For Immediate Release

GUNS N' ROSES STORM NEW YORK

SOLD OUT SHOWS, GUEST STARS & FANATIC AUDIENCES

NEXT UP - EUROPEAN TOUR

They're back!!!

Guns N' Roses - whose shows at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom sold out
in less than 3 minutes - have reclaimed the throne that was always
theirs. From stellar reviews to audience adulation, Guns N' Roses' New
York shows proved that they are back in a big way.

Concert goers weren't let down as Axl Rose and band mates Tommy Stinson
(bass), Richard Fortus (guitar), Robin Finck (guitar), Chris Pitman
(keyboard), Dizzy Reed (keyboard), Brain (drums) and new guitarist Ron
"Bumblefoot" Thal (who has only been in the band for two weeks!) burned
through Guns N' Roses classics such as "Welcome to the Jungle,"
"Paradise City," "My Michelle," "Mr. Brownstone," "November Rain" and
"Sweet Child O' Mine." The final show at Hammerstein found the band
joined by one time Guns' guitarist Izzy Stradlin on "Think About You,"
"Patience" and "Night Train," which also included an enthusiastic Kid
Rock coming onstage to join the band.

Over the four nights, audiences were also treated to nearly half of the
band's upcoming new album, Chinese Democracy, with live performances of
"Chinese Democracy," "Better," "There was a Time," "Madagascar," "IRS"
and "The Blues."

The four shows, which took place on May 12, 14, 15 & 17th, were the talk
of New York City, with fans and famous faces such as Matthew Perry,
Mickey Rourke, Drea De Matteo, Lenny Kravitz, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Fred
Durst, Sebastian Bach, Ethan Hawke, Jay Z, Jimmy Fallon, Maxwell and
Sean Penn to name a few, paying homage to one of the greatest bands in
Rock n' Roll. Each night was a celebration on stage, which would then
continue off stage with parties at Sixes and Eights, Bungalow 8, Butter,
G Spa, The Marquee Lounge and The SoHo House.

The band ended their New York jaunt with a surprise acoustic performance
at The Plumm for actress Rosario Dawson's birthday party. The band's
scorching performance, which left the way beyond capacity crowd
screaming for more and gasping for air well into the wee hours of the
morning, had birthday girl Dawson commenting of Rose: "They've never
played all acoustic, this is history in the making, how much does this
fucking man rock?!"

The N.Y concerts were warm up shows for the European leg of the band's
forthcoming tour, which starts May 25th in Madrid at Juan Carlos Arena.

For the upcoming tour, Guns N' Roses are playing a mixture of headline
Festival appearances including Rock In Rio in Portugal, Download at the
UK's famed Castle Donington, Rock Am Ring in Germany, Gods Of Metal in
Italy, Novarock in Austria, Graspop in Belgium, Roskilde in Denmark, A
Heavy Day In The Park in Holland as well as their own headlining indoor
shows in Madrid, Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, Paris, Zurich, Stockholm,
Oslo and Helsinki, most of which have been instant sellouts.

But nothing beats the home turf of the US or New York City. W. Axl Rose
commented, "We've just finished our 4 shows in New York and had an
amazing time. New York has always been special and it feels great to be
doing this again particularly in front of so many friends. I am very
excited about Europe and getting back over here in September."

Choking, I think it is interesting to note that those six are apparently on the first album. From Axl's interviews, it did not sound like they had decided on the final tracklisting for either the first or second albums.

Best part is how they mention Guns has reclaimed the throne - its REALLY sad that since 92-93 nobody has picked up the torch.  I've always thought whenever Axl comes back and CD is FINALLY released we'd see the resurrection of rock - dare I say its sooooo close???  This is definitely guns year.

Rock will return, GN'R's timing is perfect. Music fans everywhere are starving for rock, look at VH1 this month. Everyone wants the 80's back but nobody has dilievered yet...

From CC on surreal life, to Rockstar's next reality TV show, to Bo on Idol even though he is a poser, to VH1's Supergroup reality show. All the signs of the second coming are here.

Bands like Art Brute... the list goes on forever.

notice that it is listed as There Was a Time.

though it couldve been to keep the release clean, i also have a feeling that this will be the actual title of the song and TWAT was just an acronym to refer to it as in the studio or just a shorter way to refer to it/write it down (like CITR, WTTJ).

