I think some people have the new tracks. ?It is just a matter of time, now that it is out of Axl's hands. ?Axl can't keep them secret if other people have access to the cd.

i think the first sign that it is bullshit is that axl said they are still shuffling tracks around, which means mastering still hasnt happened.

the second sign is that it starts with I.R.S. which is obviously not an album opener. id beleive this if it was chinese democracy, and if better was one of the first three tracks.

i found it on melodicrock.com this afternoon, posted it and it got deleted, i just wanted to say im sorry to the admins & jarmo if it caused any problems!

If this is true I hope they release something soon or the record company and them will be out of alot of money.

Hmm... The fans who care about it enough and GN'R's comeback and want their (especially Axl's) hard work to not be tainted by people who feel it should be given out for free, should organize an online CD leak prevention group. Report websites, message boards etc. that host CD or work as an enabler or communication platform for people looking to download it.

Now, as you noticed, I said "the fans who care about it", so all those people who feel like opposing the idea, just don't worry about. I promise you your lives will not be affected by this. ?;)

It's interesting to me that a couple days after Axl says it's not coming out till fall that this pops up. Almost as if someone is saying, "Get your shit together and release it or we will."

we just need to put a lot of fake chinese democracy's out there, A LOT, like 20 or something on different trackers, Limewire, soulseek...

Axl said on Friday the album (STILL CAN YOU BELIEVE) not 100% finished yet, still a few vocals etc... need to be added, and because of that I don't think this is genuine.

You know, that *last* thing we need right now is for the album to leak. ?After 13 years of slaving to create this record, let's wait until he's almost ready to put it out before we piss him off, right? ?That way he can get (rightfully) enraged and decide to hold off for another decade or so. ?
 
Yes, it's been sometime since a GnR album was released, and Axl has to realize that leaks are, for better or worse, now the nature of the beast. ?Still, I don't want to hear the finished tracks until I have the purchased CD in my hands.

If the actual mastered album does in fact leak, the one bright side is that it means it's finished and out of axl's hands. And that i will hit shelves ASAP to avoid losing a ton of money. I would imagine we'll see one of those friday releases they sneak on us at the last minute, instead of the coming tuesday as scheduled. They did it with St. Anger to get people to buy it.

a dude at cd.com is half way through the download, but the guy who shares is offline, probably gonna know more tomorrow.

I think this is entirely bullshit.

Although, if the Star Wars movie can leak, nothing Axl can do will prevent CD from leaking. I don't think they would leak this soon, when the album isn't due until the fall. Usually it occurs at the duplication facility, guy working there burns a copy, passes it to friends or posts it online at a file sharing site.

If anything it may speed up the release date, as the company & Axl will then want to get it out asap.

As for a CD Leak prevention group??? Count me out, I'll be ripping these tracks right away.. Don't get me wrong, I'll still buy the album once it's out, but I've waited 15 years for this shit, I don't need to wait until "fall/late fall"

As far as the record company doing it on purpose, i highly doubt it, because i highly doubt anyone high enough to make an official call on that has a copy of it. The only was i see it happening is it's really done and being pressed, and someone that works there does it.

it most likely downloads the tracks evenly, so you cant listen to a single one until you have all of the files completely downloaded.

The only good that could possibly come out of this is CD gets released faster.

with bit torrent you can listen to the parts of the song you have downloaded, i found out by accidentally adding stuff i was still downloading to my playlist.... it may jump from one part to another but it a considerable part of the track is downloaded you can tell if this is fake or not.

There is no fucking way I would go for option B and not listen to it. Fuck that. I want to hear it so bad its ridiculous. I will take the new shit however I can get it.

I'll listen to it the second it leaks, doesn't mean I'm any less of a fan. Hopefully it puts pressure on Axl to release it soon...I work at a music store and will probably buy at least 1 or 2 copies (Dual Disc/LP/Import...etc.) but that's not going to stop me from listening to new GNR music.

After having thought about for a bit, didn't Axl say on Trunk that they are still working on CD? If that's the case, CD has not leaked. I did an essay on the music piracy business a couple of years back where in my research I basically found that most album leaks originate from CD manufacturing plants. If Axl and the band are still working on the album, it has not yet reached the plants and is therefore most likely not leaked. And if it is leaked, it is an incomplete version stolen from the master tape vaults or demos of all the songs.

dont forget Axl has played new songs in clubs where copies could have easily been ripped by the DJs

Yeah, but since he's saying they're still working on it, he wouldn't be able to play the entire thing at clubs. All songs would not be available. And, again, if they are, they're most likely not complete or demos.

But they were gonna narrow it down to 13 songs, and if they're still working on the songs, they can't narrow them down until they're done. Ok, basically, before we start running around in circles here, CD is not done, therefore it won't be manufactured yet, mastering has nothing to do with it. CD's do not leak from mastering sessions.

axl said that they were swapping songs from 1 and 2.so that means at some point there is a 1 album and a 2 album.one of these albums of un mastered demos could have leaked.what im sayin is that if an album has leaked,it doesnt mean its actually the final tracklist and version of CD

Didnt axl say most of the vocals and other stuff is almost finished and that was on a body of work that could fit nearly 3 albums ? So I mean it could be possible that 13 songs are finished and the stuff that isint finished is the stuff for album 2 and the rest.Just an idea.

