GUNS N ROSES IN THE UK

I've been told that Axl as well as the rest of the band have just got into the UK and are in Sussex (near London) and are filming for a video, I'm not sure what video but that is what they are doing.

I'll keep you updated as I get more information.


I had to write that from memory Because less then five minutes later the thread was removed and there was no more mention of it.

Now this topic was either removed immediatly because:

A) He wasn't aloud to post it and got wrong for doing so.

B) He got it wrong and GnR were not really in the UK.


People who have been here along time know I don't talk shit or start lies, Im just posting here from memory what he said before the topic was removed.

They were supposed to be in Shepperton Studios in Middlesex day before yesterday for something or another. However management cancelled as the the studios wanted to much ??? for insurence. The equipment and stuff was setup and the crew were at hand and stuff was tested but nothing happened.

I don't see why they would be in Middlesex now, they could've been there around the Hammersmith dates. Pretty interesting. I wonder what they were planning on doing there for their video that they couldn't do in the US or any other countries?

Actually, my post was meant to be a little sarcastic. The insiders said a video was done for that years ago(at the time Axl himself said CD wasn't coming out 'soon'). I didn't really believe that then, and I dont believe this either. In my opinion, a new GNR video will probably be recorded at one of the shows on this tour. I doubt we see any epic bloated videos like during the UYI era. Just something simple and to the point.

Yeah, I think something sparser and artier would suit this band

youd think that Axl would have learned from the bloated era of Guns with things like videos - we'll see I guess, he hasnt learned other key lessons one would imagine he'd have learnt from that era so it wouldnt surprise me if he came out with more epic bloat on the video front

I was in Weybridge yesterday.  You know what's really weird? I have a friend who lives 1 mile from Weybridge, and some Hollywood based music producer visited her 2 weeks ago to asked about buying her house, and even said they were going to build a studio for recording at the end of summer if they buy it.  Totally unrelated I am sure, but I thought it was a funny coincidence.  The house is for sale for ?2.1 million.

If they were making a video for Better I'd like to see it shot by Mark Pellington, the way he directed The Best Of You for the Foo Fighters. The super 8 montage was fantastic. The beautiful shots mixed with the blood covered wolves and rattlesnakes striking the camera... Beauty and brutality. Wow.

the guy who directed november and estranged still works for axl, it wouldnt surprise me if he directed the videos...

after the comments Axl's made in the past about Iron Maiden I highly doubt that would happen ;D

I forget, i saw an interview where he was asked something about them and he wasn't exactly overly impressed with them....but it was along tiome ago

and he did say on Trunk that he prefers Priest better than Maiden. He only likes Maiden's first album (Bruce Dickinson wasn't even in the band back then).

But that doesn't mean he hates them.

Bruce Dickinson wrote a song about Axl called "Tattooed Millionaire", and even named the album that. I doubt Axl has forgotten that. : ok:

I'm not so sure about that. Considering how they've been on top of the Hammerstein gigs, Hilfiger Fight etc. and their coverage of the 2002 tour as well as RIR3, I think there's definitely a big interest in a new GN'R video on MTV's part. Hell, they even let them close the VMA's back in 2002! 

I think Bruce made the song to be about Vince.....

This GNR in England thing. Perhaps they are shooting something for the Metal Hammer Awards which are like the day after Download. GNR in Prague two days after Download so I can't see them staying in the UK for the Awards. Axl's up for the Icon award right, chances are he's won and they are shooting an acceptance bit or maybe the band are filming a performance clip for that show (I believe it goes out on TV about a month after the show).

Unless they are filming a performance shot for Top of the Pops. They had Velvet Revolver on before their album was out here so GNR wouldn't be too far fetched.

I wouldn't take it too seriously.  I remember the same kind of talk in 2002 when GN'R were supposedly stopping in China to shoot the video for Catcher In The Rye.

Yeah, years and years ago Dickenson made comments about how Axl asked Bruce if the song was written about him.? Bruce thought it was arrogant that Axl would even think TM was about him.?

I don't think Guns N' Roses are shooting a video right now. I think this will be done later in like August after the tour and then they take a break befor the U.S. tour.
