get over yourself! some advice i would give though is to not trample people in a mad rush to get to the stage-matter of public safety and courtesy. Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: Lara on May 14, 2006, 02:32:23 PM Advice for those of us who are NOT going to the concert tonight:
Please if you are not posting any live updates, try not to post too much, because the system will crash. I was here on the 12th and we were like 700-800 people in the forum, it was very difficult. Have fun everybody! : ok: Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: GnrAxl4life on May 14, 2006, 02:33:07 PM Yea the fans didnt drown him out the band did for some songs.

I was here on the 12th and we were like 700-800 people in the forum, it was very difficult. Have fun everybody! : ok: I don?t think it is going to be that busy tonight Lara. No worries. On the 12th it was the FIRST show, so that added tension plus, it was a Friday, so people could have a good sleep afterwards. Now we?re talking about the second show and it?s on a Sunday. I think it will still be very busy, but probably not as crazy as the 12th! : ok: Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: misterbrownstone on May 14, 2006, 02:36:10 PM i'm a fan of the WEILAND SUCKS! Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: CAFC Nick on May 14, 2006, 02:50:01 PM If I was going to the New York dates I wouldn't be told by some jackass on this forum not to sing along.
I would not sacrifice my night for some idiot who wants to hear an audio off the net. Just my two pence. Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: Jamie on May 14, 2006, 02:58:55 PM Don't worry about it man you'll still hear the band if people are singing! As was said before you probably won't even hear yourself sing never mind anyone else.
I hope everyone headin out to the next few shows will have fun. And, I can't stop anyone, but chanting Weiland sucks would just be shitty, if anyone here heard about someone chanting Axl sucks at a VR concert they would be bounding down on him calling him an asshole and a prick and all sorts of other stuff. You're going there to enjoy a GnR concert not a Scott Weiland bashing festival. People go to concerts to have a good time and sing along to the songs. Besides, you'll still be able to hear Axl above everyone elses singing. I spent loads of cash on my ticket, that's right 1 fucking ticket cuase it is in the middle of the week and no one can go with me, yet this ass wants everyone to be silent so he can enjoy the show.... do us a faovr rip your ticket and stay home and enjoy the Tokoyo DVD's.... Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: DMJ on May 14, 2006, 05:14:39 PM looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
u pet, u wont fucking hear nothing, espicially in gnr sucky sound systems all u will hear is noise till u get used to it then ull hear some vocals. if u want quality watch a pro shot dvd ive been to a few shows that were really good quality, when i saw gnr in 93 they had the worse sound. Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: john b! on May 14, 2006, 05:32:02 PM About the singing on the concert, besides the music, the most beautiful thing you can hear is the people singing along to any song... I'm sure Axl loves to hear people loud, he has said it before.
If the soundboard boot comes out you'll "see" it's fun to hear the crowd too. :peace: Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: TOPGUNner on May 14, 2006, 05:32:21 PM Please dont sing along.? Furthermore, first Guns show in 3 years and you want people not to sing?! Sounds more like you're looking for a good bootleg recording of the show. I'm going tonight again to Hammerstein, and I hope whoever you are I sit next to you cuz I'm gonna sing loud as a motherfucker tonight just for you baby!!! Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: jarmo on May 14, 2006, 05:49:50 PM No singing No drinking No smoking No fists in the air No devil horns No mobile phones No crowd surfing No moshing No stage diving have a good night! You forgot, in bed by 11PM! ;) People will sing at shows, and it's not like this is some quiet acoustic show where your singing might be easy to make out.... Sing, have a good time, don't be an asshole and watch out for the people around you. : ok: /jarmo Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: Butch Français on May 14, 2006, 05:52:57 PM it's a rock concert! of course people are gonna sing along.
still yeah, it's annoying on the bootlegs :hihi: but believe me, you will hear Axl better than the 2000 drunk people singing along! ;) Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: dave-gnfnr2k on May 14, 2006, 06:26:04 PM have you ever even been to a concert? you cant hear yourself let alone the people next to you. everyone is going to do what they want. why not actually get off your high horse and have some fun with everyone else. you can hear them i could barely hear axl at all at the first show i was really pissed Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: PhillyRiot on May 14, 2006, 06:35:04 PM I thought Axl's volume went up as the evening progressed, but the crowd was so loud it was hard to hear at times. But he was amazing, he is a great performer.

"hey. hey can i get your attention please, yeah, that's the right, the 500 or so lot of you down here on the moshpit here alongside me, yeah you guys right here, could you lot of drunken, rowdy, overexcited, overenthusiastic, adrenaline fuelled, blinded, violent, aggressive GUNS AND ROSES fans kindly shut the fuck up and stop singing along and screaming so i can listen to my bootleg at home without all your voices in it? yeah thats right, fucking hell you alot, you'd think you were out to have fun at a rock concert or something like that...yeah..HAH" and here's my advice to you. "run. fast." Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: fif on May 14, 2006, 08:03:40 PM If I had one complaint from Friday night it is with some members of the crowd. If you were there you know the ones I'm talking about. The ones who stood there with their arms crossed with not so much as a headbob during the entire show. I really thought they took away from the atmosphere. Maybe that's the way you like to enjoy the concert and that's fine. However, I suspect, as is likely the case, these were "Greatest Hits" fans and thought they'd go see a band who they enjoy 2 or 3 songs by. I was getting very annoyed with these people as the concert wore on and they continued to stand there right in the middle of the floor. Next time you go to a concert learn the band's material. That was the one thing that disappointed me Friday.

That was the one thing that disappointed me Friday. Oh yeah man, you're always gonna get people like that at shows. It does such that people like that are out there on the floor when there are probably hardcore fans up in the rafters or whatever who have to make do with what they have. I dunno if it's just because these people don't know all the songs, or if they're tired, or if they're too drunk or high to move, or if they're too cool to be seen dancing or whatever, or if they have some sort of physical disability..ok that doesnt answer for much, but I do see these people all the time at concerts and it does suck Title: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: BLS-Pride on May 14, 2006, 08:11:52 PM Or some people just do not like to sing a long or move a lot and like to watch and listen. Just because they arent acting like 12 year old girls doesn't make them less fan than we are.

Just because they arent acting like 12 year old girls doesn't make them less fan than we are. Yeah okay that's probably a much more reasonable explanation, but I never understood how people like this just don't get anything from the atmosphere, or don't get excited. I don't exactly go jumping around people or screaming my lungs out but I headbang a bit at least just because I can't help it..i dunno...it's a concert..don't people get excited by the feeling..anyway i dunno. each to their own i guessTitle: Re: Advice to Fans Going to New York Shows Post by: Scree on May 15, 2006, 05:45:33 AM Scott Weiland Bashing Festival :o whens that then ?? Ticket Master has that one TBA..