Didn't the Avenged Sevenfold singer say that Axl had given him a 13 track CD? If that's the case, there may be a handful of other copies of it, and one may have leaked. But I agree that it's doubtful that this is the final version that we will see in stores.

I think what he means is there is a file on Limewire and other P2P programs, which has a name to the effect of "Guns n Roses - The Chinese Democracy Master Tape" or something like that. It is a zip file with a .exe file in. This file is a virus. The torrent that people are talking about are mp3's and do not contain viruses. DO NOT RUN ANY .EXE FILES DOWNLOADED FROM LIMEWIRE ETC !!! Hopefully this guy seeds...but so far from the size of things it looks legit. If not, this person definately put some effort into faking everybody out. I figure it this way...whomever had the original leaks must have access to more tracks.

Look at the track times.

Madagascar and TWAT are both around 6 minutes. ?Yet Madagascar is almost double the size!

IRS (demo) is only 4 minutes, yet it's as big as TWAT?

Now, the IRS leak is 5.9 MB...well so is this one in the supposed album leak.
CITR leak is 7.8 MB...and this one is 7.7...so there is a discrepancy...but not much.
TWAT version is 9.1 MB but only for the extended version...this one is 6.2 which I believe was the first TWAT leak that was minus the kick ass guitar solo.
Better is the one with the biggest difference MB was...so well maybe this theory is out the window then

Hmm... Madagascar is a shorter song than TWAT right? So why is the filesize a lot bigger here? Also my mp3 copy of TWAT is 6.15mb - and the one here is 6:16mb... that's pretty close in my book.

They might be different kb/s (quality) which effects the sizes.

And you've only heard old demos/live versions, the finished songs will probably have a few tweaks (minutes added/taken away) here and there.

i wish people would stop mentioning those titles all the time, axl hasn't decided which songs he's even gonna use for CD yet and yet people are talking about these two titles as if they were already heard.

Prostitute and The General might be on the other 2 future cds, and how do we even know they're deffiantly gonig to be included.

I'm trying to download just one or two of the songs using bitcomet but it ain't downloading either..well it download a little but not enough to hear...then just stopped but considering it said was downloading at 2kb per second i bet bitcomet wont register it as data downloaded anyway..but if it does i'll let you know

On bitcomet it doesnt show it as a rar file, shows it as 13 seperate mp3's you can download at once or select which ones you want.

My opinon is that its bogus. Somone's hosting this shit....well thats it, they arn't hosting shit. Just sittin back and laughng. I say lock the thread or delete it untill someone has downloaded a official track. Then they can post a new thread about it. I think that a bunch of fake leaks are gonna pop up now there is a reason to do so (tour and hearing the albums coming out this year).

If anything, I think the lack of a seed helps the authenticity of this. From past experience, bogus tracks and albums tend to have quite a lot of seeds. Still, there are a few things which makes me doubt this is real:

1) Axl has alluded to the fact that not one of the albums' is totally finished. Having said this, he could just be referring to the sequence of tracks, as he referred to in the interview.

2) The differing bitrates. This could possibly be explained by the leaker ripping the MP3's on different software - but why would he do this...?

3) The 15 seconds of "This I Love" from this record doesn't sound like GNR to me. But then again, the first 15 seconds of "Better" wouldn't have sounded like GNR to me if I didn't know it was them. ?:hihi:


~ All in all, I'm calling "bogus" (or at least not ripped from a master tape). The best I'm hoping for is a larger demo CD.

If your looking for the titles of the songs yourself, their already coming up as diffrent GNR songs I.E. This I love i downloaded off limewire and it was just locomotive..so some people are either already posting old songs with these names or its all just fake ?:smoking:

The 15 second clip of "This I Love" is pretty well recorded and has a decent drummer but I can hear a slight "skip" at 0:08. That's odd.

But it sounds like a pro recording so someone should know the band if it's fake.

I think the song order makes it look fake... and the song lengths.. if you notice it has Madagascar clocking in at a higher megabyte rate than TWAT.. meaning MAddy would be the longer song.

Obviously we would not expect an EXACT match, but it's unlikely that (for example) they decided to double the length of Madagascar.    It's possible but exceedingly unlikely that this IS really Chi-Dem and there have just been a whole bunch of wholesale changes to the songs.

Just cause you don't think IRS is superior to Better doesn't mean others don't.

It's the only song out of the leaks that has any straight up mainstream potential.
Short, Catchy Melody, A perfect balance of heaviness and hardness... Good song.

I let myself hear two new songs "Slow Cheetah" and Snow just to get an idea.

Well in about 8 hours im gonna go down to Best Buy and get this album and I am absolutely excited and out of my head thinking about it.

The GNR leaks I DL and I fuckin regret it every single day that i did. If i could go back there is no way in hell I wouldve done so.

