Once upon a time, there were these albums, called Appetite for Destruction, Lies, UYI 1&2, and there were like these really cool songs on them. ?And this guy Slash had a lot to do with the amazing guitar solos on them, so I do want him back ?:hihi:

actually, i find that half of the illusion albums arent even that good. and since i like the new stuff more (and axls contributions to UYI) that leads me to beleive that i dont need slash in the band to enjoy the music.

I think the difference to say is: I don't ?want a reunion *YET*, I want VR and the new GnR, but after a few more years then a reunion would be nice as a farewell.

na, i say let them just do their own things from now on. i actually dont even see axl touring and recording for more than 10 years.

i dont see gnr becoming the next rolling stones, being wheelchaired to the stage.

i see them recording for a long time. Axl had a damn good fucking time when we were there and so did the rest of the band. Axl loves doing this they will be bigger then the stones in a few years and put out another CD. Axl is still younf guys hes got another good 20+ years.

To be honest, all this talk about the guys not being able to play slash's leads on guitar...I doubt slash could play them now.

I've never even heard of Fall Out Boy. That just tells you how "big" they are.

People like you make me sick.  You talk about Slash being dead like it would be some afterthought.  If it wasn't for him Axl wouldn't be where he is today and vice versa.  And you're a hypocrite to boot.  As someone has already pointed out, Axl's been partying pretty hard as of late.  And to put out another CD you have to put out one first, buddy.  Slash has put out several CDs since he left GN'R.  How many has Axl put out?  Oh, and since when do the Stones have to be wheelchaired anywhere?  They're still one of the best live bands in the world, and their last studio album was met with great reviews.  You think it would be the same if Mick was touring with a bunch of random dudes?  Hell no...Mick and Keith went through plenty of turmoil, but in the end they realized how much they neede each other to do what they do best.

funny idea, reunion would be amazing, the roof would have literally came off hammerstein if the old band played, everyone would have known all the members... The reception izzy got was clearly the biggest , imagine slash with axl... Just a top hat placed on an amp the house would come down..

Hate to break it to ya buddy, but Finck isn't trying to replace Steve Adler.  If there were to be a reunion, chances are Steve wouldn't even be involved.  If Slash were to come back you'd forget the name Finck in 3 seconds.

If Axl is such a genius why has he not released anything for 13 years and still riding on the coat tales of a band that really stopped exisiting around 1996.

Guns was about danger, sick bluesy rock and roll, the guys in the band all ruled (except Dizzy of course). We have none of that now. We have Robin (am I a goth or a hippie - what should I look like Axl?) , Richard (do I look like Izzy enough for you Axl?) Brain (makes Sorum seem like John Bonham), Pitman (Why?!!), Dizzy (Yes Axl Sir!), Tommy (ok hes at least got some credibilty, but hes not Duff), Bumblefoot (seems ok, whats with the name though mate? Id stick with Ron!)

Even though Slash's hair and top hop is pretty well known, he was hardly ever "the face" of GNR, that's always been Axl. But I totally agree that at one time he was "the sound". Also, I still think Robin tears the NR solo the fuck up!

I meant face of gnr as the guitarist... It was a duo axl n slash, the two best known guys..

I was talking to people after NR the 17th and this was the topic how it sounded off..

I'm not knocking him as a player I just don't think he's ever been good at that nr double solo.. I even listened to the plum show, he sounds off..

I'm guessing he was off at the Plum show because he's always played it on a les paul and there he was playing it on a semi-hollow body. But I really thought that he was playing the solo alot better at the Hammerstein gigs then he was back in 02.

Awesome post, dude.  Except I disagree with the part about Brain.  I would rather have Matt in the band, but Brain is an excellent drummer.  He was very good at the Hammerstein show I was at.

he was definetly better this time around then in 02, I think he improved big time from then....  I think bfoot played the outro very well..

I've listened to most of the bootlegs from the last 3 shows I wasn't at and you're right Bumblefoot did play the outro well. I was always annoyed by Bucketheads version. It seemed to me that he was holding the main notes off key and I wasn't sure if he was doing it on purpose or not.
