anyway), new band, and of course 10 years of life on. As people had no other immage to go on they sort of subconsiously expected to see a YUI style axl and we're taken aback.

Slash on the other hand has basicly always looked the same, he gets new tatts sometimes, doesn't always wear the hat anymore, (though does sometimes) new slogan on the T-shirt...but basicly he doesn't change his look...clearly when a guy is about to turn 41, and has lived a rock god lifestyle which isn't too kind on the body, its not all that shocking that he'd have a few more lines on the face, and a couple of pounds of partying around the belt.

So its not that its "ok" for slash and not Axl. Its more that Axl's changes where a surprise and Slash's arn't.

However...more to the point..the reality is that both these men are fucking pure rock legends now no matter what happens now - just from their past even (and I hope a bright future both for GNR and VR respectively too) - but we can't expect them not to change occasionaly - they're not wax models after all!

The bottom line is that Axl could chop all his hair off, and he might look strange compared to what i think of in my mind when i think of him, but he is still going to be the most amazing frontman of his generatiion (and definately the one of the best ever). Slash could put on 300 pounds and he will still be a rock god too. Maybe he'd look wierd compared to what MTV says he and others should look like - but he'll still play guitar with more emotion than most people - he'd still be one of the great blues-rock guitarists of all time,  he'd still be pure fucking rock and roll.

These guys are a cut above 99% of people in talent , thats why they're famous. So forgive Axl for wanting to try a new haircut after 20 years, and forgive Slash for enjoying a beer when he's stayed alive in rock and roll at 41!

Ruthermore - to complete my rant - I just have to say - why is it a competition anyway?? Why do people have to hate Slash or hate Axl. I love them both, were excellent in the same band, now they've chosen to work with others and  are in different bands, and that now means I have 2 bands I enjoy!

Throwing shit on either Axl or Slash does not improve the music of the other. Like bashing VR wont make CD a great album - it will be great cos it has good songs. And bashing Axl's hair or whatever won't make VR a cool band - they already are - i loved them live!  And given that both Axl and Slash are both rock gods its just stupid to make a war out of it anyway - they don't fight anymore - so why do we?

It was becuase Axl had botox dumbass. If Slash got botox and we all said it was alright, then we'd be hypocrites.

It's funny how you think it's just the people in the VR section who say Axl was fat, when really it was most people in the media who were saying it.

And yet, you go ahead and post a fat Slash photo to try and prove a point. It just makes you seem as infantile as the people you're trying to make a point out of.

I've seen pictures of Slash looking fat back in the early 90's, so this picture doesn't really prove anything, or take anything away from how great Slash is.

This thread has obviously gone the way of many others, Axl vs Slash, who's fat who's not etc.
