Title: Re: 01.07.92 - The Pyramid, does it really exist on audio? Post by: zombux on May 10, 2006, 11:00:54 AM yes, it's still on dime (only 2 seeders though, I'm unable to upload it due to my broken bandwith - at this moment, sorry). quality is good for audience recording, well listenable stuff. very recommendable

Title: Re: 01.07.92 - The Pyramid, does it really exist on audio? Post by: kaasupoltin on May 12, 2006, 12:38:14 AM Ok, so this is the whole info-file that I got with it:
Band: Guns-n-Roses Date: January 07, 1992 Title: Jive Talkin' at the Pyramid Matrix: GSJ-053 (Genuine Space Jewel Recording) Venue: The Pyramid Location: Memphis Tennessee Equipment: Panasonic RQ-L335 -(rec)-> Kenwood KX-W6060 -(xfer)-> Adobe Audition -(capture/edits)-> Flac Frontend -(FLAC 6)-> DONE! Comments: I will be the first to admit that this recording is not intended for people seeking perfection. This recording is for the die-hard fans and completist. Audiophiles be aware! This was the first time I ever tried to record a concert, but oh what a show I picked. At the time, The Pyramid was newly built and suffered from acoustical issues (lots of echo bouncing back from the walls). They tried to fix the problem by hanging huge acoustical blankets from the ceiling. It was a nice try, but there was still a lot of echo in the building. Judge for yourself. Despite a leg injury, Axl came out and put on a hell of a show. He hobbled around ranting and raving all night long (thus the title Jive Talkin'). He goes off on the press, parents, and authority figures in general. He also ejects a couple of people from the front rows because the were just sitting down watching the show. For me, some of the highlight of the show were the performance of Dust-n-Bones, hearing Duff sing Attitude, watching Axl playing a full size grand piano during November Rain, and seeing Slash rock out during two individual guitar solos. Saddly, this is not the complete concert. During Slash's second guitar solo the batteries in the recorder died. Setlist: 01. Welcome to Memphis 02. Night Train 03. Mr. Brownstone 04. Transition 05. Live and Let Die 06. Dust-n-Bones 07. It's So Easy 08. Attitude 09. Axl Talkin' Jive 10. Double Talking Jive 11. Slash's Guitar Solo 12. Civil War 13. Axl Talkin' Jive Again 14. Gilby Clarke's Guitar Solo 15. Patience ** disc 1 total 16. Welcome to the Jungle 17. November Rain 18. You Could Be Mine 19. Band Introductions 20. Matt Sorum's Drum Solo 21. Duff Joins In 22. Slash's Second Guitar Solo ** disc 2 total Technical comments: Audience noises between Track 7 and 8 were crossfaded together for continuity, fixing tape flip. Small fade-out added to end of Track 15 because the tape ran out about 1-2 seconds before song ended. Fade-in added to Track 16 because new tape was put into recorder. Track 22 was not edited. The unusual sounds at the end is due to the batteries in the recorder dying. MD5 checksum values: 0ead8f2cdaa7a0c53688a8366f30a853 *Disc 1\01.
