Title: MSFL versus gold signature edition
Post by: troccoli on May 05, 2006, 09:11:03 PM
You know, I can remember a while back I puchased all 5 of the gold signature editions at Tower Records for about $30 each.  Like an idiot I sold all of them (still sealed) for $200 to someone.  Anyways, you see the MSFL versions on eBay all the time (granted at a high price) but you rarely if ever see the gold signature edition versions.  Which do you think are more rare?  Just curioous.

I would think that the MFSL versions would be more rare. The gold signature editions you refer to are probably similar to the ones we had here in Australia. They were available in every record shop.
The MFSL Ultradisc versions are remastered using the original master tapes and then custom pressed using 24-Karat gold, these discs sound absolutely awesome. Way better than a standard CD.

I have Appetite, Lies and both Illusion's on MFSL and had to custom order them to get them in Australia(not cheap).
Unfortunately Mobile Fidelity has gone out of business so the only place to get them now is on ebay or similiar places.

I would definately recommend getting the MFSL versions to all GN'R fans.
