Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Wed was the only day i didnt have a ticket for, thats when my money ran out. But i couldnt just not go at all, atleast i should dress up and hang out infront, maybe i'll get a really good deal from a scalper.

I got there around 9:00 and nobody was selling, there were dozens of people looking to buy tix, so i was screwed. I decided to go to the back and check out the band members entering. so i go there and there were a few cool people who were testing me on GNR trivia, and then I see to my far left...

Bumblefoot, I just walked right over to him and started talking, he rembered my because a few days ago I myspaced him and also posted a comment on his wall, he even rembered my name!!! Bumblefoot is the nicest guy ever, and i've never heard a more Brooklyn accent than from him, and i asked him some questions

1)How did you come up with that name?

He said he was looking up disieses with his wife and came across bumblefoot and couldnt believe how stupid that name is, so thats what he named his band "biggest mistake of my life" he joked

2) any connection with the name Buckethead?

Nope

3) there are rumors that you are only in this band temporarly for this tour is that true?

We'll see, it all depends what happens

4) Whats Axl's deal, really?

He's the nicest, most down to earth guy in the world

then i asked if its at all possible he could just let me inside, i told him how i spent all my money on the first 3 shows and didnt have anyleft for tonight's, i'm in college its hard to get that much money.

He came back in about 2 minutes with a ticket and said enjoy, and i flipped out and gave him a huge hug

BUMBLEFOOT FUCKIN RULES!!!!!

I got in, got a great spot and and this was the best show af all 4 nights

IZZY STRADLIN came on stage and they played think about you!!!, he was there for patience an nightrain too, during the concert Axl joked "hmm maybe i should put out an album"

After the show which didnt end till 2 am so i missed the last train to jersey, i went to the back again

Izzy already left, Bumblefoot came out and started talking too EVERYBODY!! for like 2 hours he was signingevrything taking tons of pics and just talking, than Sebastian bach came out evrybody cheered and he pointed at me with his light saber? and said "your a crazy motherfucker"

Axl came out later with his light saber and he shook all of our hands and left, that was really cool, i heard he never does that

I also got Brains drum tix

Best show ever, every night just got better and better

I can't believe Ron did that for you - that is SO sweet.  I saw him outside last night too, & he was as cool as ever.  What a fucking nice guy!   :peace:

this might be a dumb question but is bumblefoot going to be a committed member for the long haul, or is he going to be used as a touring guitarist?

personally i hope hes a committed member, everyone has the best things to say about him, and gnr could use someone like that in their band.

I don't think it's been decided yet...

Ron has been this way throughout his whole career. I was expecting these kind of gestures from him when they brought him in last week. That?s why I expected him being liked by many, very v?ry quick. He treats his fans like they are the stars and he doesn?t care whether they just found out about him recently, or have been supporting him since the early nineties.

Last time I saw him solo with the rest of Bumblefoot, he came back on the stage (after the show), sat down and signed everything every single person in the venue threw at him. He always gives everything, whether he plays for five persons in somebody?s living room or in front of a huge crowd.

Amazing story, amazing guy.  As far as I'm concerned, just because he hooked you up like that, Bumblefoot could play a fart box on stage and I would still support him.  I hope he's a GNR lifer.

i don' t know but right now i feel so proud that a gnr fun get this kind of treatment. i'm loving it! :love: that's unforgettabe!i know the feeling coz i got to meet my second fav band twice and party with them (Stratovarius) and i can't imagine how it must be with the band of your life  :crying: awesome!

I spoke to Bumblefoot a few times following Monday's concert, and I must agree, he is a very cool guy.  I found him down to earth and sympathetic.  He comes across as a wonderful person. 

I am so glad that he is right now touring with Gn'R and hopefully he will soon become a full fledged member of the band!

That's a great story.  See kids, it never hurts to ask.  Worst he could've said was, no.  Instead you got to witness a bit of GNR history.  Congrats, and a real solid move by Ron Thal.

bumblefoot is just an amazing people person... he was packing up the equipment last night acting like the help(they got me working) :rofl:, he was in his hyundai being silly.. Someone asked him for a ride back to jersey :hihi: The guy is just like us, connects with the fans, he doesn't act like he is someone special.. he's just out there enjoying himself, having a good time..

When he saw me last night he was like hey it's you, then gave him a big hug and he signed my ticket then said see you at L&B (local pizza place in brooklyn) he answered some of my questions... Told me some french company made his foot guitar.. I mentioned how I thought it was uncool how they atacked him because he mentioned about new gnr on his site back then..

Fucking guy is aces man, kind of dude you could hang with..

That is pretty awesome!  Very cool to hear that Bumblefoot is so cool.  Before the first show, one of the techs was telling me the new guitarist was not liked by the band at all, and I think it's clear he was full o' shit!

My word for last night was "Heartwarming"! And this just makes it MORE so!

Fuck I wish I'd been there SOOO much!!! I am so jealous of all of youse guys who got to go!!!

Does anyone have pictures from after the show weds? I am really looking for Axl shaking fans hands while holding his light sabre. I was there and was hoping to find a picture with me and axl in the same shot.
