Title: Did everyone forget how ridiculous 2002 MSG was?
Post by: ShotgunBlues1978 on May 22, 2006, 04:38:04 AM
From the 2006, May 15th show, I can tell you GnR still has it.

But the best GnR show I've seen to date is the 2002 show.  Axl looked like the Predator and their lead guitarist stilll apppaered like, well, the sci-fi too, Buckethead.  But that was the most amazing GnR show I've seen yet.   2002 GnR MSG was the best GnR show yet until I see otherwise  : ok:

I was at the Toronto Canada gig in 2002 and I thought that was the best Axl ever sounded. But after listening to the 2006 bootlegs I have to say,Axl sounds way fucking better than he did back then. And now the band is way tighter as well.

MSG and Chicago were the best shows I had seen from gnr up tell Hammerstien. I think the 14th and 17th were the best shows ever put on by gnr. The 14th was the most amazing thing I have ever been a part of! I had total strangers hugging me and everything! This is one trip that I am never, never going to top!
Thank you GNR!

I agree 100%.  I was at the Hammerstein shows and MSG in 02 and there is simply no comparison.  MSG 02 was awesome, but very different from these past few shows.  Its tough to compare the two really b/c the venues were just sooo different.

I was with a friend for the 17th show who was also at the 2002 MSG and he said he thought this line-up and the show we were at in particular was way better than the 2002 MSG show; and he thought that show was awesome