I am with you, i can't wait to go out tommorow and get the RHCP album.

However, i think if guns had released a couple albums over the time we've waited, or we didn't have to wait as long as we did, this would be different. Basically i grabbed the leaks not because i couldn't wait, or was greedy, but because i was worried if i passed the chance up, i'd never hear axl sing again. Even with all the recent news, that still worries me slightly. When the album hits it won't have the same impact, but i didnt wanna risk it.

Better and CITR both have main stream potential. Hell CITR is a cross over hit, that could even be played on a soft rock station

I always snuck peeks of my christmas presents before I got em...so i look at it as im just opening the present early gonna re-wrap it and enjoy again on christmas...i never enjoyed my presents any less....I listened to the demo's a couple times but i've since than erased em and havent heard em since early april so i have a feeling i'll be quite excited if i can taste the whole album before i get it and i'll still be excited the day it comes out. ?:smoking:

Ok CITR, TWAT, and Madagascar are just power ballads done a little diffrent...still damn good though...IRS or Better could be a single to go with based on what i've heard i would go with Better as a first single than hit one of those catchy ballads to soften things up, kinda like VR did with slither, than fall to pieces.

Im still gonna be psyched as hell for CD.

But just imagine how much more psyched had we never heard Better,IRS,Catcher,TWAT etc etc

DL leaks is kinda like premature ejaculation. Good but not as great as it couldve been had u held out a little longer.

Better is to "new" and "diffrent" for straight up mainstream. I'm not saying it can't be succesfull but if you released it as a single right now it probably wouldn't do to good unless there was a huge change in what people accepted as "mainstream" music. Too many effects.

CITR is to boring, repetitive and pretty lengthy for mainstream succes.

We are not even sure all the leaks will be in CD anyway, so your not really sure your spoiling anything.

Ok so staying on topic of leaks, has there been ANY other demo leaked besides TWAT, CITR, BETTER, & I.R.S. that people have been able to listen? excluding live concert leaks.

I love CITR but I disagree that it has main stream potential.  The reason I don't think it would be a hit is because of the lyrics.  I don't think that they are bad, in fact I love them.  I'm just thinking that an ordinary Joe who doesn't know the backstory or who has no clue about Mark Chapman will be like what the fuck is he talking about here?  I can't relate to this shit at all, and sadly I think that in todays musical landscape lyrics have to have universal appeal or else the kids just can't get into it.

I do think that Better has mainstream potential though because it has lyrics that are good but at the same time everyone can understand and relate to, which is a sad indictment of peoples taste in music today but I just don't think you can have a big hit unless you pander to the kiddies and make something that is easily digestible for them.

I have given BETTER to a ton of people, both friends offline and online, and most of them love the song and think its great. And these friends taste is music is varied.

It would be a helluva lot easyier to just wait for the album and avoid the leaks if we knew for sure the album was coming out.

The truth is that most people don't consider the lyrics when feeling a song or not....the message is more often than not secondary...CITR has the ability to be a hit.

I was on mininova yesterday and there was something titled, chinese democracy master tape. The guy wrote under it that you had to be quick if you wanted to download it, it wouldn't work for me so obviously i wasn't quick enough. Probably was fake, but maybe, just maybe.

It is only 13 songs according to Axl. ?I think he was quoted as saying that in the Rolling Stone interview and he stated it again on the Eddie Trunk show. ?Which to be honest was a little dissapointing to me. ?Even if the plan is to release 2 more albums over a short period of time I'm not exactly confident that if we get the first one, the others are going to follow shortly after because I worry that Axl will obsess over tinkering with them.

What is wrong with 13 songs? Who cares how many songs there are as long as he used most of the 80 minutes on the Cd. If the album is 13 songs and spans 78 mins, that is fine

Thats 6min per track.. with the likes of the 3-4 minute songs we've been exposed to (Silk, Rhiad, CD, IRS).. I can see maybe around 60 if we have a few long tracks in the mix.

The leaks are obviously fakes. Axl himself stated during the Eddie Trunk interview that they were still debating over the track-list. How can somebody have the album version of Chinese Democracy when the track-list is not even sorted out?

did anyone else get that 23 file torrent on seedler, most of it was bs, a couple live tracks, and some midi crap it sounded like.  I was just curious if the version of the blues on it was heard by anyone before, its still live but it has some subtle differnces from the one ive heard on youtube.  also some of the muffled midi sounding tracks had some sort of a gnr feel, maybe a tape recorder of them rehearsing from outback of the jampad?  im sorry if this was posted before, let me know if u have this.

CD is impossible to leak at current time. The disc ain't even done yet. Still shuffling songs between the first two records according to the last Axl interview.

it is absolutly mind boggling that the cd isn't finished after the 2002 mess... I think this tour should start with cd done.. I use to read oh they aren't touring because they want everything to be 100 percent complete so they don't have to go back.. I remember the 26 of 32 songs are done or soemthing like that from RS recently.. Cd has been going on since at least 1999, justr wrap it up already, 7 years to get one album out.. I don't care if they have 15 records just release one and then go back..
