A friend of mine heard last night on 105.3 newfm, that Guns N' Roses are coming out here in late this year. I flipped when he told me. Has anyone heard a rumour of GN'R hittin Australia anytime soon?

I saw gnr back in 1993 here...and i've been looking at the 2002/2006 tours with envious eyes ever since!

I'm in Sydney so If they do come to OZ I'll be laughing. I would consider a trip to japan if they didn't come here. Although I would be a little bit tentative about handing over the cash after spending a shit load travelling to Portugal for RIR4 and having them pull out on me !

Doubt they'll come here to be honest but I'd love it. I think they'd suit the Big Day Out really. Often we have huge acts that are highly anticpated Metallica, The Stooges, The White Stripes and it would be fitting to include Guns if they come here. And also that way they'd be able to get to every city.

I used to work customer support for an online casino and some shifts itd get dead slow for hours at a time. Id lurk here a lot just watching the threads and reading the goss. Now I can sit on the internet in the comfort of my own home and not get paid $30 an hour to do it   :(

I also heard on Triple M last week that they have had word from promotors that something is coming.

However if they were to come here, I would assume it would be after some Japanese/Asia dates.

Itll probably be a bit closer to Sydney this time as well seeing as we now have Telstra Stadium.

I personally hope they play Aussie Stadium since its easier for me to get to.

Itll be huge if they come!

I'm not so sure Guns could fill the stadiums, I could be wrong.

My guess would be the Sydney Superdome or Entertainment Centre.

I think I'm more surprised that Triple M even reports stuff like that, rather than the news itself...

Maybe it was a Pepsi promo in QLD, because here in Sydney it was most definitely a Coca-Cola competition. I think I still have some old stickers from it lying around somewhere. Their Eastern Creek gig in 1993 was sponsored by Coke too.

I remember it being all over the news & i know someone who was there I can explain in more detail some tiome if ppl are interested but i just wanted to see if other aussies particulary melbourne fans if they remembered

hey guys, im an aussie to, all the way down in hobart, never seen Gn'R live but if they come to australia i'll find a way of going there, its my dream to see them live, never have before :(

I went to that concert and to me it was the coolest thing ever. I do remember a bunch of stuff on the news the next day - like girls saying they were forced to urinate while peeople watched due to lack of facilities, and like people complaining about bottles of water at insane prices. I cant speak about the toilet issue - but i rememebr at the time thinking like - duh - of course prices are gunna be maxed - its no different to going to the royal melboure show or some other public event - u dont expect cheap food.

I also rememebr the drama with the bus system to take people from the venue back to the city. Me and my mate waited for hours...but hell that just added to the atmosphere in a way.....

Nothing good to report I'm afraid. Frontier Touring would most likely bring them here and I emailed them, they said there are no plans to bring them here. It's worth while noting that quite some time before VR was announced, they were quite forthcoming with their response and openly admitted that I should keep checking back any time now. And before that they hinted that there were plans. So when they say nothing is planned, I believe it.

i don't think they've actually planned anything much beyond europe at this point.  they still need to figure out the album release logistics it seems to me.

This is my first post on the board, I'm from Sydney and was about 8 when GNR came to Aus in 1993...I didn't get to see the show.

I was vaguely aware of their existance due to the enormity of Teminator 2...me and my brother loved you could be mine when we were little and used to rock out to it when it came on video hits or some crap like that :)

An Australian GNR tour is exactly what this country needs at the moment. They need to show all these "huge bands" like nickelback how the big boys do it.

Personally I think a reunion tour would break box office/crowd records and be great but realistically I dont see it happening. The current lineup is great and more importantly...tight.

Everyone around the world now has the GNR hunger as they are actually playing shows again, so lap it up you lucky Euro pricks !!!     ;D

Hey guy's been checking this site daily for the past two years or there abouts and never bothered registering. Just find it funny reading about topics some people come up with. Anyway good to see alot of younger fans remembering the Eastern Creek and Calder shows back in 93.
I'm a touch older and actually saw them on their first tour here in 88 in Melbourne and then in 93 at Calder.
I have no doubt Guns will once again tour here maybe not this year but hopefully within the next 2 years. Rock On

GNR to headline BDO 07!!

Man...i almost died today of GNR fanboy hope - i was driving along the road and went past one of those railway overpass  thingies where they put up all the band billboard poster thingies.

Anyway - what do i see out the corner of my eye - but a Big fucking GNR logo - the one with the two guns pointing either side. I nearly crashed the car - and i'm all like "YES ITS HAPPENING" - then i soon realised that it was just an add for the local GNR coverband's next gig. I guess i should have realised straight away cos its not the new logo - but you know we live in hope!!

(Incidently the band i'm talking about kick some serious ass - so i'd recomment going to anyone in melb!)

Is that "November Rain ; The Guns N Roses show"? Cos i saw them once in sydney bout 5 years ago and they were pretty cool, I just dont see why that even try to dress like the band.

they are full on wicked - the guy who plays slash is my guitar teacher and he really makes and effort to render the parts note for note like the cd...very cool....

They also do the dress up thing, which i agree is a bit wacky, but then it seems to be the standard thing in tribute bands.

I was walking to the 'G for the Socceroos game last thursday night, walked under the train bridge on punt rd and there was that massive poster! The logo was so huge I thought it had to be! Nearly fell on to the road but it was an ad for that cover band as you say.

Was pretty damned funny. Oh well I get to see 'em in a bit over a week anyway.

Unfortunately September is too soon financially for me. I'm sure they will be back for a 2nd leg next year to the UK so I'm more likely to head there then.

Anyway, sorry to ask what is probably the most retarded newbie question, but can I ask how ya know of this Mysteron? Everyone seems to take it as an almost confirmation - just wondering what the connection with the band is if any?

I would much prefer to see them in a smaller venue than another big stadium gig like the Eastern Creek & Calder Park were played.
They seem to suit the smaller venues better now days and it is a bit more up close and personal for the audience aswell. Hammerstein was the perfect venue for them so Rod Laver in Melbourne would be awesome...

Ok Great News for ua Aussies.
Just recieved an email from Richard. He said the Guns will most likey be Here B4 the end of the year. I sent him the email in feb or march I think and got a reply on the 19th of june. But because I live in a remote part of Australia I dont have much access to the internet. I prob wont be back for a while but when I am I will post the email.

Also I am going to america in December/January to see guns but hopefully they will be here b4 hand.

What do you guys recon the chances of them doin toronto or someware i can go to from there before the years out?

If Gn'R play any dates in Canada before the end of this year, I think Toronto is the most definate place they would in fact play here.

There's only so many big cities that bands will play here in Canada, with Toronto, Montreal, London, and Ottawa usually being them : ok:

London (2002 gig sold out, university town population 200,000, arena held about 10,000).
Toronto (about 15,000-16,000 at the show in 2002)
Ottawa
Montreal (probably not due to past riot)
Quebec City (good alternative?)
Halifax (if they want to do an east-coast show)

I'd so love to see GNR tour around here. And if there's a US tour, a Toronto show is almost a given considered it was one of their better-selling shows in 2002 and Axl seems to like it there.

So yeah, if you're visiting from .au there's a chance to see them if they tour.

Richard emailed me once again replying to an email I sent him in april. I sent him 2. This new one says they are planning the U.S tour atm and after that will be South America and he also said " We will HOPEFULLY be in Australia by the end of the year".

Yeah thinking the same thing - looking a little busy on both ends - Aus with the endless amount of rock and metal acts touring this year, and Gunners with the US tour up until December.

Hope they still come though!

I guess it means a World Tour next year....
