Post by: WAxlRose on May 20, 2006, 12:31:51 AM
Are the rumors pretty much dead about a song on the DaVinci code soundtrack or is is still possible?

It's being ridiculed by most movie critics.  Tom Hanks said on Letterman something to the effect, that, sometimes it works in this industry, sometimes it doesn't!!

Saw it tonight - definitely better than the bad press it has been receiving.

Went to see the opening night last night.

Firstly there is no Guns n Roses on there at all not even during the closing credits.  :-[

Secondly, it is a very good movie, except they have changed quite a few bits in the film that were in the book. I alwasy find this dissapointing. I know that movies are just based on the novels. But towards the end of the movie there were quite a few scenes that were very different to the book i.e at Roslyn Church it did nor run at all with the script of the book.

you guys should be ashamed for reading junk literature like that.

I'm glad GNR didnt make a sountrack for that movie. that'd be lame, using the publicity of something as trashy as da vinci code

Both the book and the movie were trashed by most critics and many readers.

Im glad GnR didnt release a song for another bad movie.

Bad movie? Not at all, I really enjoyed it. Can't quite understand why people are trashing it so much, ah well, different strokes for different folks I suppose.

But in response to the question; no there wasn't any GN'R song in the film.

Literature is great it helps people see what is most likely true.. when Jesus Christ walked the earth, he got himself a piece of that Mary Magdalen pie...

no harm in that :peace:

WTF?  Why on earth should someone be ashamed for reading it?  It's a damn good read.

Sounds like someone has a hidden agenda.

I've not seen the film yet, but I read the book. I thought it was a poorly written bag of shite. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fundamentalist christian -I love different takes on religious texts. (Did you know there's strong evidence to suggest that Jesus is buried in Kashmir? You can see his tomb. The Irony being that the people who would most like to see it can't believe it's him, because then it fucks with their beliefs.) But those theories have been done to death, I already knew the books take on the "Holy Grail" I spent 6 hours reading a badly written book for then to say at the end: "this is whet we think" what a fuckin' anticlimax. I will see the film though. I love audrey tatou. er also, i like guns n roses?

I hate all the instant philosophers, and all the fucks that feel like they are the first ones to figure it out, after reading only one crappy book.
I've read 50 books on the subject, that most of the people didnt hear about, and now all of the sudden, every kid has an oppinion, and they go convincing me into believing.

I agree with you on a larger scale, even.  People see something like this, and suddenly they act like they are enlightened.  It's just the cool thing to do.

The same is true with the Ray Charles movie and the Johnny Cash movie; they were both marketed in a way that made it cool to suddenly be a huge fan of Ray or Johnny.  Like suddenly now everyone is an expert on the subject just because they saw a movie.

There are plenty of things that follow this trend.  :)

However, I realize this is an off topic discussion.  :(

So to all those hundreds of people whose friends' cousin's stepfather cleans toilets for the director of the Da Vinci code and said GnR would be on it, looks like someone was taking the piss.

If you want to talk about the movie, do it in the jungle. And since GNR is not on the soundtrack, I lock this now.
