I have not one time believed a release date (I came in late to this, i started looking late 2001 for the cd) but i think we are finally getting it.

Remember, at some point, it has to come out.

As I said in another thread, the fact that Axl noted that two CDs are almost finished, and one other is still being recorded, I'm not sure how much studio work will happen throughout the summer tour schedule...I just don't know when there will be time to finish work on the albums.  But I'm also taking Axl at his word, so fall it is.

i assume by almost done he means editing track lists and taking care of mastering / packaging / advertising plans.

as far as more studio time goes, they already have two albums in the can so there shouldnt be a need to hit the studio until atleast after the full blown us tour for chinese democracy.

wrap up disc three then, release 'untitled second album', tour that, then jam on songs for a fourth album while your in the process of releasing 'untitled third album'  (i guess technically i shouldve called them 'seventh' and 'eighth'). i dont beleive they will all have something to do with chinese democracy, im pretty sure everything is meant to be its own album.

I believe the actual recording is done. Not sure about the whole issue of the name Guns N' Roses because I think its that that has been keeping it from its pending release date for the last years.

I thought it would definitely be out by June at the latest. Oh well...I hope it actually will come out at some point, whether it be June or Autumn.

I'd believe it more if it was a closer date, if he said mid summer I'd believe him more. Just because that's when the band is touring and it makes more sense I think, I don't know much abotu putting out a record or anything but that's how I feel.

I think it's a mistake to release it in the fall because here we are with another tour without an album. ?Iwould guess that people listen to more music in the summer because of all the related activities, so he's blowing it. ?I hope for the people going to the shows this summer that the band will actually play some new stuff. ?If it's all Appetite and UYI material then we are in trouble.

Because he said it himself, this is the first time that I have the most faith ever that it will infact be released.   I agree with others that have posted until I have it in my hands...it's still a wait and see.

i know i heard axl say that they are still deciding what songs will go on what cd. hopefully he decides quickly. i'm now starting to think it'll be about a year before we see it. god, i hope i'm wrong.

Wasn't CD just removed from Amazon.com in December or something?  I know it was on there a little while ago, but they have since removed it.

not for nothing but he needs to get this CD out sooner then later. Or at lest a single. Because he is going out on tour and playing more new songs. NO album, and alot of the shows will be proshot and all over the internet. And then you have the bootlegers, so if he keeps waiting by the time the album comes out..IF it comes out, all the new songs on there will not be new...idk i'v just been waiting for this so long i'll belive it when its in my hands. But by then the new album will be old news.

Exactly. Even Axl sounded unsure in the Eddie trunk interview. he wasn't even sure if it was fall or late fall which could than be winter and then spring. Who knows. Plus if this tour implodes there will be no album.

I truely believe so. It just seems right, IMO. But than again, It is the "Holy Grail."

Something to remember.  Even if an "official" release date is announced, it don't mean shit.  Anyone remember the UYI albums?  That release got delayed by a month.  Not that a month is an intolerable wait time, but still, something to keep in mind.

If Axl plans to tour the states later this year, then the album will HAVE to be out. Something to also consider is back in 2004 they booked Rio-Lisbon and a tentative Euro tour, which as we know didn't happen... and 2 years later we still don't have the album?! So it was never going to be released then either?! Well, at least Axl's saying "the fall" and "this year" for what it's worth.

Axl intends to release the album just before the US Tour... You lucky americans are gonna hear -new- music this year!

the longer they wait to release it, and the longer it takes them to announce an official release date through the label, the more time axl has to second guess everything and postpone it yet again...

The fact that Axl always seems to hesitate when asked when the CD will drop tells me that he doesn't have a damn clue himself.

- If he's asked in summer, he will say "fall".

- If asked in winter, he will say "spring".

etc... etc...

All the press midia in Brazil are saying CD will be out in august/september (US fall).

but I'll be surprise if axl do the same crap in 2001: be in tour without new cd, changing songs in every show, most songs in set list based in old material...

I do believe the album will be out this fall. Axl says it will. When has Axl ever said in the past when it was going to released? When have we even seen Axl so much the past several years? He's out in the public eye again. He just appeared on the radio. New pics surface on the internet all the time now. Dozens of shows have been confirmed. This is all the buildup to the big payoff toward the end of this year. Chinese Democracy is warming up.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm missing something. But I've never heard Axl say before when the realease was going to happen until this year. I remember at the end of the VMAs, when Kurt Loder asked him if we'd see it soon, Axl said, "You'll see it ... I don't know if soon's the word." Now he's saying it'll be released in the fall, which IS soon. That's also when they're supposed to start the US leg of the tour, so all you people can stop whining about not having a CD out before the tour. We're probably the only people in the world who even fucking care about that shit. All the shows overseas have already sold out; yet they have no new CD to listen to. They just want to see GNR. That's all you people should care about, too. I don't care if Axl comes out and plays nothing but covers; plays the whole Spaghetti Incident CD and nothing else. I just want to see Axl perform. It's like ... rarer than seeing Big Foot get it on doggy-style with the Loch Ness monster and more anticipated than Christ's return.

Well said. People take the hero worship a little too far here. Axl has a great musical mind, and great vision. Guns is far and away my favorite band. And even if you want to debate if Christ was really the son of God, he still helped the world alot more than the return of Axl Rose is going to.

I'm excited to see axl play live..  I'm glad shows are happeing, but cd is what I want more then anything really.. It's not a gnr return for me, it's just my favorite singer from back in the day with some dudes still unsure when his album is coming out..

I think we will finally see the album this fall.  You know he's excited about it, hell, he's playing the damn thing everywhere he goes.  The fall date also coinsides with the rumored US tour.  The ball is rolling, and FINALLY I'm getting excited.

Although Axl does what he wants when he wants, I can't see management being ok with a huge buildup and tour, and Clear Channel being ok with a U.S. tour, without the album. He was slammed in the press last time, and i don't know that anyone else would risk the $ over this with no album.

No one knows for sure if/when the CD is going to come out.
But, I can't remember this much action in past years...2006 is off to a good start for Axl and Company.  So, I am optimistic that this is the year.  Not since 2002 have I felt this way.  Axl seems to be out alot and talking...he seems prepared to get this machine rolling once again...or so, I keep telling myself.

If they end up touring with no album ill be dissapointed but ill still go see them.  If this ens up like 02 again and the whole thing gets cancled i may finally start to lose interest/faith.  But it just dont seem likely that it will.  I cant imagine so many people booking them and supporting them witout some assurance that this will end on a positive note and there will be an album, not after 02...

Who knows anymore.... even after listening to his interview its all speculation really...

It makes good sense and also follows GNR history to tour, finish and release the cd, then tour again.  GNR can try out several of the new songs, and check out the crowd reaction to the new stuff.  This may affect the tracks chosen for the releases.   (Remember how OMG, Silkworms disappeared right away, and even Rhiad dropped off the set list in 2002?)  Same idea here, I bet.