It's an official press release.? It's safe to say that the songs listed will be on there.

As official as it is then Brain must be out.

If a new drummer was listed in the release, that's one thing. ?Not mentioning Brain - or any drummer for that matter - just seems like an innocent mistake. ?I just meant that, if they say - or even strongly imply - in the release that the tracks are from Chinese Democracy, I think it's a safe bet that they'll be on the CD.

Sheesh. ?

Personally, I just want to enjoy GnR's triumphant return without all the maddening lineup gossip and bickering. ?I've said it before, but it bears repeating...it's a great time to be a GnR fan. ? :peace:

I would say it is a good time to be a Guns N' Roses fan. A great time will be the day when their new album finally releases. This is a good time...but not great.

I really just can't believe all the positive press guns n' roses are getting this time around.  After 2002 i never thought they were going to ever be taking seriously.  I think a big part of it this time is that they all look relativily normal.  Buckethead gone.  Finck looks normal.  Axl looks (and sings) like axl.  They really just proved to the world there not fucking around.

:crying: quit whining.  We all know the band is called GNR and Slash and Duff have fuck all to do with it now.

Um I have a right to voice my opinion so i'll "whine" (since thats what u wanna call it, i call it voicing my displeasure at what Axl's doing) for how much i want when i want & how i want, if you dont like it ignore my posts :D

Could not agree more.  I love this new version of Gn'R, and have accepted them as "Gn'R", however, calling this band "lengendary" is a stretch.  Only Axl and the Gn'R name is rock legend.  The rest are not.

Don't want this to be the 1,687 thread on "is this Gn'R", however, I am not a fan of the propaganda Sanctuary is putting out.  What happened to "let the music do the talking"?  :-\  ::)

I was really hoping that most of those songs weren't on the album, not cos i don't like them - just that we've waited all this time and heard some live stuff and some leaks, and now it turns out that stuff was half of the album! I was kinda hoping that only a couple of those tracks were on CD and that we'd have 10 or so brand new ones to look forward to.

I just hope that the songs we've already heard sound loads better on the CD!

The only one of those songs I don't think is strong enough for the album is 'IRS'. It's not bad but nothing special in my opinion, a little repetitive. Maybe the album version will be a little different. I say replace it with Catcher though  : ok:

Ohh i guess ur just so close with Jigga to know this for a fact.

I know no black person, especially a rapper & a rap fan, would like any other style of music. I mean coz Axl never liked or promoted or wanted N.W.A. on the tours or anything like that.

There you have it people, theres the golden rules for life, no liking hip hop if u like Guns N Roses or rock n roll & vice versa  ::) :P :-*

unless u really know him then u can't answer than that, but i've seen plenty of Jay-z interviews were they ask him what music he into, who he is feeling, fav artist of all time etc. he's never mentioned any rock bands in any of them, not GnR or linkin park who he collab with.

I guess the 13 tracks are pretty official at this point.

this is certainly interesting but it could be just another way of saying they are new songs, not that they will necessarily feature on the new album because the band and everyone around it have always been very secrative about chinese democracy in the past. still a myth. 8)

No offense, but that is as official as your going to get-certainly not a myth. : ok: I am kinda disappointed that those tracks are definitely on the first record. I was hoping a few would be put on the second so we would get more "unheard" stuff. ps Obviously I will take what I can get at this point. :hihi:

When Jay-Z did his MTV Diary in promotion for his Dynasty album (in 2000), he was seen listening to rock music and talked about how much he likes it.  Hes stated that he likes John Mayer (http://www.vh1.com/news/articles/1484845/20040205/mayer_john.jhtml?headlines=true) (in early 2004, before running Def Jam).  You just dont know what youre talking about.

No offense, but that is as official as your going to get-certainly not a myth. : ok: I am kinda disappointed that those tracks are definitely on the first record. I was hoping a few would be put on the second so we would get more "unheard" stuff. ps Obviously I will take what I can get at this point. :hihi:

they aren't "definately on the first record" at all (although i wouldn't mind that), because axl has said that they are still picking out songs for it and he could change his mind and most likely will a hundred times from now and till release date.

A quote from ur link:

This thread is about the news release.  Not about J-Z.  Take it to pm's if you want to argue about it some more.

dont cha love it when people like Mr Rage say something doesnt smell like shit, then Booker proceeds to grab them by the head & rub there faces in it to prove it smells like shit.
