I'm a segment producer for G4TV's Attack of the Show.

We're looking for the biggest GNR Super Fan in the New York City area. Specifically, I am looking for someone who is a huge fan, has a GNR Shrine, and just never got over GNR. Under 30 and male is preferable.

We're looking to do a piece on a day in the life of a GNR Super Fan. Getting ready before the concert, visiting the GNR Shrine they have in their house etc. It's going to be total fun and well it's free.

We're in no way trying to make fun of GNR or their fans. In fact we're celebrating them and doing this in partnership with GNR.

Honestly, I didn't mean to offend anyone with the comment but to be a GNR fan today you have to be hardcore and that's all I meant. You don't really find that many casual GNR fans anymore.

That's ridiculous Sean. ?You don't consistently sell albums during a decade of inactivity, enjoy constant radio play, and sell out your first concerts in years without casual fans. ?GNR is still huge. ?If they weren't, why would you guys be doing a show on them in the first place? ?You wouldn't. ?You're doing a show because the band's name is still a major draw and you want the guaranteed ratings that come with that. ?I wasn't offended by anything you said, but let's be realistic.

Well, if you did this earlier and you were searching worldwide, I'd nominate myself, just for the chance to see the first show.

G4 is pretty much a video game channel. Thats half the reason I love it, but I have to wonder as to why AOTS would be covering the GnR show when this week is E3. Wouldnt your entire crew and staff be in LA covering this event. For those who dont know what E3 is its the biggest video game convention in the world open only to those in the press.

By the way Morgan Webb is hot and so is the chick on Attack of the Show. I'd eat her peanutes.  :beer:

If you want someone from Ohio count me in, you should cover my video game event I hold every year. Turkey Bowl its a Madden football tournament held over Thanksgiving weekend in a very smalltown in Ohio. Last year we had 25 enteries. Hell I'd do anything to have the chance to get tickets, and free ride to the NYC show. You wanna wax my back on live TV, hell I'd do the bikini wax. I'd dress up like Mario and try to save the princess from some crackhead in NYC.

G4TV is not just a video game channel anymore, they're definitely trying to appeal to a specific demographic.  For example, they run reruns of the Man Show now.

And yes, props to both Morgan Webb and Adam Sessler who run one of three shows worth watching that aren't on HBO.   : ok:

Wouldn't it be better if you flew a fan all the way from Indiana (you know Axl's home state)? Hee hee. I've been a "fan" (some say obsessed) since I was 14...I owe Axl with changing my life and ultimately obtaining an undergraduate degree. Much better angle than someone from NYC right?  :P

Sorry, but anyone openly obsessed with a band and shown on TV will be making fools of themselves.  I've never seen a fan show where the people don't look like fools.  A pair of tickets just isn't worth it but that's me.

G4 USED to be a video game only? (pretty much) channel and it's main competitor was Tech TV.? G4 bought Tech TV and merged the two into one network.

They've recently branched out into more of a Male 18-34 TV channel.? If you have SpikeTV, it's like that, sorta, but with more of a tech, games, and gadgets focus.

It is a cable channel.

On meeting the band....I wouldn't be too sure on that.  I've seen other "Superfan" profiles and it wouldn't shock me to see (especially given Sean has said they're working in conjunction with GNR) that happen.  It also wouldn't shock me if it didnt.  In any case, he won't say one way or the other, I suspect.  On the profiles, WHEN stuff like that happens, it seems to be done as a surprise for the fan, so.....

i remember watchin TECH TV a lot when i was in the us, it was fun :)

alright I'll play. Xbox 360 sucks compared to the PS3 because why? Is it because it costs half as much, and easily matches graphic wise, its controller has forcefeedback, its core system isn't lacking in features, its controller isn't a wannabe Nintendo Wii (THE PS3 controller is the Nintendo Wii's retarded cousin), it will also have GTA and better exclusives, and has innovative features with a vastly superior online model? The PS3 is the biggest "Me Too" system in gaming history.

Then they go on to give it a 3/4. Its showing was horrible compared to Nintendo and Microsofts. You can literally get a 360 and a Nintendo Wii for the same price as a PS3 which offers nothing (compared to the 360 and the Wii) other than Blu Ray and a couple exclusives. G4 was ass lickers last night. Other then maybe that balding fruit who works with that amazon who actually seems to play video games. They are talking out of their ass and are more teleprompter reading monkeys then anchorpeople.

Now video gaming systems are discussed in the GN'R section?

Don't know how Gn'R driven it'll be. Sounds more like a party atmosphere around the GnR shows.
Also, I'll probably have to make an ass of myself. The pre-party sounds like it'll be part of it, too.

I got an email from the producers saying they love to have me on...but I doubt Ill make it because they are doing the shoot Monday and I have tickets for Wednesday...so ya Ill call tommorow anyway and find out...

Maybe they are covering their tracks, because mine is asking me if I'm still 100% up for doing it.
So if someone bails, they still have a couple of back-ups I would guess.

I'll be there on Sunday and Monday, so it is do-able for me. I am gonna listen to the details before committing though.
Sounds like it could be really fun though.

See something just seems to fishy with AOTS, this is E3 week the biggest week in video games, and they are going to send a crew to NY????

I talked to the guy on the phone Tuesday, then got an email tonight...saying tomorrow to call to discuss all the details.
So nothing's confirmed yet...but it looks like they probably just picked a few they liked and will get to the heart of it tomorrow.

I told the guy about the pre-party, and I think he's bringing the camera crew there to do some interviews.
Also, this included getting me into Axl-gear and putting a few beers in me.

I think one of the HTGTH members was asked to be on the show. If I remember right his name was Dizzy?? Is this worth catching on the replay later on tonight??

I think they asked Steven but he said No because they asked him to try and sing like Axl and he didnt want to or something like that. I met Steven at the NY show on friday he was really nice and cool to talk to.

I'm just a fan. Did it for fun. Never thought I'd be able to sound like a rockstar. Gotta love the girls bashing me in line!

I was waiting in line when they did that and just wanted to expose the fact that the people doing that show are major fucking phonies. I was standing directly behind the asian girl and her friend that the guy sang "Don't Cry" to. There was some guy walking with them who seemed to be an actor or something, and they had him go over to the line like he was a fan waiting to get into the show. Then they put the camera on him as if they had just randomly chosen him out of the line and asked a question, and he responded with a long speech about coming up from Connecticut that had obviously been memorized beforehand. Everyone around there was talking shit about how staged that was. Completely ridiculous.....

I don't think that show was staged.
They really did just randomly pick people, then when he said something, the producer guy goes, "Say that again" or "stand over here and do this"
But I don't think he planted people. I was with them all day.

I'm sure some other shows did that.

i did a 5-minute interview for this show on Monday... talked about my rfriendship with Dizzy Reed and whatnot... would be cool to see it actually on cable.
