Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I'm just as bad as the next fan at times....with my Robin comments...but why is it that we must always find something to bitch about?

these should be some of the most exciting times we've had in a long time, but now there is all kindsa hate going out to Bumblefoot and his appearance, guitars, style....etc, etc....why can't we all get a long?

I mean people freak out cuz Buckethead is in and he has a bucket on his head and a mask and everyone wants him to look normal, so we get an average looking dude and people freak out cuz he has a foot guitar.....who the fuck cares? really... so what his guitar is a foot, lots of guitarists have weird shaped instruments...not a biggy IMO, Gene Simmons has a battleaxe for fuck sakes and Dimebag Darryll had one made out our corregated metal and there are other's I'm sure that have different shapes but I can't think of any right now. but what the hell it's like we can't be satisfied we always want more.

what would you do if your boss or parents or teachers or sposes or whoever bitched cuz you took a weekend off, then when you came in on monday they bitched cuz you wore improper clothing then when you changed your appearance they bitched cuz you didn't polish your shoes, then you polish them and they say that your deodorant is too strong....etc etc. like what the hell, ya see what i mean?

Fact of the matter is

a - Axl is back on the road, with a band
b - 1/3 of the material they played was from CD
c - from all reviews, they rocked
d - they're gonna play more shows
e - it looks like the album is finally due
f - Axl replaced buckethead with a competant player like most people wanted

....what more could we ask for? I know a reunion...but lets face it folks....it ain't happening. lets enjoy the ride cuz we never know when it may stop  :beer:

Well, I didn't see bubledude, bublehead....  :hihi: ok ok, thats not nice... But for real, in first place, the guy doesn't strike me as GN'R material... But who am I to judge? Axl thought he was good enough for the band, so ok, lets give him a chance. I didn't dig the whole buckethead alternate persona thing, I'm just not into chicken coop's and face's we don't get to see... But it looks like the majority of the people liked it, and don't get me wrong, I liked his guitar work and all. But come on, we've gone from slash, to a dude with a mask and a craving for bird flu or H5N1, and now we've got a guy who identifies himself with pedicure's and feet in general... I'd might be a pessimist, but I'd just like to have a guitarist who's rock&roll and is into playing both old and new GN'R.... Is that too much to ask?

i was at the show, and i still say im just speaking what i heard and saw first-hand....the only wrong thing was this new dude....2 guitars, robin and fortus, would really rock and with two keyboards, this is totally possible.....especially since dizzy could and SHOULD play 3rd guitar when its needed


but you're right, im done complaining about this new dude.......the show was awesome...im going sunday and monday!! axl was really, really awesome....he really evolved this band into something totally credible and it showed last night...2002 was like the audition...now, they're ALREADY guns n roses...no new members....well, one......but they just look natural and comfortable....

AND ONE TIME.....robin's stage diving and mic stand throwing were totally awesome on PC....it was AWESOME!!!!!

What does one have to do to be "rock&roll"? that's another thing i don't understand :-\

Axl kicked  more ass last night than any other GNR show EVER.

He looked great, sounded great.

D, I just watched Live at the Ritz 88.  Nothing can ever top that show.  Nothing.  D, I am sure Axl put on a great show, but nothing can touch that 88 show.

Cuz that's what I got into GN'R for in the first place... When I became a fan, this was 'the most dangerous band in the world'. Allthough I like the new songs, with all these caracter's being brought in, it feels like I'm fan of a fuckin comic strip... Am I the only one who has this feeling. By the way, this has nothing to do about the shows being awesome, and Axl being great... Its about GN'R being the best band in the world, or the potential to become that once more...

no padje......what does a person have to do to be "Rock&Roll"? obviously playing and touring with a rock&roll band isn't enough :-\

I could really give a crap about BF - the show was awesome and as long as Axl Rose is involved - I'm in.

Neemo, rock&roll is a broad lifestyle, I agree, but why does newGN'R need special caracters? Why isn't the band done with a singer, a drummer, two keyboard/piano dudes, a bass player, a rythem guitar player and a lead guitar player? Why does GN'R need a guy like bumblefoot? I'd might totally agree with everyone who's into bumblefoot now, once I've seen them. But right now, I'm asking myself, why does GN'R need this guy? What is he bringing into it extra, besides being awesome on guitar? From what I'm getting from the review's, Robin is doing quite allright on his own...

because he is a great player like you said above and because the songs were written for 3 live guitarists....I'm sorry Dizzy isn't a good enough player and he's a keyboardist besides :peace:

it's not even just bumblefoot though....axl's goatee, his choice of clothing, Pittman, what axl is seen eating, the list is silly and endless

I totally understand what you are saying and feel much the same way.  I was at the show last night, and enjoyed every minute of it, but you are right...not only was Guns music kickass...but they were kickass too.  Slash is just cool.  no matter what anyone says, i look at Slash and I say, wow thats a cool mother f'er.  when i look at buckethead i resist the urge to laugh.  i am really happy i got see Axl last night and the newer members of the band were great, they all looked less weird, and did a phenomenol job on the material....but to me, it still feels cheap to say that i have now seen guns n roses in concert.  i guess i can say that i saw new guns.  or that i saw axl.  but to me guns n roses will always include slash with a cig hanging out of his mouth, and a huge bass rig with Duff spray painted on it  : ok:

I am pumped to hear that last nites show went so well, and that Axl looked great and sounded great by all accounts.  I am going Wednesday, and I cant fuckin' wait.  I haven't heard any of the leaks yet, but cant wait to hear the new material and have a very open mind to accepting the new stuff with the new band.

