My friend told me he heard on the radio that Guns would headline inland invasion. I turned the radio on and they reccaped apparently they talked to Axl live... one of the guys was like " oh that was really Axl i thought it was the guy int he other room " then he said guns are headlining... so go figure

I think the bands listed at this link and the date are wrong, although the venue is correct.

Axl said they joined in and played an entire Van Halen song last night after Bumblefoot started playing it as a solo.

"Late this year" pretty much corresponds to fall.  Since Winter starts December 21st (or maybe 22nd?)

Axl moved the drink of Hilfiger's girlfriend at the bar because he was afraid it would spill. Hilfiger saw him move it and hit him on the arm. Axl tried to calm him down, but Hilfiger kept hitting Axl. Hilfiger's security escorted Hilfiger out of the building.

I love O&A, but interviews arent their forte.  They all dig Guns I think - Nortons called Axl one of the best recently...but Id much rather hear him on Ron & Fez.  Itd be a much more substantive interview.

Speaking of Ron & Fez, producer East Side Dave is halfway through a "Power Hour" (60 shots of beer).  He just said W. Axl Rose is his rock n' roll hero and his favorite song is "Locomotive," which he then sang the chorus to.  Then he ran down some other songs, telling other DJs to start playing "Rocket Queen" alongside "Paradise City" and "Welcome To The Jungle."  Dave talks about GNR a lot actually.  He was praising the new demos a while back, especially "Better."

This was probably the first time Ive heard "Locomotive" discussed or mentioned in any maistream medium not involving an actual member of the band.

That was changed last year when Motley Crue headlined the KROQ Weenie Roast...

With Indie 103.1 in LA now the trailblazing force for new music in that area, it's not surpising
KROQ would go a bit more mainstream. ?

Smart move on their part, both The Crue and GNR's names are synonymous with the Sunset Strip scene of the mid late 80's. ? It's not surprising KROQ would capitalize on the retro aspect of the 2..

The best part is that Axl sounds very confident that the album will be out this year.

Please don't compare Motley Crue with GN'R....

I've been reading this stuff all day as well as listening to the KROQ interview with Axl, and it just now hit me that I will be living in L.A. by the time GN'R are playing the Inland Invasion! This such great news for me cuz I had tickets to see them this summer in Europe, but I won't be able to make it to that show, so I've been kind of bummed about that the last few days, however, I should be able to make it to Inland Invasion!

And yeah, that was a great interview. I know people have mentioned it before, but it's true, Axl is sounding a lot happier these days. More so than he did back in 2002.

I've been waiting to see G N R forever.  I'm happy that they are finally coming to CA, but my question is this: At a show like this with tons of bands, should I expect to see their regular, full set-list they will be playing on their tour, or they just play "a few songs"?  Because if it's not a full list then I'd rather wait to see them or go somewhere else if I have to.  What do you guys think?

GN?R frontman Axl Rose revealed the news Friday (May 19) during an on-air segment with KROQ hosts Kevin and Bean. It will be the band?s first Los Angeles gig in more than 15 years, Rose said. And who would have imagined even a few days ago that the long-dormant yet suddenly ubiquitous GN?R would be back playing an acoustic set for actress Rosario Dawson on her birthday? The band did just that Thursday night at the Plumm in New York, showing up to play 11 cuts, including "Used to Love Her," "Mr. Brownstone" and "Sweet Child O? Mine.".

With 65,000 seats available, are tickets going to be a bit easier to get than say the Hammerstein Ballroom tix? :P

If this is indeed the opening show back on US soil than the hype and pure excitement will be worth the 20 hour trip or whatever it shall be from Canada... :D
