I'll be there too. If I came home not too tired (or too drunk  :rofl:) I'll post the setlist if someone want it. It's 16:30 here, the suporting act starts at 20:45 (I dont know who the fuck is the supporting group... someone knows?). Guns will take the stage at 22:00 (if Axl is in good mood...  : ok:).  When Axl and old Guns came in 1993 they were about 1 hour late...  Will today be different? who knows!!!?   :hihi:

The publicity for the show has been very poor, a few posters in the streets and adds in music magazines. No media cover. I dont know how many tickets are sold.

We were just going to tell you about the aftermath of the Tommy Hilfiger punch up with Axl Rose, but instead we have some inside gossip - mere speculation but intriguing nonetheless.

Apparently the Guns n' Roses' Madrid show that was supposed to take place this coming Sunday, has been brought forward and now Axl has gone AWOL. We nor anyone else we know, knows where he is and whether the tour will continue as planned.

Please folks, read a little before posting.  I hate to be condescending, but I have read more uninformed, blathering non-sense in this thread, than I have in a month on the complete board.  The show was changed to the 25th a month ago, and that has been well documented.  Can you please, some of you, refrain from making dumb posts, which only clog up the board, and serve as the basis for rumors based on complete disinformation. 

The show is tonight, in Madrid!  It is on as planned and will rock!  GNR will be there, tonight!!!

The show is apperantly sold out, which is always good news. It would have sucked if the very first show of this tour wasn't sold out.

I hope all of you going have a kick ass time as I did for 2 nights in NYC! Please let us know how the crowd was. I want to know if they were moshing, jumping, crowd riding. etc. I think Gn'R enjoys when the crowd goes nuts like the Hammerstein Crew.

Where did you get confirmation of this?  I heard it had been sold out for the past week, but they released a few hundred tickets, as usual, yesterday.

Well, I read what you posted yesterday (someone from mygnr said it was sold out) and called the organization again. They told me tickets were not on sale online anymore. I was told I could buy tickets at the venue, but there were not many left.

The band (minus Axl) is doing a soundcheck right now. They're playing Rocket Queen.

All I smell is my chimichanga.

Anyone know, just generally, why they play so much at a soundcheck? I would have thought a couple of songs would be enough to figure out the acoustics and levels. Is it for rehearsal purposes too?

whats the capacity for tonights concert?

1) Probably a bit of it IS rehersal.

2) They're outdoors for the first time in awhile....might take 'em a bit to get the sound just right.

3) Different songs bring different acoustic elements to light, and might require slight tweeks to the board.

4) They just traveled quite a ways and might be "stretching their legs", so to speak.

I think it's some sort of rehearsal as well, get an idea of just how big the stage is. Maybe they need to work on the lights as well.

Fifteen years ago, Axl would not have been at this soundcheck. He would have been between some hookers legs.

Ah, the setlist was pretty consistent during the 92/93 Illusion tour.

They can play CITR all they want but they Rhiad and Bedoins is not a very good song, in my opinion.

Well, back then it was which 20 out of 30 songs they'd choose to do. So, it wasn't that predictible. Plus, the opening was often different.
In 2002 it was which 18 out of 18 (and a half if you count Rhyad) they'd do. In NYC 2006 it was which 18 out of 20 or 21. So there is improvement. And the acoustic gig was very smart. I hope they stop opening with 1. Jungle 2. Easy 3. Brownstone though. I mean, this opening just loses its energy after a while.

The band have been together for nearly 5 years with the exception of one person and this is there second tour. this isn't an "early point".

In Europe, it was the Illusion albums that launched Guns N' Roses into Ultra-Stardom. Sure, Appetite For Destruction might be America's baby, but telling from the way the Illusions surpassed Appetite sales in most European countries...it would make more sense to play a more Illusion influenced setlist during this European Tour.

gotta respect the reporters lol.  When your at a GNR concert, it is REALLY hard to think about anything other then what's going on in front of you.  Even between songs, your straining to hear what Axl may say.