To answer why some of us can never be happy, I think it starts with the fact that this isn't the real/original Guns N Roses.  Its basically Axl with a bunch of new guys.  Thats okay with me, as there is NO ONE with the presence and aura of Axl Rose.  The man is unbelievable, and can create a buzz and energy that can't be matched, no matter how long its been.  Chinese Democracy will be the 1st album in what 14 years, and will do very well just because its Axl/GnR.   

However, there are many people who are dissapointed with things because the original band was so F'n good, it was  unbelievable.  Appetite was/is the best album I have ever heard, and IMO the best of the era.  This band was so good and brought so much, they were virtually unstoppable.  And that carried on right through the UYI albums.  I think people aren't happy because they were so good and so talented, their potential was endless, and never went where many felt they could have gone. 

I don't necessarily feel this way, but know many who do.  I am just glad that GnR is playing and I get a chance to see them and the best frontman there is AXL ROSE in person next week. 

It's funny cos apart from that pope idiot I haven't seen ANY negativity! And it's because Axl has come through with the goods! The look, the voice, the set.. everything!

No, I wasn't. But I will be on june 2nd and july 2nd... Maybe I've got to see em for myself first to be convinced...

I am a little disapointed with GnR having only 3 guitarists. 5 guitarists and 2 drummers would have been way to go. Prince had 2 drummers, so maybe the new GnR could have gone one better and had 3 drummers, they do after-all have 2 keyboard players, well 3 if you include Axl  :hihi:

I have to admit, I'm a guitar idiot.....I am not a person to analyse every note and compare to other guitarists.  When Bumblefoot came out, I had no clue who he was.  But I was happy because he looked like a rock n' roller.  Long hair, scruffy beard, low slung guitar.....just awesome. 

The man can play, that's all I can say.  He sounds good and I can be happy with that.  Why some people have to analyse everything is beyond me.  My fav band is back on the road and I got to be within 3 feet from 4 of them.  It's a wonderful thing ;D

I think bumble will win many fans over by the time the whole tour has ended.  :yes:

i totally agree with you. i posted a similar arguement on page 26 of the stickied may 15th thread.

i was there on friday. it was one of the best concerts ive ever been too, and im going back on wednesday. i have no complaints at all. couldnt have been happier. every song they played im happy with, every player on stage sounded great.

was bumble a little out of place? yeah, i couldnt see where his parts fit into the songs, but hes only been there for a week, give him time.

A Dead Horse question if there ever was one:  Why can we never be happy?  Because we're pissed about waiting 15 years for our favorite band to deliver an album of new material.  That's what all the frustration boils down to.  That's the real source of our anger when we bitch about stupid, meaningless shit like Dizzy not wearing a shirt or a guitar shaped like a foot (which is truly ridiculous).

I went to the Friday and Sunday shows.  Loved them and had a great time.  But don't thank me for holding my breath.  Give me an album.  Please for the love of God I am begging you. 

I guess the album issue is what it all boils down to, whoever said that is right. but i am REALLY happy right now.. very excited. the most ive been since around 2001, i think its finally happening!!!!

Axl is in top shape, and in great voice.  That is great news.  But until Slash is back with the band, there will be room for improvement.  Axl is at 100%, but I can't say I can ever forget about what Slash could do by his side musically.

dude im fucking happpy as shit i dont know about you but im fucking excited as shit for guns to come back to the us. Going to the show the 14th was by far the best day of my life!!! I cant wait for CD and the new band rocks. ppl are ass fucks if they are still talking aboot slash coming back if they saw them or heard a boot. BF is amazinf finck rocked house with richard dizzy was awesome as usuall brain was beating the shit out of the drums and axl sounded fucking perfect the whole time. I am going to see them again no matter what when they come back. I AM VERY HAPPY!!! How are you not man!!! And CD is going to be out this fall bitch!

I'm stoked, I admit I wanted to hear them play CITR at one of these shows (one more night for that) and possibly 2 other NEW previously unheard songs, but I'll settle for what I've heard so far.  From most of the reviews they've put on great shows.  Can't ask for much more than that.  And I understand Axl not wanting to play ALL the new songs seeing how the album won't be out till the fall at the absolute earliest.
